Well thats a big topic because there are multiple ways to go about picking sounds, but one of them would be to create a library with go-to sounds so you have stuff that you know is working. I talk about this in depth inside the sound selection masterclass!
Its a bit contridicting, yes the sounds shot not be exactly like the main lead, but they should have a purpose, like filling in spots to make the sound fuller. Thats the main point, they can add character or just make the sound fuller by being very similar. But they all should be weaker than the main lead

How do i get this Wave candy plugin you showed? The one from the FL studio docs looks alot different but would be so usefull to inspect sounds
There are a lot of parameters inside the Wave Candy Plug-In which change the UI. It also has stock presets, I think this was one of them.
@@poplab_audio found it thx
super helpfull🔥
Cheers bro 🍻
Link to the sound selection masterclass does not open for me, lmk how to access would be down to take a look and maybe buy it!

Is trial and error an important aspect of layering ?..most of the times I get confuse about what kind sounds to pick..

i don't have any Eq vst so would it be hard to layer leads perfectly? cuz i've layered leads with my gut
I mean every DAW has an EQ…how did you manage to not have one?
@@poplab_audio i thought i need eq vst like fatfilter pro q or ozone
What vectorscope ur using here?
It's the built in one from FL Studio, you can access it when you load up the Wave Candy Plug-In. It has a few other Metering Tools as well!
💯💯💯💯👌 like the video guys to bump the algo to help Nathan!
