The annoying thing about street furniture is that it seems to have a bigger effect if its loose debris rather than when a car hits and breaks it from its rooted position. I'm sure they made it to where lightposts, pots and signs had very minimal effect on a cars momentum loss so it wasnt so punishing for casuals. But I think the physics calculations for when the object has been crashed but is still laying there is relatively normally weighted, So its actually more of an effect. I think its something that should be looked at.
Fully agreed. Sometimes a sideways laying lamppost will throw the car completely sideways whilst a rooted lamppost will slow down the car by a few mph.
Friction. When the pole, or other object is standing, first car just tosses it. Minimal time of contact. The following cars are more likely to be pushing it more than hitting it.
@@DDS029 Agreed, but my point is that the effects of the breaking a lamppost out the ground has been minimized to the point its such a negligible penalty. Vs the normal effects of friction of the object laying loose in the road.
I really think that during races, loose debris should have zero effect on your car. It's a really non-competitive "feature" of the game that a mistake from the car in front of you ends up penalizing *you* instead so often. If you get slowed down because you hit a piece of stationary furniture, at least you can say it's because you went off-line, but hitting debris thrown up from people ahead can be completely random.
Im Phroug in all this, you can see the exact moment in race 4 at 29:55 where my attorney called me mid race, the call was supposed to be in ~2 hours from then, but he called me to ask if it could be pushed back another hour as a few things came up his side that he needed to take care of
Spec Racing is some of the most fun in Forza, I really wish we'd see it as ingame mode that cycles every week or so but unfortunately the Devs don't seem to have plans for that. Atleast we occasionally get the Stock Car trials which scratch that itch and are some of my favourites.
Congratulations to all racers. There was some really good racing, and the curse of missed opportunities this week. As before, I have the scores, and you'll forgive me running through the abbreviated rules so that you have to expand the comment to see the results, because I don't want to give any spoilers. All racers score points, from 25 in 1st place to 1 point in 12th. (The full progression is 25, 20, 16, 14, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1) An additional point is scored for fastest lap, and 0 points are scored for a disconnection, before or during a race, regardless of situation. Alex did win this week; never coming in below 2nd place will usually do that, and he added a fastest lap to four seconds and a win for a total score of 106. P1eased0nteatme came in 2nd with 100 points even and a pair of fastest laps to boost it to 102. ChitmanXIII edged out Archer Josh for 3rd place, 75 points to 71, aided by his two fastest laps. 5th place belonged to FredsterToddy with 64 points ahead of Vante1097 with 58 in 6th. 7th place belonged to Mk1 Polo with 50 points. Neotropolis held 8th place with 28 points. ESS DODGERAM scored 23, good for 9th place. 10th place was InfernoFirefoxx with 14 points. AriFox4 came in 11th with 11 points, and Phrough5131 came in 12th with 7 points and a disconnection in race 2. Points of interest this race. As Alex noted, the winner of the first 4 races were all different racers. Race 4 and 5 were the only races where the overall winner of the race also recorded fastest laps. Missed checkpoints had significant consequences on the overall standings this week. It was damp, and a tendency to overdrive can sometimes lead to missing that flag. Congratulations again to everyone who raced! See you all next week!
that disconnection for race 2 was all Forzas fault, then in race 4 at 29:55 my attorney called me 2 hours earlier than expected which is why i dropped from 9th to last and then DNFing... i am Phroug
@@calebb5106 Yeah. I'm not blaming anyone for the disconnections. I know how glitchy and terrible the FH servers are. I just can't give any points because I don't know what would have happened. Maybe if I saw where you were when you disconnected on Alex's screen and you were going to cross the finish line at a given place, I'd waive it, but given limited perspective for the race I can literally only "calls 'em as I sees 'em." Can't be sure the people behind wouldn't have overtaken you. Can't be sure you wouldn't have overtaken the people in front.
The hilarious thing is that i made a S1 drift version of this car. So if i was in this race i would have 100% just detuned it to A class that and used a full drifting spec car in this event.

I was in group 2 during this and this damn car just won’t stop sliding. No matter if it had slicks, semi-slicks, rally tires… it just wouldn’t stop sliding. I hate this Miata in particular rn.

The more smoke and object tossing, the slower EVERYONE goes. Especially the ones who can't see the trash, through the smoke. It's akin to cheating.

This session was very fun to be a part of
It was until I almost choked on rice.

2nd race even better. Got to pause for food shopping. Hungry man and cat.
Like the Gran Turismo S2000 Livery on the MX5
I'm not sure if 625hp was enough :/
no quad rotor. disappointed
Definitely go for a lot more next time!

"Too much"
"Really"
"Quite"
"Little bit"
"Sort of"
