- This freezer will allow me more opportunities to store fish, wild game, and ethically sourced meat... and probably some ice cream too. After two and a half months of research, decision making, and shipping troubles, it's finally here!

We are Linnea and Akela. Through the van build, I used my stubbornness and drive to show individuals that they, too, can convert a campervan by themselves and on a budget, with a lot of learning, rolling up the sleeves, and getting to work.
Our goal is to inspire individuals to chase their dreams... to break from societal limitations and live the life they truly desire.

That was hilarious watching you get excited by your socket set 😂. I'm a 56 year old woman who always had a man around to take care of the blue jobs, but since I began solo vanlife in my 26 year old van a year ago I have become completely enamored with tools! 😂😂. I now have 2 full tool boxes and just bought myself a jigsaw which I am having a blast with! Congratulations on both the socket set and the freezer 🥰🚙🇨🇦
i so wanna do this... i'm 40, always been single... my life has never been very successful and i'm on methadone. i don't know how i would ever get my hands on a van, i have no idea how to do any of the building stuff and i have just saved my first $1000 - ever. i just think this would be really good for me. i live a pretty solitary life as it is.
@@gigglesfollowedobviously I don't know your situation, but lots of people buy an older, inexpensive mini-van and use thrift store furniture to make it into a campervan. My BIL could have used Akela this summer - he drove over a shed with his tractor on the farm, resulting in the need for two new tires - thousands of dollars!

Enjoyed the vid, great work getting the cabinet just the right size. A quick tip for the freezer, they work best and most efficiently, (economically) when full, so while you are collecting fish and game to fill it fill any space with some plastic bottles of water which you can take out and dispose of as you need the space , :-)

Everyone thought I was crazy for having a 110 regular dorm fridge plus a 12v cooler fridge. I’m meal prepping in my house now to fill my extra freezer.
I have a driveway in Gainesville, fl if you need it. Or a very secluded place just outside city.
My dream for when im older is to live in a van and travel the world, You really have inspired me to keep going with this dream ❤

I love the look on your face when you’ve underestimated yourself or your skills and it all works out…perfectly! SURPRISE you’re awesome! I can’t stop laughing at Akela and her ball. Her peanut gallery comments are hilarious too. I learned a long time ago that ‘tracking’ isn’t alway accurate. I still have a package that says it’s sitting in Erlanger fricking Kentucky and I’ve actually had it since last year. Happy freezing (yaaaaaaay smoothies!). Every mechanic will tell you to put all 10mm in a locked safe. Lol. It's a very common size and most people are missing the 10mm from their set. Treat it like Gold! lol

If those things are anything like residential/dorm fridge/freezers, the doors are reversible. you might be able to take off the door and reattach so that it opens towards your sink for easier access when preparing food. Just a thought. Love the content!

I recently had an E-08 Error Code on my diesel heater after adding a fuel filter. I learned that it is a fuel line obstruction as my fuel line had a kink in it. I originally though it was air in the line as that is what most videos on TH-cam show.
I also discovered that it is not good to let the diesel heater run out of gas. A fuel gauge is something I would recommend adding.
When the heater runs out of gas it shuts down without the cool down mode that kicks in when you turn it off.
If this happens too many times your glow plug will burn out and need to be replaced.
I have so much to comment lol First and foremost I'm way more invested in the coffee montage now that I'm trying to work my aeropress. 😂 Also the whole time you're trying to put the fridge in my brain was screaming in my father's voice "lift with your knees!" 😂 and Akela gave exactly zero fucks about your distress, struggle, or victory joy 🤣 she didn't do much as lift her head. What is shed hunting? Last but not least, all shipping of ANYTHING these days is absolute crap. Ok I think that's all, no wait! I'm super grateful you went and stayed at skooliepalooza because meeting you was a big highlight for me! 🙌🏻💜

So happy you finally have the freezer! Can’t wait for your fishing adventure videos. I always love how Akela knows how to get your attention with that ball. Also, and please don’t take this the wrong way, Akela’s ball looks close to the size of a tennis ball which could be a choking hazard. I know about dogs that have died because the ball ended up too far back in their throat and the owners couldn’t dislodge them in time. I didn’t know if you had heard about that.

Another successful project complete, even with Akela trying to distract you. Can the freezer door swing either way? I myself would have preferred that it was a right hand swing, but just my opinion. Be safe and enjoy what life has to offer.

You can usually change the Door to open either way on those Freezers..
You keep doing an Amazing job! Van Keeps getting better! I Love how u keep it Real? Show the problems u encounter but u do such a great job problem solving them! Now you can keep some meaty treats for Akela , I mean dry food pellets are convenient and store well but real meaty bone is a real treat for dogs . 👍🤓

Your doing well. you remind me of myself....no room....crawling around and wishing for another person(not really). i have managed for quite a while without help. actually I am taking a break, I am moving my fridge. It has made me disorientated just because of a little change. weird. Your awesome, you are teaching me stuff.

Good job - I ended up installing the truck fridge tf65 in my trailer and absolutely LOVE IT!! Along with the propex, the fridge was one of the best upgrades to my set up.
