- If you are like us, family with a child, then this is definitely the one day trip to take from Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
At first, our plan was to go to Sandokan, also a city in Sabah and do the 3D2N Kinabatangan river cruise, but, after facing the reality that we are traveling with a 4 year old, we opted it out and left it for near future.
Being left with the desire to still experience the Borneo Jungle and see some wildlife, we found a one day trip to another salt river, just 2 hours from Kota Kinabalu that is home to many animals, the river Klias.
The tour is well organised, serving delicious Malaysian food, guided by knowledgable locals with perfect English.
On this tour you can see, Proboscis monkey, Rhinoceros hornbill, small crocodiles, king fisher and more.
There are two cruises in the tour included, the second one is after diner and you cruise in the dark, hunting for a glimpse of the crocodile's red eyes and the fireflies, little bugs that are feeding from the trees and giving the impression of a real Christmas tree.
The price for the tour was 520MYR for all of us.
Mark enjoyed it and we felt safe, comfortable and there was no hustle at all.
