    thank you bro for making this excellent review, it helped me in making my decision to buying these earbuds, im big fan of earbuds, i dont like iem. its like the difference of a good open back headphone compared to a fully closed one. Open system beats closed in comfort any time.

    Love the FF3 just wish it had a removeable cable connector, I dont trust myself with built in cables, not a single pair of earbuds with a non removable cable have survived my usage, lets see if these will be different

    • @PortaFi
      @PortaFi  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      well, probably we'll see replaceable cables in FF5. but it's just an assumption

      Yeah that is also what I was thinking a FF5, couldn't wait for the FF5 tho, don't even know if I will like the FF3once I recieve it in the mail. If it even fits, last time I tried flatheads was when I was 12 in 2009, once I got those earbuds that came stock with the Galaxy S3 I never looked back, but at 75$ it has to be a good deal. The love the FF3 gets is pretty insane, I have the Fiio FD5s and love them more over the Hook X, S12 and OH10s. The holographic stage is a key point why I love it. Wanted to go for the EM5s but too bad FIIO is not selling those anymore, hopefully FF5 will be a worthy replacement

      @@elyad67 Yes, I'm waiting for FF5 too, as FF3 was that rare case when earbuds fit my ears without problems. And I'm a huge fan of FD5 too :)

    If you have to compare FF3's technicalities and resolution to IEM. What price range of IEM the FF3 would compete with?
    I'm looking for something neutral, can be a little bright, but with spacious stage and very good technicalitites. Only portable items, meaning only IEM/earbud but I can't dig really deep into my saving.
    I now have and like IEMs to the likes of TRN BA5, Tin T2, Hzsound Heart Mirror. But leaving me wanting more. Got my eye on Moondrop Blessing 2 but that's too expensive. Wondering if I should try FF3 or would IEM within this price range (or slightly above) be better purchase (e.g. Dunu Titan S, Tripowin Olina, or Maybe Tanchim Oxygen/Hana).

      Unfortunately, it's impossible to generalise it this way. There are some models in $300 segment that are less focused on microcontrast, there are models in $50 range that more highlighting detalisation. So it's a "$50-$300" range probably?
      Moreover, it's really hard to compare earbuds and IEMs for me, as they give a really different perception overall
      I really like FF3 as a "starter" earbuds, but it's totally up to yours decision here, do you want to try earbuds or not. IEMs are a bit more "safe" choice, as they depend less on fit and you have experience with them. But from another hand, without trying you won't be able to get a new experience :)

      "high price IEM" is too broad statement. it's impossible to generalise it this way

    Hi I understand it’s not fair to compare earbuds with iems.
    Still compared to Fiio fh3. How would you rate these. Especially on the bass

    • @PortaFi
      @PortaFi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      IEMs almost always will be more tight in lows, as they operate in isolated space, and because of that bass will be delivered with more power. and IEMs isolate noise much better, and lows usually suffer the most from external noise
      so if the bass is most important for you, you need IEMs
      instead earbuds gives noticeably better stage

      I have these, bass quantity is not iems level but enough bass for me, quite tight and satisfying. Can't hear any bass when I'm outside, just the nature of earbuds. But when i'm at home, I prefer these FF3 over iems

    • @johnt3500
      @johnt3500 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have these FF3, as well as some popular Chi-Fi IEMs. If you want tight and punchy bass, I can tell you the bass on these beautiful earbuds is just as good as most IEMs under $100. These slam harder than the Moondrop Aria. Unless you just want a lot of bass, then you should go with bass boosted IEMs.

      @@johnt3500 Hey, thanks for the reply. I currently own fiio fh3. I feel the synergy between the driver is not that good. Songs sometimes feel out of sync. Bass I'd decent I would say. Could you recomend me something that would be an upgrade? A few options would be great. Thanks!!

    • @johnt3500
      @johnt3500 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@siddharthtandon7588 I don't have the FH3 so I can't compare it with my IEMs. But I also like bass, so I can name a few. For just $15 you can get the CCA CRA, very cheap but they're considered a gem. For $50, the Truthear x Crinacle Zero is a nice option. I think a clear upgrade to the FH3 would be the 7HZ Timeless for $200. Well if you have a lot of money then you can just get the Sony IER-Z1R, king of bass, I don't own them but I've had a listen already.
