Having lived in Kyiv for about 18 years, I find it hard to express the incredible mixture of feelings your story has just brought up in me! Thank you for all the sensitiveness and attention you demonstrate here. It feels as if I had met you that winter in Kyiv, we might have had an interesting conversation. I look back on Kyiv with incredibly fond memories, like I was able to experience yesterday. Spending a month there I left a different person I truly believe. There’s a poeticism in the streets that is so subtle, the first blanket of snow can cover it.
Gah it´s so hard for me to understand some of the shots bc the scenes looks so familiar , something I would never have thought taking pic of. your expl is amazing! also lol there is entire movement of post-Soviet core in Eastern European arts and photo so its ok, it is depressing despite being advanced and modern
