Hey Jared Love the videos, very informative. With regards to using the needle nose pliers to remove the oil filter. I always had a beggar of a time and could never do it. I think my filters have a smoother inner edge. So what I do is just use a small strong magnet and it pulls it out no problem. Just a little tip that may help yourself or some of your viewers that had the same issues when removing the oil filter. 👍
Hey Jared, I just did my first oil change on my 500 RRS, motor have 6 hours, mileage is about 170, transmission oil was Cristal clear and motor was barely started to get a black color. I follow your directions as well, thank you
Just picked up a 2023 430 rr-s 280 miles from a guy. 10K.....! Watched your vid on warming up bike no throttle till fan kicked on. Bike ran awsome after that. Keep on Rippin"
Great Tips! I certainly rock the bike back and forth and I suppose my limited filming experience allowed me to forget to show that! It is important to at least hold the bike completely vertical as more oil will come out. Enjoy the ride, Jared
Thank you very much for this video, this is very helpful. Forgive me if I'm being daft but I'm not seeing the part numbers in the description. In particular, I'm having trouble finding the o-rings. I was able to read one of them off the package in your video but can't identify the others.
Good comment! Beta also offers a full downable pdf of the owner manual, service manual and accessory directions on their consumer website: betausa.com/support/
Good Evening, I will consider that and the next time I have my race bike in the shop I can do that for you! Subscribe to get notification for when that happens!
Something I found interesting about the oil changes and discrepancy's between US/Italy service/owners manuals. There is conflicting information regarding what oil is recommended for a 500 RR-S. On the Beta USA website under "Support", I found the 2021 500 RR-S Service Manual and Owners Manual. -The Service Manual states Liqui Moly racing Synth 10W50 for both Gear/Clutch and Engine. (page 169) -The Owners Manual states Motul 7100 10W40 for Engine, and Motul Transoil 10W40 for Gear and Clutch. (page 15) I contacted Beta about this, and they responded. One reason for the discrepancy is due to one being the Italian version, and the other the USA. Beta USA has a partnership with Motul, and recommends this brand in the US. Also, the Beta service rep informed me that if I wanted to use the same oil for both the Gear/Clutch and Engine (like the Italy version suggests), it's totally fine to do so. He recommended the Motul 7100 10W40 or Motul 300 V 10/40 for both sides. I've been using Motul 7100 10W40 in both sides of my bike, with great results.
I've just done my first oil change with the Motul 7100 in both sides as well. The manual I got in Australia for a 2022 model recommends LIQUI MOLY RACING SYNTH 10W50 for both sides. I might try different oil in the gearbox later to see how it goes as the ability to run different oils is an advantage to the split design.
@@laxmoto3119 I appreciate the response! I've done about 4-5 oil changes now, always using Motul 7100. Haven't had any issues. I'd be interested to hear if you change your gearbox oil and how that works out for you.
So 750 ml. + 750 ml. equals 1.5 liter. I believe the KTM 500 EXC-F has a 1.2 liter oil capacity. Should I assume the Beta 390 or 500 RS in theory should have a much longer " real world " service interval? Great video.
Hey, thanks. Quik question. I have Beta 2022 350 rr. It was unused for 3 months and now, I am back and want to change the oil. Should I warm up first the bike?
Good Morning! I am unsure of labeled fill plugs but if you are looking for the billet red caps that come on the Race Edition models we can certainly help with that! Enjoy The Ride, Jared
Good Morning! I will be doing an updated oil change video for the newer 2023 bikes. The new video won't be about the brand of oil as I will still be using Motul oils. Beta is recommending the LiquiMoly as they are the title sponsor for the Factory Beta race team. The updated video will be discussing the proper filling process for the engine side. Stay tuned for that video as I get time on our shop build 390 Race Edition.
Thanks for watching! In the past Maxima was a brand we ran and had good luck with. Beta is also now pushing the Liqui Moly brand here in the US, I'm sure a local motorcycle shop in other counties should know what to use while visiting there, I don't have any experience riding anywhere else but here in the states. Enjoy, Jared
Sandviper1 The answer is yes, you can use the engine oil on both. It’s slightly more expensive that way as the engine oil costs more. This was the advice given to me by my dealer who sold me 10w50 for my new bike here in Australia.
I "carelessly" put more than 750ml of oil so I have to drain some back. Does the side glass window gives you any indication of proper amount and where would the oil have to be? Any other ways I could try to have the proper amount of oil without draining it all and putting it back in?
Good Afternoon, the sight glass is used when the bike is running. Once the bike has been running for 25 seconds the oil should be 3/4 of the way up the sight glass. Enjoy the ride, Jared
sure torqueing with dyno is best way to over torque and kill threads and bolts as torque value is given for dry , and there is always oil on bolt and threads. Best way to learn how to extract bolts :) :) :) :)
Good Morning, yes I would consider watching our new oil change video as I think it will help you not overfill the engine compartment. Enjoy The Ride, Jared
Good Afternoon, thanks for checking out our video! I have a few other videos on the channel that might interest you. One is a video that I remap a bike using the Beta tool, the race models can be remapped to work with the FMF exhaust. The second video is me riding that bike a few months ago down south and you can hear how good that bike sounds with the silencer, and yes I really enjoy adding the FMF to our bikes. It wakes them up a bit and gives them a good tone. Thanks for watching, Jared
Hmm I usually run the Transoil in the gear box size and the Motel 4100 in the engine side like the video shows. As long as what you bought works with wet clutches you should be fine! Enjoy the ride, Jared
Good Afternoon, thanks for watching! We just add oil to the rubber end so it slides over the case nub easier. No need to add oil to the filter as we fill it in the stator cover. Thanks, Jared
Hey, I would recommend changing the oil a bit sooner than that, typically we are every 4 or 5 races or 20 hours of trail riding. Some guys do it even sooner after a total mud race. Just depends on the riding. Thanks, Jared
Good Morning, we recommend if you are racing a 4-stroke to do it every 2-3 races. For trail riders you can push it out to 10-15 hours. On a 2-stroke we would recommend gear box oil every 8 hours! Enjoy the ride, Jared
Good Morning, every model is different and Beta even just came out with a new procedure that I will include here: th-cam.com/video/MwDbmT5PGrU/w-d-xo.html
I certainly rock the bike back and forth and I suppose my limited filming experience allowed me to forget to show that! It is important to at least hold the bike completely vertical as more oil will come out. Enjoy the ride, Jared
These Beta videos are incredibly helpful. Thanks!
Glad you like them! Keep in mind that we offer discounts on all OEM Beta Parts/ accessories! Thanks for watching, Jared
this guy is incredible!

Another excellent video. Thank you.
I remove the fill caps before draining and once oil has mostly drained out I tip the bike back and forth a few times to get the rest of the oil out.

have the same question! looking for part numbers and cant seem to find them!
Just in case:
10nm on the oil filter cover.
*DO NOT* over tighten.
Good comment!

It would be great if you could make a service video on how to bleed the clutch properly? I think you've got about everything covered other than that!

Very helpful videos. But I gotta ask.....what's up with the Boss 302? Awesome!!!!
What mustang? lol... It's my parents car. We joke it's the delivery car. Thanks for the comment and enjoy the ride, Jared
It is a KTM, the color gives it away 😉

will you use potato 1w 17 oil if beta has business negotiated with them to get it at low
cost and so advice to use it on every manual ??? ;) ;) ;) ;)

Hey, thanks. Quik question.
I have Beta 2022 350 rr. It was unused for 3 months and now, I am back and want to change the oil. Should I warm up first the bike?
What type of oil (engine & transmission) do you recommend for a 2015 beta 390 rr? Gr from Holland!
Good Afternoon, we have always used the Motul oil! Enjoy The Ride, Jared
so 10w40 isn't a problem for an older model like the 2015? That said, i really enjoy your videos! Keep up the good work!! 💪
Where can I get the red LABELED engine and Trans fill plug caps? Mine are unlabeled and I don't ever get them mixed up. Great video. Thanks
Good Morning! I am unsure of labeled fill plugs but if you are looking for the billet red caps that come on the Race Edition models we can certainly help with that! Enjoy The Ride, Jared
Jarred ,did you see on the 2023 oil guide for setup they want you to use the same oil for engine and trans, liquimoly 4T 10W/50

Great video, just to confirm the clutch is in with the transmission oil ? Thanks
Good Evening! That is correct, transmission oil is the same compartment with the clutch. The other side is engine oil only. Enjoy The Ride, Jared
Many thanks @@3SeasRecreation
What are your thoughts on the Scott's stainless reusable filter?
750ml for a 2017 rr350?
Can you make a video of other oils I can use? For example, traveling around the world and you cannot find these two types of 10w40.

sorry for all the questions did the FMF pipe make a difference did you have to do anything regarding the tune

Do you not need to add oil to the paper oil filter before you install it ?
