The picturesque water gap of the Sluch river, which is considered to be the gate of the Volhynian Polesie, has earned the name of Nadsluchchya Switzerland in the interwar period. To the north there stretch vast areas of forests and swamps, and to the south, gentle hills and ravines of the Volhynian Upland. Mrs. Janina Dąbrowska from the village of Siwki is 90 years old and she speaks beautiful Polish to this day. She remembers the times when soldiers of the Border Protection Corps were stationed in the nearby Lewacze.
A photographic journey along the borders of the Second Polish Republic. A story of people living in the forgotten borderlands, who formed the multinational mosaic of the II RP. Adventurers, smugglers, writers, artists, explorers and dreamers. But most of all, it’s about ordinary people who, despite the atrocities of the 20th century, were trying to survive on the erased border.

Ja jestem zdania, że najlepsza opcja dla nas, ukrainy, białorusi, litwy jest życie w zgodzie i sojuszu gdzie wszyscy wzajemnie się szanują, bo jednak gdy żyliśmy razem w Rzeczpospolitej Obojga Narodów byliśmy w stanie każdemu utrzeć nosa a gdy zaczęliśmy bić się między sobą to skorzystały na tym państwa sąsiadujące...
