People who say he fell in love with the version of her he wrote about in his book clearly didn’t watch the show. The way he wrote about her showed that from the beginning he was able to see she wasn’t as bad as he initially thought. It wasn’t a different version of her, he showed her good qualities that many overlook. They then formed a friendship and he got to see just how intelligent she was aside from academics. She was vulnerable with him and he slowly realized they weren’t so different. Dan loved her in a way he never loved Serena in my opinion.
And I feel even before they dated, he was the one person she could show her real self to aside from Dorotea. He also helped her in the toughest period of her life. I really want to pretend he caused that accident as Gossip Girl. I get all these characters are problematic, but out of all the pairings, they were the healthiest, in my opinion. Also, people who say they had no chemistry did not watch the show either. They had it in spades.
I disagree with the Serena part I think Serena deserve eachother but what I do agree with is that their friendship was amazing they could help and be venerable with eachother which I think was better for both of them
After rewatching gossip girl I’m still mad the writers ruined their relationship. The episode in season 4 when they plot to bring down Juliet you see a beautiful friendship start to bloom. They call each other out on their crap and still support the other.
The border, WOW! Such a powerful way to make the whole thing feel like "looking back" on the memories... like they are a video tape or something. I loved every second of this, so deliberate and careful with every single lyric match, of course, and so impressive how well they could fit, how much you found to fit this song!! I like how you used the headings like the short film and found some other Leighton Meester thing with the snow for the ending and being at his door... what an ending!! This was powerful and great.
I don’t know what I would do if you ever stopped making Dair videos. Probably just keep sadly refreshing your TH-cam page, lmao. Anyway, this was beautiful and so well done and it made me sad but in a good way. Thanks for all that you do 😘
