I mean, I was kinda thinking about this, the reason why I’d compare it to rocket league over soccer directly is because of the fact both soccer in this and rocket league have a massively oversized ball, but it’s still basically soccer either way
Great video! The fact that the developers said they couldn't top Wii Sports Resort and Wii Sports makes me wish that they ported it to Switch. They would have put Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort in the same package, kind of like Super Mario 3D All Stars. I hope Nintendo will learn from this and even port Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort to the next Nintendo console now that there are so many rumours about it. I'm sure they will be able to port those two games to the next Nintendo console. They could add Online Play which would be a really nice addition because that would be fun. They could make the same level system for Online Play as for Offline Play, but with a slightly higher pro level. And I don't want a menu like in Switch Sports but similar to Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort. Make somewhere in the bottom even if Online Play on and off. Edit: I believe that the port to the new Nintendo console, if it came, would be much more popular because of Online Play and not just because of that. There would probably be a lot more videos on TH-cam of people playing Wii Sports online. Wii Sports + Resort was pretty damn good so I wouldn't be surprised at all that the port would get a lot of popularity. I wouldn't think that port would be as dead as Switch Sports and I think that's for sure.

I've not played it yet, but based on your video and what others have said, Switch Sports is great at what it does. The issue seems like there's simply not much that you can do. One of my favourite things to do in Wii Sports was to earn medals in the training / minigames area. It really felt like more love was put into the originals whereas this seems to lack the charming extra bits that we all loved :(

Honestly i think this game is pretty great yeah the little easter eggs which was removed are a bit of a downer but we did get other things come back that brings nostalgia, like the option to vs the Legends like matt with them just releasing basketball i hope they bring back something like baseball still in the end great game

After 150 hour in this game, and going pro in every sport. I can honestly say this game is my favorite iteration of the Nintendo Sports IP. As a kid playing offline trying to beat my best score got very boring. So the addition of online makes this game wayyyyy better. Only negative is you can’t train, and we needed more sports.
I started this similar w release buy and again recently picking it back up. I quit before bc of the bot AI affecting game outcome a lot in soccer which is my favorite like the goal keeping and their inability to score most of the time in a normal scoring circumstance. Then there is a skill level much higher that the computer doesn’t match w ppl “helicoptering” to higher altitudes making interception very difficult bc they’re at max height by the time i get there. Then the goalie misses it over his head when it’s an easy block. When I turned rank off, I started enjoying it again but always thankful it wasn’t rank. Rocket league just too much and over the top for me and I don’t want to have to get a PhD in soccer to play online fifa. Golf awesome but would be nice to see more course variability in online. It’s almost perfect though. Same w tennis and should’ve had tennis scoring but still solid and fun. Volleyball too teammate dependent and bots just can’t win it for your you despite perfect set. Like soccer, it’s like they want you to do it not the bots but it can’t be reliable to score and have fun this way. Badminton not my favorite and I haven’t really played it much or chambra. Not that interested. Bowling solid. I wish there was as more pro bowling than the garden variety. It’s like a 5:1 ratio or more. Basketball terrible. It’s like a game and watch game w how limited. Almost not worth it. You can’t pump fake. For such a free flowing game, it’s like a rail shooter.
It’s a game I want to try again soon, so I can give basketball a go and compare it to Wii Sports Resort, cause I LOVED basketball in WSR. Though switch sports is good , it’s just not as good as previous entries in the series which is a real shame honestly
I finally played Basketball, don't know if I agree to be honest. It's definitely different from Wii Sports Resort, but I think it's pretty solid, definitely a step up from the WSR Version

Like the frying pan tennis racket or the shrimp and rice bowling ball😂 seriously the Wii version I would just play alone against CPU with no rewards system in place which gets very stale. In this I love to test my true skills and since I’m pro online the completion is fierce.💯 IDK Nintendo Sports is my favorite Nintendo IP besides Mario Kart💯

I think I could say that I'd rather have other forms of charm than outfits and unlockable hairstyles. Every generic game does that. It’s a real shame they didn’t bring Miis back, but at least the new art style isn’t horrific, but agreed the rewards are pretty generic and not a standout feature these days
They sucked all the fun out of it, it would be funny to see other players mii creations because you could make them look like anyone, now they have these huge eyes with a cartoony style and all look the same. Im not a huge fan of that.
Though Miis are definitely better, I don’t hate the new cartoony style. It’s more that, any cosmetics are locked behind playtime and so many people won’t play super often, so won’t have that many cosmetics and are stuck with base cosmetics, which makes everyone look the same
