Hey Mike, I did not get the usual buzz or magic that I have come to expect from your demos; I believe that the reference photo is to blame. It simply does not constitute an exciting subject to paint, in my humble opinion. You are however still by far, the most prolific artist to watch on TH-cam!
Hi Mekky, I think it is a question of taste :) I personally really liked the reference photo. Not everyone is going to love all the same things! I hope you will like the next one :)
Hi Michael, The background information on this photo is intriguing, to say the least. Sounds like an awesome adventure. I'd love to visit the area when we can safely travel again. Beautiful painting. ❤️ Love the music selection.
Great atmosphere in the scene and the painting. One question: the head of the llama in the foreground is lower than the head of the other two. Is it a baby? Otherwise, it would mean the foreground road is lower than the rest of the road.
This seemed much more challenging Michael, but turned out as good as usual. Very atmospheric. I noticed in the first wash you used colours not exactly in the photo. How do you decide which? Also, your darks are beautifully dark. Are they tube consistency? Thanks for another amazing demo.
Thanks a lot, Barbara! I change the tone and the composition sometimes following the mood I want to represent, there is no exact science behind it :) I get my dark colors by mixing the colors in my standard palette, which you can find in video description! This way , since the colors in my palette are all transparent, the dark mixes are also transparent, which is paramount for watercolor, in my opinion!
Sorry, Pamela! The angle changing happens for a practical purpose: I change the camera when on the main camera, my hand blocks the view of what I am painting. So the goal is to make it as useful as I possibly can.
Maestro Solovjev ❤️
Awww, thanks, Georgina!

I got to Lake Titicaca, yes it is a beautiful light and you’ve captured the atmosphere.
Thanks a lot, Sundararaju! I am glad you loved the light.
Amazing as always
Thanks a lot, Roberto!
Buenisimo!!!!sos lo Mas!!!!!! Un abrazo desde Buenos Aires
Gracias, Silvia! Saludos desde Montreal!
grazie ! La realtà diventa romanzesca!
Grazie mille, Paola!
At high altitude the air is cleaner and the lake reflects more light, always the case. But this is an urban scene that captures atmosphere.
Thanks Sundararaju, glad I was able to capture it!
Hermoso como siempre.
Aún así, continuó prefiriendo el retrato.
Thanks, Helena! There will be more portraits in the future :)
Michael, you are a "clair-obscur" champion 2021. Thanks for your beautiful work.
Thanks a lot, Yves!!!

Your hand and paintbrush were dancing to the music, awesome!
Thanks a lot, Paula! I really liked the music :)

Beautiful painting. ❤️
Love the music selection.
Me too, Darnelle! Sounds like such a fascinating place! Thanks so much!

Dear Pamela, if you look at the reference photo, there is a high probability that the llama in the foreground is actually a dog :)
This seemed much more challenging Michael, but turned out as good as usual. Very atmospheric. I noticed in the first wash you used colours not exactly in the photo. How do you decide which? Also, your darks are beautifully dark. Are they tube consistency? Thanks for another amazing demo.

The end is too fast! I want to see the finished picture for longer . Please! Please!
That is a fair point, Sungying, so I made finished pictures available on my website! www.watercoloronline.com/travel-by-art
Beautiful. Not so much the "music"
Thanks! Sorry to hear you did not like the music. I personally did, but that's a question of taste :)
All the changing angles for viewing make this particular demo not as useful. I do really like the underpainting.
Sorry, Pamela! The angle changing happens for a practical purpose: I change the camera when on the main camera, my hand blocks the view of what I am painting. So the goal is to make it as useful as I possibly can.
Who are the ''5'' who didn't like this video😈😈😈....
Don't worry, Gigi, not everyone likes the same things, and it is okay :) I am glad you liked it :)
