Louisiana has been a location for filming far longer than the last 20 years just under that tax credit. Hundreds if not thousands have been filmed here going all the way back to the original 'Tarzan" movie 1918. I'm 62 and worked in radio and TV here. When I was young, my first boss at a La. radio station had been the first head of the Louisiana Film Commission after it was created in 1972 to encourage Hollywood to film more often in La. They would fly to L.A. and pitch Louisiana as a film site to Hollywood as it has almost every type of terrain and topography plus varied urban settings from large city to tiny hamlets. A lot of the North and South miniseries of the 80's was filmed here, The Beguiled a Clint Eastwood movie, Interview with a Vampire, True Blood, The Big Easy, Steel Magnolias, Easy Rider just to name a VERY few.
