1. Be Thou my vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art.
Thou my best thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.
2. Be Thou my wisdom, and Thou my true word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son;
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.
3. Be Thou my battle shield, sword for the fight;
Be Thou my dignity, Thou my delight;
Thou my soul’s shelter, Thou my high tower:
Raise Thou me heavenward, O power of my power.
4. Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise,
Thou mine Inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art.
5. High King of Heaven, my victory won,
May I reach Heaven’s joys, O bright Heaven’s sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my vision, O Ruler of all.
I love that song! It touches my heart every time i hear it.
I think it means let me see through Jesus’ eyes, giving me his desires, making his will mine, guiding my every step.
Thou my Great Father, and I thy true son (child), Thou in me dwell and I with Thee one!
Thank you for this. I never knew this.. i love the whole but the line i love most is...
Thou in me dwelling and i with Thee one. I'm so grateful He loves me and lives in my heart always.
Can't wait to see Him! Come Lord Jesus! Amen
Thank you so much for explaining the meaning of this song. It is one of my favourites. It brings encouragement and joy to my soul with tears. ❤️🙏 One day, we shall all sit at he feet of Jesus and worship our God.
I love God with all my heart
Thank you.. I have chosen this for my funeral farewell…now I know it’s perfect .God bless you abundantly 👏🙋🏻♀️🙏🙏

One of my favorite hymns. Speaks directly to my heart 🙏 🙏 🙏
Amen. I feel the same.
Oh MY Da beloved of all from Odish-Terran to the veil in the snow, Come too Three-in- One forever.
❤ "Heart of my own heart" ❤
Thank you so much for this one. It reaches my heart, its so beautiful and the words so profound. Its brings tears to my eyes and joy to my heart.⛪
Beautiful Irish tune is called "Slane". Slane is a small village in C Meath, where there is a small hill. The hill is the location where Patrick lit his fire to celebrate Easter. The pagan King ordered his druid priests to challenge Patrick, but of course Patrick had his breastplate and sword to protect him and he was not harmed in the battle. That protection is Our Risen Lord and Saviour.
The whole Hymn is wonderful! Truly explains how I love Jesus❤ But one part that really touches my heart "Heart of my own heart..." Those words, to know my Lord Jesus is my Heart! That close relationship, I'm in His heart as well... So close, so safe, such peace that transcends all understanding... Just to be in my Saviour's presence every hour, every second of every day... And for eternity with my Lord!
7:37. "High King of heaven, my Treasure Thou art!"
Thank you brother, for taking the time to glorify our Lord Jesus. God bless you!
Great hymns. Language left to its originality is beautiful. Great lyrics. All glory to God.
Beautiful hymn every line touches my heart thank you you make my day Luke God bless you
I enjoyed your commentary on this beautiful song. It is special because you have given an excellent interpretation while still asking the listener their spiritual state. Your voice is so pleasant and soothing; a joy to listen to and enjoy The Word.
Deep, stirs my soul like no other
Thank you so much for a passionate performance
What a delightful program you have! Your voice is so pleasant to listen to. I enjoy your commentaries and your joy of the Lord. Thank you for your program. I really enjoy it. I especially love this hymn.
One of my favourites. The words are amazing.
I went up onto The Hill of Tara and stood looking across to the Hill of Slane with it playing on my headphones. Magical.
Loved singing it at the church my daughter and her family attend in Ireland. A favourite of mine.
Be thou my vision ohhh Lord
The first time I heard that Hymn
I ❤ it very much .
📚📖😇🙏✝️🎺❤️👑👍
I love this old tune and lyrics. I've read in several resources that the monk who wrote it was going blind at the time he wrote it.
I especially love the verse be thou my battle shield and sword for the fight.
Thank you so much for this anointed video. 😊
I love this hymn. It is what I aspire to always.
I love this hymn for the words and it’s origin my gramma was from Ireland
I hear this on the radio every day on the way to work. Love this hymn. We use to sing Saint Patrick’s Breastplate from the 1940 hymnal. I wonder what this beautiful hymn sounds like in Gaelic. Be Thou My Vision- a treasure of a hymn. Thank you for your Friday hymn videos.
A good prayer. I love this song. Thank you for explaining it to me. Every line is special.
I just Love this beautiful song
What a wonderful Hymn, it always touches my heart. Praise the Lord.
A great favourite of mine. A very manley hymn indeed. Thank you for this clip. If you can find it, listen to the version recorded by Glad.
Love the story behind that beautiful hymn
When we are in a situation, having problems, do not look down at your problems. we need to look up to the Lord Jesus Christ who is sitting on the throne, then you will enlighten to see yourself / your negative side. Repent, He will wash you clean, change you, transform you to grow up into Him and bring glory to His Name. Amen.
I know a lot of hymns, but don't remember singing this one, until I heard the music without the words while recovering from covid a couple of years ago. Just a few weeks ago, I heard the stirring and insightful words so excellently expressing what a believer's relationship with the Lord should be. My favorite line is "Be thou my wisdom, and thou my true word." 2 Timothy 2:15 📖 Thank you, Luke
Beautiful!
Being of Scot-Irish heritage, I enjoy the doctrine, history etc. For me it has special place. It was sung at my first born daughters memorial service. Praise to the King
I have Loved this Hymn since away back in Primary School days & what a Great Hymn it is.
Wow, great story. Thanks for.
Love the Words . "HEART OF MY OWN HEART " 💕
Love this! My dad hosted a Methodist radio show every Sunday for years as I grew up, called Vision. The intro was: Where there is no vision, the people perish. He's been a "closet" metaphysicst (?) his whole adult life 🤫😂 This hymn makes me feel close to my dad, who introduced me to the concept and verse.
When I grew up, the only name I could come up with for my business was Vision. This song encouraged me thru a tough startup, reminding me of my "why". Thanks for this video.
I love this hymn and if I feel not the presence the Lord I sing it and then my heart also sings
Kindly do this hymn "Above the Hills of Time" it's one of my most favorites 🥺♥️ God bless you!
This book I have attributes st Patrick's with this song
