The President of Zambia does not need to meet with Steve Harvey . I am a Son of Africa, born in the US. Who in Hell is Steve Harvey to meet with Mr. President? If this is about trade and tourism, meet with business people. These are Hollywood celebrities , they are not political or business leaders. Zambia's history, beauty, cultures, landscape and noble people ,does not need validation from anyone, especially "Hollywood".
Before I continue the video, let me say this if Zambia wants to bring its country to the forefront, Zambia needs to look at European countries and follow their model. European countries do not use Christina Aguilera Taylor Swift, or anybody else to promote their country. The European countries simply do businessinternational exchange international trade using a celebrity such as Steve Harvey or anybody else is a dumb ass idea.

David Steward and Robert Smith would have been excellent candidates, in my opinion, because they are extremely successful black American businessmen. If they’re seeking out black American businessmen, (which is interchangeable with “FBA”), why not choose from a vetted pool of polished and highly qualified professionals, starting with these two men or any other men and women who have a track record of success in business?

Dont take these people to your president. It should be rank for rank. In the best case scenario, Steve should have met the minister for tourism.. I blame the presidents protocol team.. 😢 Can you imagine Steve a school dropout, comedian motivating your president..lol😅😅.. Sorry guys..
I find it puzzling why some Africans are so deeply offended by this Steve's actions. The responsibility ultimately lies with ourselves for enabling such behaviour. Specifically, I hold government officials and the President’s office accountable for failing to establish proper protocols before granting him an audience with the President. This pervasive attitude of deference towards individuals from developed nations, especially among Africans, is the reason why we are so often taken advantage of. By placing these individuals on a pedestal and perceiving them as inherently superior, we open the door to disrespect and exploitation. When that disrespect is evident, we then cry foul. In this particular instance, based on standard protocol, someone like Steve should have met with a Minister of Arts and Culture or a Business Minister, not the President. That would have been the appropriate approach. However, Steve’s behaviour, while clownish, is not the core issue here. The problem is that he took advantage of an opportunity presented to him, and we allowed it. I recall when Shaquille O’Neal came to London and walked freely without security. People greeted him casually, and there was no exaggerated display of adoration. If the same situation occurred in Africa, he might have been paraded across the continent with red carpets rolled out at every stop. This overzealous attitude towards so-called famous individuals must change. Until we shift our perspective and hold others to reasonable standards, we will continue to face such situations. The solution is simple, treat these individuals with respect, but without undue reverence or excessive fanfare.
President Ruto met Steve Harvey in the U.S. when he toured Tyler Perry Studios earlier this year and we heard that Steve Harvey would visit to Kenya in September but that never happened. He went to Rwanda and now Zambia. Guess the Kenyan government saw him for what he is before getting involved with him. In comparison, Naomi Campbell was appointed as an international tourism ambassador for Kenya in 2021 after interacting with the country for so long and promoting it. She has a luxury villa in Malindi, Kenya. But she never had to meet the minister or even the president to discuss anything. Other celebrities like Richard Branson have investments in Kenya and they do the promotions, sneak in and out of the country without even anyone noticing. We only see posts on their social media pages. Now this pompous guy wants to be treated like the dear leader of North Korea when he's only going to work as a tourism ambassador.
The real place AA celebrities can bring tourism is west africa, mostly due to their DNA and slavery past.. Harvey should work with Ghana.. Zambia is quite hollow.
Why the heck do some African governments give undue amount of respect to these useless celebrities.
They can't even govern themselves. They enjoy letting people come from Europe and Asia to control their country.

There are indeed countries that still have challenges but I'm happy to say that there are also several that already enjoy a good standard.
Zambia is one of them and that's why Harvey is investing there.
Y’all need to get me to promote Zambia I’ve been before. I’ve had a significant impact on encouraging people to go to Kenya. Zambia was dope! I definitely would return
Black Americans are not feeling Steve Harvey like that. Nobody's going to Zambia just because horsemouth Steve promoted it.
You ain't tell me no lie. Unbelievable that they would not do their research on this clown Steve Harvey.

I agree. Mr. Harvey should have been more respectful of the continent and the President.
If Steve Harvey ain't respectful to his fellow Black American people he for damn sure ain't gonna be respectful to his fellow Black African people.🤨
You mean country....
@takula7 i mean the whole continent.
Zambian it's time we grew up, seriously let's grow up
When I visit countries in Africa, I will properly address each Presidents as "Your Excellency" (African Men and Women) I will always start with respect.
Yes I totally agree and so will I rest assured
Exactly
that's the protocol and it is respect
Call them out for who they are. No arrogance specially if you are getting paid. Thank you very much for all that you do.
Do not be impressed by these " famous" people , when you have such a great, beautiful, wonder country such as Zambia.
Zambia's history, beauty, cultures, landscape and noble people ,does not need validation from anyone, especially "Hollywood".
word!
@@johnelamin65 True brother!
No, Zambia should copy China, which was able to turn from a backwater into a global superpower in less than 50 years
The picked a minstrel instead of seeking out true FBA businessmen. Typical.

Can you name some true FBA businessmen they should have picked?

Anyway, the Zambian government could have gone to any Black Chamber of Commerce and found someone better than Steve Harvey. But I think the focus was also on choosing someone who is very successful and “high profile” which is hard to find in black America unattached to anything involving entertainment or Hollywood.
David Stewart
Robert Allen
Cathy Hughes
Richelieu Dennis
Ursula Burns
Magic Johnson
David R. Jones

And they got a clown show instead...

@@salj.5459 Exactly and if and when I become that wealthy I will be one of them. Living in peace away from people.
Lol, that was a rude awakening... Africa needs to start promoting african celebrities that understand our culture of respect.
Wow, how arrogant and rude. Smh
Well stated 👏🏿
He needs to come back to us and explain about P Diddy baby oil. I think they're are looking for him.
😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Why did he do that. He needs to be patient it's a process. Steve Harvey respect is the KEY.

@@LeeHunt-mu9nb 🤝
@@orisenabritt West Africa's tourism scene is a child's play compared to East Africa. There is no playground for AA celebrities in West Africa.
