It’s that Star Trek principle, if you see an unnamed clone or newly named clone accompany the main characters, that’s who’s gonna die when shit hits the fan. I get it hard to add tension to characters you know can only die at specific points(like Obi-Wan in ANH, most of the Jedi in ROTS, or Anakin/Vader in ROTJ) but still. It’s why when Rex got sniped by commando droids or when the Son momentarily killed Ahsoka with a single touch, there was more tension as CW added characters as their fate was up in the air.

YYYEEESSSS! Denal is (for some reason) my favorite clone by far. I know his potential was a bit wasted but I just love the idea of a clone that’s not a main or even side character but is slightly better than the regular cannon fodder clones. He shows that not every non-essential character has to die on each mission. He does other missions following skytop station and when he is killed it isn’t a big “the mission, the nightmares” moment. He’s a returning character whose life or death ultimately has no real impact on the story but that what makes him special to me.
It's weird that during an urgent moment, Denal and Koho decided to try and arrest Bane instead of killing him when they knew how dangerous he was and they were ordered to find anakin, not arrest Bane. It's also very convenient that they happened to find Bane instead of Anakin. It's also really weird that two Elite clone troopers couldn't manage to get a lethal shot on Bane who had his hands up above his head and his back facing them before he could draw his pistols, when they were already aiming at him. It's also very weird that Bane managed to fit his big head and elongated non-human body into clone trooper armor which is one size including the helmet when the head of a duros is huge.
You know, had he survived and become a semi recurring clone like Jesse, Hardcase and Fives, he probably would’ve been an ARC trooper by Season 7. Wouldn’t it been cool to see him instead of Jesse executing Order 66 and trying to kill Ahsoka and Rex. Being the clone who would’ve been fighting alongside both since the very beginning, I think that could’ve been better.
If I had to say one clone specifically that had an unfair death that would have to be Commander Thorn, the guy was part of the Coruscant Guard a unit dedicated to protecting the senators and home planet of the Republic and devoted to Sidious, but when he happened to be in the way of Sidious's plans with regards to the Banking Clan and Clovis, he was killed by the most unfair force you could have expected, the man and his squad went up against an army of the CIS's most elite and professional Battle Droids with their best models in action, takes down a good amount of them and gets brutally executed when he's already dying on the ground, the guy died a hero and was the best Commander of the Coruscant Guard because unlike Fox or Thire this guy went out dying for the Republic. But Denal's death always made me angry especially given that he had a good amount of potential you could have easily inserted another generic clone to die in his place and then had his character arc continue on, potentially dying on Umbara or at the Citadel or surviving to the end of the war only to be screwed over by Order 66 as he is one of the clones that Rex ends up shooting after his chip is removed. Anyway his death was my second most hated part of that arc, the most hated part was Anakin was stupid enough to tell Palpatine about the investigation because if he didn't I'm fairly certain Anakin could have fought and killed him on Mustafar alongside Obi-Wan and Mace Windu if he had waited for them to return before embarking on his plan I seriously don't think Sidious could have survived that encounter especially given he'd be trying to turn Anakin only to not have any leverage to do so and get himself killed even if he did order the destruction of the facility while he was still inside it.

I believe that Waxer had the least honorable death in the Clone Wars, friendly fire is no way to go for a clone soldier, especially one who had almost single-handedly cleared the way for the liberation of Ryloth
A decade ago I got bored and wrote a four-page head Canon about Denal surviving and inadvertently avenging Koho about three years after Order 66. Just putting that out there for no reason.
I didn’t like it, but I made my peace with losing my favourite clone so early on in the show. What still bugs me tho is that I don’t recall Rex ever looking back on it. Like when he’s talking to Cody about losing a lot of brothers and he says echo then fives I felt like it should have been denal, echo, then fives.
I really feel bad for him, I never got to know him personally we fought together a couple of times but he was really close to Rex. I salute my fallen brother
BEST CLONE TROOPER IN THE GAR!!! The first real non high ranking trooper to have a name and unique design. Favorite canon clone trooper. Denal deserved better.
I absolutely loved Denal's helmet decal. I remember how, when my parents bought me a toy Clone Phase 1 helmet, I used a blue marker to imitate those stripes running down the cheek plates of Denal's helmet because I thought they were _so cool._ I still stand by that aesthetic assessment
finally, finally someone who knows who Denal is. it's shocking how many people don't know him, or just think of him as a background clone. i have a bone to pick with Cad Bane after season two. he is such a cool character and i wish we saw more of him. just imagine the million possible things that could have happened or thing that could have been different just because Denal was alive.
Denal is my favourite ever character of the prequels and his death made no sense since there were 2 clones and bane could’ve taken the white armour I think denal should’ve been a more used character and even be included in order 66 where he finally met his end , I believe that would help with the clone wars impact of order 66 since a fan favourite clone would be killed really showing the impact if order 66 on every body
its so sad theres so many other clones who deserved much more. for example commander fil and his men. pretty much his whole squad got destroyed by entering a ship getting destroyed by a bazooka. I hate those kind of clone deaths.
There were many clones who didn’t deserve to die, two of which which hit me when I was younger were Commander Fil and Commander Ponds, they didn’t deserve the deaths they got.
Denal was also featured in Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Republic Heroes as it participated in the ryloth mission with Anakin Skywalker and Ashoka Tano after ryloth was freed from the CIS occupation. The mission was to destroy the remaining droids
Every Clone is a hero, they all had the same nightmare and the same goal, they would complete their mission at ANY cost like Heavy for example on the Rishi Moon Outpost, so ALL clones are heroes, not all clones are given their moments but in reality, they are true and brave warriors.
Theres a XCOM 2 Clone trooper mod where there was fantasy 501st and ARC trooper armors for all of Domino Squad had they survived, wish Denal had got one
Denal was a true soldier, and went down after a face off against Cad Bane.

I remember being a little kid watching that episode, being so happy Denal was getting more screen time and being a badass. Then my world shattered as he dies… pretty sure I cried lmao
RIP denal a really underrated guy... (also why the hell does Disney hats legends so much!? If all legends were canon star wars would be amazing imagine SWTC with alpha in it, that might be a bit dark for kids tbh, lmao)
Cos modern lucasfilm knws they can't live up to those stories from a decade or 2 prior, now it's all about cheap entertainment that will be consumed blindly and protected by toxic positivity
@@TY-km8hj the fuck are you talking about 💀💀💀
Denal is my favorite clone trooper! So glad to see him getting attention!
He is dead but not forgotten. I immortalised him in my legion army as part of squad appo alongside mixer and redeye.
Denal was my favorite clone in season 1 of clone wars!
I believe that Waxer had the least honorable death in the Clone Wars, friendly fire is no way to go for a clone soldier, especially one who had almost single-handedly cleared the way for the liberation of Ryloth
Ahh, I am pretty sure that's not how it is pronounced 0:28
Glad people finally agree. I never really knew his story when I first watched TCW, but just seeing his helmet and his design made him stand out.
Nice video, thank you I always enjoyed Denal. Still have the og clone trooper Denal Funko 2008 bobble head.
As a kid Denal had my favourite helmet design, it was simple yet awesome
They should make his death non cannon!
The most heroic soldiers
Forgotten after the rise the Empire 😔
A decade ago I got bored and wrote a four-page head Canon about Denal surviving and inadvertently avenging Koho about three years after Order 66. Just putting that out there for no reason.
Denal and Kano are my favs, idk but them tear lines are crazy good
I'm reading SW Republic comic bc of this channel. It's Clone Wars on pre-workout 😎
Yeah, Denal didn't deserve to go out like that.
Damn. Haven’t been watching the channel lately, but homie has gotten himself a NICE mic upgrade.
Rip Denal. He was a good mate
Just off the show he was one of my favorites in the early seasons. Even had his action figure but not many recognized him.
I really feel bad for him, I never got to know him personally we fought together a couple of times but he was really close to Rex. I salute my fallen brother
This breaks cannon.
@@GTEmeraldRepublic I think not denal died when I was already introduced to the 501st
BEST CLONE TROOPER IN THE GAR!!!
The first real non high ranking trooper to have a name and unique design. Favorite canon clone trooper. Denal deserved better.
Late to the party, but does anyone know the comic being shown at 2:30 ?
I absolutely loved Denal's helmet decal. I remember how, when my parents bought me a toy Clone Phase 1 helmet, I used a blue marker to imitate those stripes running down the cheek plates of Denal's helmet because I thought they were _so cool._ I still stand by that aesthetic assessment
Finally, my boy gets the recognition he deserves.
Denal using a standard DC-15 blaster like a machine gun...true badass.
Wished he would have lived long enough to get phase 2 armor.
Wished Denal survived all the way through the series. His death would've been more heartbreaking.
Denal was my favorite clone of all time and the fact that he got killed the way he did really pissed me off.
Denal was always my place 2 from the clones its really nice to see a good video over him
I used to love this guy from an old character encyclopedia I had, I thought he was awesome, and I miss him.
He walked so Domino Squad and the Umbara squad could run.
finally, finally someone who knows who Denal is. it's shocking how many people don't know him, or just think of him as a background clone. i have a bone to pick with Cad Bane after season two. he is such a cool character and i wish we saw more of him. just imagine the million possible things that could have happened or thing that could have been different just because Denal was alive.
Denal is my favourite ever character of the prequels and his death made no sense since there were 2 clones and bane could’ve taken the white armour
I think denal should’ve been a more used character and even be included in order 66 where he finally met his end , I believe that would help with the clone wars impact of order 66 since a fan favourite clone would be killed really showing the impact if order 66 on every body
its so sad theres so many other clones who deserved much more. for example commander fil and his men. pretty much his whole squad got destroyed by entering a ship getting destroyed by a bazooka. I hate those kind of clone deaths.
Wait what ?
There were many clones who didn’t deserve to die, two of which which hit me when I was younger were Commander Fil and Commander Ponds, they didn’t deserve the deaths they got.
Denal was also featured in Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Republic Heroes as it participated in the ryloth mission with Anakin Skywalker and Ashoka Tano after ryloth was freed from the CIS occupation. The mission was to destroy the remaining droids
THese are some 501st phase 1 soldiers who fought in the clone wars: Ridge, Seargent Coric, Rex, Kix, Hardcase, Jesse, Seargent Hez, Attie, Nax, Zeer, Del, Hil, Denal, Koho, Ged, Gunner, Sarge, Kano, Boomer, Ince, Jinx, Vere, Flash Joc, Lucky, Lunn, Ross, Redeye, Mixer, Cameron and Boro
I actually named my Old Republic character after Denal. I wish we got more from him. I loved his design.
This is Canon for me!
I wish we saw more of Denal
Every Clone is a hero, they all had the same nightmare and the same goal, they would complete their mission at ANY cost like Heavy for example on the Rishi Moon Outpost, so ALL clones are heroes, not all clones are given their moments but in reality, they are true and brave warriors.
Denal. One of the few Clone's I have an Action Figure of.
Theres a XCOM 2 Clone trooper mod where there was fantasy 501st and ARC trooper armors for all of Domino Squad had they survived, wish Denal had got one
