ONGC's stature is getting smaller year by year. The system that is currently working on the ground is terrible.
(1) The management wants to reduce its employee cost and adjust the retirement and recruitment numbers to 28-29k by the end of 2022 (initially it was 33k) and limit it to 24k by the end of 2028. (This statement is not mine, but of Trilochan Singh Kshatriya (as per trilochan singh kshatri it will be at the end of 2022) TRILOCHAN SINGH KSHATRI - ongc employe, this was the target of ongc in 2022, but after the arrival of new CMD, ongc targets to reduce the number of employees to less than 18000 by 2027. The target is to have 12-15 thousand employees by 2030.
2) ONGC was going to make selection for non-executive post, but in 2023-4 the new CMD put an immediate stop on that selection (recruitment) process, from now onwards ONGC will not conduct any process for non-executive post in future. (This post was such a post which was very important, big and executive at the ground level, by cancelling which one can guess what the intention of the company is.)
3) Yes there will be vacancies on GATE but their number will be negligible, very less, its effects will be seen within the next 2 years. Perhaps its effect will be seen in 2025 itself.
The new CMD does not agree with direct ONGC recruitment (government). On the contrary, he wants to hire new employees through non-governmental or semi-governmental methods. The new CMD will be in office till 2026 and there is a high possibility that his tenure will be extended. Since the internal high officials and officers of ONGC were not happy with this decision, that is why he has been brought in 2023.
