    Got my son a 2001 Honda Accord EX coupe with 170k miles. These are great vehicles! As long as it's well maintained they will last forever!

    I have a 99 Honda Accord EX L V-6 with 206,000 miles on it. I keep it up and it’s in great shape. I feel good for seeing a comment for someone with 400k miles on theirs. I was just hoping to make it to 200k lol.

    Completely agree with your statement at the end of the video. Owner of a 2000 EX sedan 5 speed. It's more than a car to me, I don't know how to explain the bond but you know what it's like with Whitney. Despite being 22 years old I still dump money into my accord, 195k and running strong 💪

      So glad to hear that! Because of where I was financially, I had to end up getting rid of mine, unfortunately. After spending over $4000 in maintenance/repairs back in April, it still ended up with major issues that would’ve cost me too much. I wish I could’ve kept it, but I definitely have plans to buy another one at some point-an EX or EX-L 5 Speed to be exact.

      6th gen accords really are something special! 4k in repairs, wow! I bought mine for that much. Wish you luck in finding a new (new, lol) one. Those 5 speeds really are bulletproof. It's too bad Whitney wasn't a 5 speed, I'm sure she would've been even more indestructible.

      @@whitneythe6thgenaccord680 What's really amazing about these cars is that they are just now being retired in salvage yards. I can drive down to St Louis and go to one of the U-Pick salvage yards and come across 6 to 20 of these that have just been retired, any day of the week. You can virtually find better cars in the junkyard then the one you're repairing, because people don't know what they have!!

    I have two 6th gen Accord coupe's, one v6 and the other a F23a1 with the 5 speed. The V6 coupe has 320k and the 4 cylinder has 230k. They're incredibly reliable! Crapper automatic transmission made it 297k before it died, and that car has been rear ended 3 times without major damage to the frame - just quarter panel damage and cracked my bumper - bumper is STILL holding on with just one extra zip tie having been rear ended 3 times!!! Its such a reliable platform. Just can't beat them.

    Man from 22:00 to mid 23 minutes of your video is exactly where I'm at with my thought process and it's where my appreciation peaked. I own a 1998 Corolla 7 years now and I've been contemplating whether to move on or stick it out a bit longer. I found your channel as I have been researching this model Honda Accord. Your articulation of your ownership experience is rivalled by few as I've watched other videos you put out about the car. I will at least go out and test drive one to know what it's like. I'm from Trinidad btw. Most of the 6th gen Accords here are the 2.0 four cylinder. I've been looking at one on a used car website recently.

    • @whitneythe6thgenaccord680
      @whitneythe6thgenaccord680  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you, I appreciate that! This car has been my pride and joy since I bought it in 2018. I completely understand your thought process of figuring out if you should hold on to your Corolla. A few weeks after this video, I ended up getting a “new” car-a 2014 Honda Accord. I still have the 1998 for the sentimental value, but it started having serious issues a few days after this video was filmed and I couldn’t justify dumping more money into it. It still starts and drives fine, but the problems are still there. If you’re considering one, I’d still recommend it, as they’re good cars. Some maintenance just might be necessary. Best of luck to you! Thanks for watching and commenting!

    Hi there, I have a same car like this and I just want to share some of my opinions about this car. I don't know about your car but my car is pretty quick even compare to the new accord 1.5t, when it get into high revs it just pull hard for what it is. From my perspective, I think the transmission is not terrible as long as it has new fluid every 15k (I do the same thing for my TLX Type S too) and it hold up nicely for quite sometimes. In my opinion, this car is fun to drive when compared to others in it class because it's Honda like steering has good feedback, I always feel connected to the road more than any other modern car that I drove (ofc it coudnt compare to type r but who care 😂) . The downside of this car is when you corner them hard, the seats are not supportive at all and the suppension is more of a soft side even tho it still stiffer than a Camry so it feels not so good because of these. But I do have to mention that the car will respond well to modifications if you want(the accord euro is the exact same platform just different styling just let you know). The double wishbone suppension of the 90's Honda are famous for being competitive and this one is no exeption, it just need some works to make it there (Change the rear beefier sway bar, give it some good coilovers, bigger rims for better performance tires and brakes) and it will eat the corners nicely. I have a different opinion than you because I always like to make cars have the best version of it was from factory especially Honda and Acura because it capable. It seems like you prefer to keep everything as is but if you do have this 6th gen again I do recommended these mods above and I'm pretty sure you will like the way it perfom. Thank you for your content tho, respect👍❤.

      Thank you for the feedback! I no longer have this car, unfortunately. I still believe that it is one of the absolute best Honda has ever built, though. The driving experience for what it was was undoubtedly enjoyable, and it was a wonderful all-around car. I could see myself getting another one.

    I own a silver V4 2.3L Accord coupe 2002 with 250k for 12 years so far and it runs great with original trans and engine. however, the paint is falling apart and is making it difficult to drive around as daily driver. any advice?

    • @whitneythe6thgenaccord680
      @whitneythe6thgenaccord680  ปีที่แล้ว

      If the trans and engine are in good shape-I’d say hold on to it and maybe get the paint fixed up if you feel it’s worth it. To have 250k and be problem free mechanically is great, so I’d say it’s worth keeping. Mine, on the other hand, became a money pit.

      @@SilkCityOG Awesome! Happy to know you’ve held onto it for that long. I think upgrading to the 16’s is a great idea. A little bigger, more stylish, and doesn’t affect ride quality or fuel economy. They’re definitely good cars, especially if you can find one that’s been well taken care of, but they’re also nearly 25 years old, so there’s always gonna be a risk. If I was to buy another one, it would be a 4-cylinder.
