You can make first building at end of map and get back in time for first lings, then you can get first energy upgrade before your initial energy runs out. The idle time saved restoring energy is better than those 300 minerals (unless allies ecos were hopelessly bad anyway)
By the time you have chrono you should still be farming gas getting extraction bonus, also just flying around floating minerals isn't good, gotta get 2/2 and kill their hydras when you can

This Timing makes total sense
It's ideal to get the extraction ward efficiency early
But it takes an extra 3 minutes of mineral/gas inc
