I'm looking for something my polaris ranger xp 1000 northstar utv do you think this will work in it like does the atenna have to be magnetic onto roof can I just put a 3m tape under it and mount it to my plastic hood
We have spoken to customers who do not mount the antenna on the outside of the vehicle but instead place it on the dash and it works for them! While that can work, it does not always guarantee that the SiriusXM tuner will get enough signal to play the stations.
I currently do not have a vehicle radio, this would be for my RV. Can this connect directly to a Bluetooth speaker? Is there a way to hook up the RV/Marine antenna to this unit?
The SiriusXM SXVRBT1 does support Audio streaming (A2DP) to a compatible Bluetooth enabled speaker. The Bluetooth option must be selected in the Audio Output in order to make the wireless connection.
Nice car! The only replacement antenna we offer is magnetic: www.crutchfield.com/I-rYALc921/p_220NGVA3/item.html This means you will need to consider another way to secure the antenna in this application. You could also consider streaming via the SXM in this vehicle instead to avoid the need for mounting an antenna.
@@crutchfield thx but tried the app, major stuttering fail.... So magnetic antenna is sitting on the lip at the rear hatch latch under the glass, receiving very good reception 👍
You can use the antenna included with the SVX300V1 or maintain your factory SXM antenna using the adaptor here: www.crutchfield.com/I-rYALc921/p_794ANTSAT2/item.html
We do not have a device that can take this units 3.5mm aux audio output and convert it to USB-C. If USB-C is the only cable input, then you will need to use either the Bluetooth or FM transmitter to get the audio into the car stereo
HI Ned, if your car stereo supports Bluetooth Audio streaming (A2DP), not just Bluetooth phone protocol, you can pair the devices from the car stereo to Roady BT. You can find instructions for setting up the Bluetooth staring on page 47 of the manual here: pdf.crutchfieldonline.com/ImageBank/v20220429171900/Manuals/220/220SXMROAD.PDF
Just so service is available, this could be an ideal option. You can expect to get SiriusXM Satellite Radio within the 48 contiguous US states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico (with some limitations), Canada, up to 150 nautical miles out into the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, the Gulf of Mexico, the Caribbean Sea, and the Great Lakes. What model JL head unit are you using?
So if I connect this by Bluetooth, and my phone is also connected by Bluetooth, what will happen when my phone rings? Will the phone override the radio, allow me to talk, and then reconnect with the radio after I hang up?
Most vehicles only allow a single Bluetooth source connection at a time. This Sirius XM SXVRBT1 Roady can send a Bluetooth signal to your vehicle's radio, but you cannot connect a phone to this unit for hands-free calling. If you were listening with Bluetooth with the Roady you cannot also make a hands-free call. If you need to remain connected with your phone for calling, you can always use the XM app through your smart phone over Bluetooth!
This is not expected to respond to commands from the stock radio and its steering wheel radio controls. The channel selection is only rated to work through the controls on the Roady BT.
Do you know if this would work in my son’s 2001 Toyota truck that he refuses to sell but complains he can’t listen to all the SiriusXM sports 🤦♀️ I don’t think it has any Bluetooth capability. Thank you.
With an older stereo that lacks Bluetooth or an aux input connection, you can still use the Roady BT with any existing FM radio by adding this FM adapter to play it back through an unused FM station/frequency: www.crutchfield.com/I-rYALc928/p_607FMDA25/FM-Direct-Adapter.html
This tuner is only designed to work in a vehicle and not in the home with any home receiver. We do offer other dock and play tuners that can work in a vehicle as well as the home. Here's on such example: www.crutchfield.com/I-rFBKc227/p_700TOURKIT/item.html
Sorry to hear that. Keep in mind, the car stereo must support Bluetooth Audio streaming (A2DP), not just Bluetooth phone protocol. You'll find instructions for setting up the Roady BT via Bluetooth on page 21 of the manual here: pdf.crutchfieldonline.com/ImageBank/v20220429171900/Manuals/220/220SXMROAD.PDF If you got the tuner here, you can call our Tech Support. Their direct number is on your invoice.
You could use an extension cable or two with the port in your trunk to help use the power adapter included in this package. the extensions can be found here: www.crutchfield.com/I-rYALc227/p_598GC019/item.html
If the Aux or Bluetooth option cannot be utilized, a third option is to connect the Roady BT to your stereo via FM. An FM Direct Adapter FMDA25: www.crutchfield.com/I-rYALc921/p_607FMDA25/item.html With the FM Direct Adapter, you must select an unused FM frequency on the Roady BT's display. The satellite radio signal is modulated onto this frequency. You must tune the exact same frequency on your car stereo in order to hear SiriusXM programming.
We do have other SXM tuner options you can use at home. Do you have an existing audio system you can connect the tuner to or would you need a speaker setup as well?
I'M GOING TO ASK A SUPER SILLY QUESTION. As a Spaniard and European, I don't find any use to this device, it's bad I think that here no one uses satellite radio, I think that there is no service, we all use AM/FM or DAB+ and now it's all streaming, what does this satellite system bring to traditional radio??
SiriusXM provides service in the U.S., Puerto Rico, and Canada only. You cannot use this device outside of those locations. SiruisXM satellite radio provides more content variety and higher sound quality than standard over-the-air radio broadcasts, so if you are living in the U.S, Puerto Rico, and Canada you could take advantage of it!
is your satellite Roady available in retailers such as Best Buy or would be purchase from Crutchfield? I am trying to retrofit my 2006 jaguar. TY
HI Jim, we do carry the Roady BT here at Crutchfield: www.crutchfield.com/I-rYALc921/p_220SXMROAD/item.html
Crutchfield had to mount it on the windshield in my 2024 Civic LX sedan. Hoping exposure to the sun does not cause it to fall off.
Hope it holds up well for you too! What did you use to mount it?
