Brief History of Philips' Philishave/Norelco Electric Shavers

A brief history of the Philips electric shaver business from the first model in 1939 up to the 80th Anniversary Heritage Edition model that revived the Philishave brand name that was phased out in 2006 in favor of the Philips brand name. Also in 2006, Philips which marketed their shavers in the USA under the Norelco name began co-branding the shavers sold in the USA Philips Norelco in preparation for the eventual phase out of the Norelco name.

To say Japan has Panasonic, but Philpshave or what is known as Norelco is the number 1 electric shaver in South Korea.
So when it comes to other products is either Samsung, LG or probably Daewoo even though Philips made products in South Korea then when it comes to electric shavers Philips is equivalent to Samsung on appliances in South Korea.
To say it all Philips shavers are number 1 in South Korea.

In some markets... Philips/Norelco is phasing out the "Lift & Cut" blade system to the newer "Comfort Cut" blades which once again have no lifters, just like the pre-1980 shaver heads... I have the new-designed (2019) S3000 Wet/Dry shaver with the SH30 "Comfort Cut" heads.... To make the SH30 blades more effective, the new design S3000 also features a "5D" floating hinge under the head assembly, which along with the floating functions already in the head assembly itself, now gives the new S3000 almost all the face contour following characteristics of the more expensive S5000-S9000 Series shavers, which have the completely detachable 3 head assembly that balances on that single pivot...

The speed shaver, which wasn't talked about here, is my favorite. They have floating heads and cuts better than any brand shaver made today.
