Last ten minutes of this interview gave me straight up chills! I’ve had my issues with honesty, and hearing you give such a dead on explanation of the root cause of the problem shook me to the core. Thank you so much Lush, your honesty is empowering and gives me so much hope for the future.
Been aware of Lush since 2009, it's been a hell of a ride, always compelling. Through some very dark days it's been inspirational to see him battling his addictions and come out on top.

Proud of you Lush! I went to Anacappa in port hueneme too. December of 1999 I was 17. My parents had me at 39 years old and I'm an only child so when I started smoking chronic at 15 they flipped. I had only been smoking weed no legal trouble no hard drugs but my drug counselor at action IOP recommend to my parents to have me committed to Anacappa when I refused to quit smoking weed. Spent 17 days at Anacappa and got released days before my 18th birthday when I would have been able to walk out of Anacappa anyway. Almost got kicked out of Notre Dame down the street but went back to my high school as the rehab kid and graduated. screw action, Cary quashen, and Anacappa! saw you at the live show at the novo on Friday, been a long time no jumper viewer. Lush is killing it now!
It’s crazy how our minds will block out abuse. I have amazing memory, I can remember back till 3 years old clearly and even glimpses and memories from when I would have been 2. I was molested at 4 and I have absolutely no recollection of it until my sister brought it up recently. She was shocked that I didn’t remember 😔
Related to Lush a lot, especially when he said he looked for happiness in other people and wanting other people to think he’s so great. Haven’t listened to him on No Jumper too much but I definitely will start to. Much love brotha
Addiction is a real bitch. Beating it is a true trophy to carry w yourself too. Lush, hearing you talk on here and on no jumper definitely helped me get myself sober. Sobriety sucks but addiction pain and so much agony sucks even worse.
Once gripped, you never beat addiction. You learn to live with it, and control its urges, but you never beat it. It’s a daily decision to remain clean, and to remember that addiction does not define you. You got this homie 👍🏼
This interview is so 🔥. Lush, absolutely love your storytelling. So relatable so many memorable quotes. "The most frowned upon thing in rehab, besides doing drugs, is doing anything sexual with the other patients..." You told that whole interview in 1 take. Legendary bruh. Thank you. 💯💯💯

He also makes some good music and had done a lot of battling back in the day as well. So dope getting to hear a interview with him as intimate as this one.

I doubt any therapist would be able to gather as much information in one session as much as Mark in 60 minutes. And to top it off be awarded and have your profiled in his hall of fame.

Really needed to hear this . Like A breath of fresh air. Been on the fence with intrusive thoughts of relapse. Really really good at telling people don’t give up before the miracle. Push through. Don’t believe a lie. And I do believe that wholeheartedly. But sometimes when your emotions aren’t right and you like change the way you feel. It’s very hard. Hearing his share just re-solidifies. Specially at the end when he says if had he relapsed it would’ve made it worse .basically don’t quit right before the miracle. It’s just give me enough this morning to start my day on a better note than what I woke up to.
Jolene please know whatever you are going through that's giving you thoughts of relapsing is temporary. You deserve to be happy and healthy. Please don't let these thoughts outweigh your sobriety. Thinking of you. You got this!!!!

Lush is a very interesting and credible person. t is good that he dispels the myth that any young man who is seduced by an older woman is supposed to be happy because he got laid. I love his discription of Luxembourg. This is so true, and it is probably the tiniest country on the planet. You nailed it Lush; keep it sober, keep it honest, and keep it real. There is no need for a facade in a wourld where most people are exhausting themselves trying to maintain one.
Oh yes, he explains things like everyone was born in the USA ( geographically challenged). And second, being seduced by an older woman and making up stories of ' abuse' by a babysitter is major BS. No, bro, nobody made you do drugs but you. Do not transfer responsibility but own your mistakes.

Yes Lush is a certified legend in the game.
Lush is an icon in the culture
Last ten minutes of this interview gave me straight up chills! I’ve had my issues with honesty, and hearing you give such a dead on explanation of the root cause of the problem shook me to the core. Thank you so much Lush, your honesty is empowering and gives me so much hope for the future.
🌽🌽🌽
Been aware of Lush since 2009, it's been a hell of a ride, always compelling. Through some very dark days it's been inspirational to see him battling his addictions and come out on top.
I'm super happy that you maintained your sobriety. Also, I really appreciate his extreme level of honesty and his willingness to step out of his comfort zone and the moment he did that every word out of his mouth was just straight genuine wholesome facts. That level of honesty is really what changes people's lives and helps people that listen to this podcast
lush a real one
U BELIEVED THIS CRAP.
@@doubleaatwins do u even kno about the man...i mean before this interview?
@@doubleaatwins I mean yeah I did because he's being brutally honest and his perspective on himself as a shitty person isn't getting him any browny points 🥶 this man wasn't even a hardcore criminal he just lead a fucked up life and that part at the end where he admitted how he was dishonest and got super super on depth explaining how he uses his lying as an emotional crush was some REAL ass shit
i love his story telling lol
I really recommend listening to the end. That last 10-15 minutes was really powerful and relatable to most of us, addicts or not.
Lush gave us a really great in depth transparent interview into his ups, and downs in this rollercoaster we call life. I have a lot of good memories from the "Grindtime" days. Thanks for the memories bro, and congrats on your sobriety peace g.
So proud of you Lush. An icon in the culture and such a multifaceted and talented individual. In entertainment, people tend to think that they know you and they do not. Thank you for sharing, this is such an amazing insight to your life and another important lesson in not judging a book by its cover.
Damn. He dug deep and spoke from the heart acknowledging his narcissistic ways out loud as he reminds himself he is putting effort into doing better.
Honestly speaking from the heart has a powerful force behind it that can bring profound transformation for oneself and others. Just incredible
I can't with these child abusers who don't CARE how they set these children's lives on a tragic and painful path!! This has got to be STOPPED somehow, someway! Thanks, Lush for sharing your story, Never be embarrassed because this was NEVER your fault!! It was Their SICK SELVES! Much love and respect to you for doing this ❤️
predator poaching!
u sound like a person who would spend time supporting someone who needs help.
this guy on youtube tried doing something to stop a predator, exposed them online and called the cops.
the cops charged the predator poacher with the same charge as the predator.
looking up a video titled: " 63 year old lures 13 year old for sex" the user name : "catterpillar" with two Ts.

I was sexually abused by this reggae singer at my dad's bar, it's something that happened, I don't give him any power fuck him.
Lush was a huge part of the west coast rap battle scene and it’s awesome seeing him on this channel. Great interview
Lush ur the best thing that’s happened to no jumper in a long time. U really deserve to be happy..plz stay strong you have the opportunity of a lifetime with Adam and them. U got this . Love bro
On a serious note. I learned a lot about lush here and I truly appreciate that he chose to come to soft white to talk about it.
Dude has cemented himself in the battle rap culture. Thanks for sharing lush...
Juss barely at 20:18 time stamp and your comment is the 2nd × I have read about no jumper what does that mean ??
@@jen-ms4xo no jumper is a TH-cam channel,
That lush works on he does interviews and podcast on the channel called no jumper
@@jen-ms4xo definitely go look up no jumper its been my fav media channel for like 6 years
It’s crazy how our minds will block out abuse.
Amazing interview mark! I’ve been waiting to hear lush’s story I think we need a part 2 ASAP. This could have been 2 or 3 hours no problem
Lush relapsed hard
This interview is so 🔥. Lush, absolutely love your storytelling. So relatable so many memorable quotes. "The most frowned upon thing in rehab, besides doing drugs, is doing anything sexual with the other patients..." You told that whole interview in 1 take. Legendary bruh. Thank you. 💯💯💯
Been following Lush since 2008ish just from battle rap! Dude is legendary on the battle scene. He has organized some of the best and most legendary battle events in history! He also makes some good music and had done a lot of battling back in the day as well. So dope getting to hear a interview with him as intimate as this one.
Love lush’s music and hosting on no jumper. Literally obsessed with this guy but this interview taught me more about him then I ever knew. There needs to be a movie about his life. Thank you Mark!
What's no jumper??

What's happening to Adan22?
@real talk thanks. I'm going to check it out. 😎
Powerful, probably the best interview I've seen on this podcast. I wish you well on your goals and sobriety. It definitely makes me reconsider my addiction on drugs and alcohol. Thank you.
Been following him since 2013 and we are friends on Facebook! He’s a great person
Though I had no idea who this guy is.. thanks for a great interview Lush..
I doubt any therapist would be able to gather as much information in one session as much as Mark in 60 minutes. And to top it off be awarded and have your profiled in his hall of fame.
Most people aren't paid to go to therapy either, so you know... this isn't comparable.
💯% agree 👍
@@gSWG3R he not only listen but he helps those in need and a full length profile, he's art of photography is famous. "Most people" as you put it, would never receive money from a therapist, period, there's no comparison here, just the fact that it's a totally different type of community service.
@@emf3391 He's claiming in some way that this is better than going to a therapist. That's all I'm picking at here.
@@gSWG3R.. sure 👍 no problem
Been following Lush back when it was Lush One and Aspect One. Super dope seeing him moving like this.
He’s been doing a lot of podcasts with No Jumper if you wanna keep up.
@@HalfDigit what does no jumper mean ??
@@jen-ms4xo it’s a la hip hop podcast collective made by Adam 22 . Lush is a host on a few of the shows and a guest on others . look into it
@@jen-ms4xo in the hood there was a phrase that you have two options of success, basketball (sports), hustler (usually a drug dealer). So they would say either you have a good jumpshot or you hustle. As a huge No jumper fan the last ten minutes of this video really touched me. Happy for lush I wish him the best

This was great. He made me realize some of my own faults in recovery. I love how he didn’t leave God out as well 🙏🏼 I wish him all the best
Lush!! Thanks for all the KOTD memories. I loved his presence during daylyt/rich dolarz
Love the way he recalls his life up until now, thank you for telling your story Lush. Your honesty is so notable.
I also love the expression "scarmates" I can painfully relate to that lol so accurate.
Lush one hosted one of my most recent battles he’s a pillar in the battle rap culture very proud of this man and his recovery living legend!!!! #RipPatStay
#LLPS
Lush One you are gonna go far brother. No jumper may have introduced the mainstream audience to you but this certainly put you on an island on its own. You and your journey is going to go far. Bless up
Been watching Lush since Grind Time was just getting off the ground in the late 2000s/early 2010s. Fantastic interview, great to see he's doing well
Lush one, We love you and we are here. Thank you for sharing your story
Genuine west side L.A fella , authentic in articulation , finally hear someone who gets it , the recovery language , the program , actually talking the walk.
Thank you for "sharing".
Lush one of the only things left at No Jumper worth staying subbed
Mark was just a cameraman this interview 😂, shout out the lush though. I'm 39 and I found myself in a similar predicament the last 3yrs although I'm not a drug addict and have never been, but the Dynamics resonated as far as family, relationships, success etc. Best of luck much love and blessings
glad ur on the up and up now then man...stay on the right path and stay blessed fam....
The best interviews are when Mark doesn’t have to say a word
A lot of us have been waiting on this ever since he announced it. Glad to see him shining and getting his podcast career off the ground.
That’s for sure! I remember he said he was on SWU on a No Jumper clip like a month ago or so? Been looking every day ever since! Glad it finally dropped and mark didn’t vault his interview
@@ryandeponte152 Mark wouldn’t sit on this. The cross traffic from No Jumper alone will be $5k a month
Lush is an amazing storyteller and has an impressive vocabulary. I relate to his story a lot and could’ve prolly listened to this for a few more hours. Good to see another addict that is recovering
I could listen to Lush talk for such a long time.
Man, I've been watching grindtime since the beginning and I knew lush liked drugs but God damn. I've actually met lush being apart of the battle rap community and he's one of the nicest humblest guys I've ever met
Wow mark did not expect this 😮🙏🏽 so glad to hear lush open up on your platform.
It's cool to see Lush One on here. He was a big part of my middle/high school years. Battle rap was a lifesaver for me back then. The WRC's to grindtime, KOTD, and even don't flop
I know I’ve posted on no jumper also but lush has been a great role model and comic relief while dealing with hardcore grief and addiction issues
And most importantly childhood issues of abuse, it really does take a toll ... thank you for being so transparent , it’s meant a lot .
uooohhh noooo!
Damn when he told the story of how his mom didn’t know he was gonna die hits home, thank you for keeping in a stack lush
CAN I GET AN UNOOOOOooOoO?!
Lush is a legend and deserves all the respect in the world for all he’s done and been through!
Supper dope for lush to do this , great man and glad to see his life get turned around for the better I see big things for his future 🙏🏽 keep ya head up lush !
Mark let him talk and Lush carried this interview for 20-30 minutes 😮
Yeah he put my ass to sleep
I've been a fan of this Dude since 2005. I'm a battle rap junky.
I was a heroin junky as well, went to prison, got clean and have been for 7 years.
I absolutely love seeing him turn his life around and get his shit together!!
Congratulations on the sobriety, just curious did you kick cold turkey or use methadone or suboxone?
Congratulations Lush, that's awesome, I went to rehab myself for the first time this year and am finishing the year Heroin free
That is so awesome Brandon I wish you the best
Lush has some of the best energy in battle rap and he's a whole hip hop encyclopedia. So glad to see this man getting some more exposure. If you're a fan of his, check out ruin your day videos with him, great battle rap content.
Became familiar with Uno watching the WRCs on JumpOff. Honestly, never really cared for him as an Emcee but after watching this interview, I got a lot of respect for him. I can relate on many levels. Keep doing your thing and keep pushing the battle rap culture.
I hope lush continues to stay on the right path and stay sober and stay busy he has been doing his thing lately with the podcasting at no jumper
Lush put in a lot of work in the streets of LA. He’s a real Westside legend. Not just in music either. He’s known and so is his hood 5150. They were wild. He’s not your average wite boy
I remember him back in the grind time days claiming the Bay Area hard. So now he's an LA legend?
Dude Lush is my favoite dude now. Im recovering from addiction as well and the way he explained everything was so real and true to my story as well glad to see him in this better place.
Never met the man but from watching his involvement in battle rap over the years, he always came off as a real genuine dude. Real dope to see you turn your life around. Keep doin great things fam!!
Really? Because he always came off like he tried too hard since I started seeing him host battle raps back in the day. Makes even more sense after watching this because he said he always tried to fit in to impress his girlfriends, etc.
Inspirational stuff, been a fan of Lush for years, never knew his story until now. Thank you for the honesty
