A couple more reasons
1. It's lightweight which means you'll get better performance
2. Linux is way more secure than windows/macOS
3. (my personal favorite reason) Linux has incite customizability so you can make it look and function however you want
4. Since there are so many distro's there is probaly atleast one distro out their that perfectly fits your needs
5. You aren't forced updates, you can update whenever you want and you don't even have to reboot when you update
6. Linux doesn't try to force you to use [insert Microsoft product here]
7. Linux uses package managers instead of downloading an installer on the web which is easier and allows you forbstuff like automatic updates
And the big one: the powerful command line console. If you're a linux power user you know what I mean.
I think i might switch to linux if windows stop windows 10 support like they are making pop ups that take up the whole screen and theres no way to tab out
@@pumpkinjack7265they kill windows 10 in 2025 unless you use Windows ltsc (An official version of Windows without much bloat, except It's expensive because you have to pay for every new version that comes out every few years and It's a bulk purchase for businesses. It will last until 2032)

Another reason is customization. You are not stuck with the same old desktop. Linux has many desktop options. And if you're a power user you can use a titling window manager and configure it to your desires.

Kali Linux is not just for normal use. Pls explain to the people what is use for. Kali is more for security.

Not only "certain" distributions are open source, but almost all of them. What's more, I can't even think of any distro who isn't.
Don't use Kali Linux as your daily system, it is not ment to be used that way.

Because it comes with tools/software that is used to 'hack' or 'scan' networks, witch can become illegal or cause damage to your own network or somebody elses network

chrome os is enough linux for me.
Mint cinnamon would be far more powerful and allow you to get back to privately storing stuff locally

People allow their own fears and frustrations to overwhelm their simple cognitive ability to just try something and begin getting things done. I'd rather have too many choices than no choices at all because at least with too many choices I can eventually find what makes sense for me. This is why Linux will always beat the crap out of Windows even if Lennox had no other advantages over windows

For me tge 2 biggest reasons are being lightweight (not all are but lubuntu for exemple) and more stable. Theres no way to keep a 2009 pc running using windows

Windows 11
Linux is also a lot more easygoing than Windows in terms of updates and its App Store. Don’t want to update right now? That’s ok! Linux lets you update whenever you want to. It never forces an update install on you.
Also, can we all agree that Linux had better app stores than the Microsoft Store on Windows? They are easy to navigate, and it has system app packages along with flatpaks too! There is far more to discover on there.
Here are one reason to not switch to Linux:
Lack of support by apps such as all Adobe apps Microsoft and games.
Linux is best. You can run it in a literal potatoa and it hast was cooler Apps then Windows.

it lives on donations, and opensource means that people contribute to it for free, i donate money and contribute myself, plus big companies also give money to organizations that maintain linux distributions, due to the fact that most servers in the world runs they get a ton of money for development.
Linux is owned by a nonprofit (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux_Foundation) and most of its software is owned by non-profits as well (sources: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KDE en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GNOME_Foundation)
For exemple Ubuntu is from canonical. They income comes from service for companies, like security, since linux is the most used system by far on servers. Even windows swrvers run in linux

2 reason not to use linux
1. Its unstable my ubuntu didnt last for one day . I installed today and next day it gave booting error
2.very bad battery life
1. You probably created bad disk partition or incorrect file system.
2. Controversial. My old Mac on Ubuntu lasts same as it’s been running Big Sur. But generally, yeah.
3. I have had dozens of Ubuntu and Debian servers for years and never faced crash or boot error. Debian for example is probably the most stable OS you can even imagine

Linux is not great in desktop, but great on handeld device like anbernic

i hate how nvidia didnt really support linux at all before and in my pc it gives black screen (no intel graphics)
NVIDIA has x64 linux drivers on their website though.

As long as any p c that you boot up into windows and is connected online for any reasonable amount of time..... Microsoft maintains a kernel level data connection to that computer
They don't give you a specific day to connection that you have your own editing access to.

Depends on your current operating system, i only use Windows so i only know how to do on Windows PC, but Not on Mac. So First of all choose how you want to Change. Therer are several ways. First is deleting your current OS and installing Linux instead, which isnt recomended. So i will Just give you another was on how to do It.
!! i recomend you downloading a VM Software Like virtual Box and Run the Linux you want to Run there to See If you even want linux(vms have some limitations). There are a Lot of Guides Out there to do that, and also how to Install linux instead of vm!!
First of all you will need a already working Computer. Then you will need a USB flash Drive, with (depending on the Linux distro you choose) ID say around at least 16 GB. Then you can either decide If you want to Split the current Drive in your PC or use a external one. I will Tell you how to do It with an external one, so youll also need one of those(should have a decent amount of storage, If you want to use it ad your Main OS). So what you want to do, is Download the Linux distro, from the Website of the distro you want(e.g. Kali Linux: kali.org) and Just Download the Main Version. It will Download a file(prob .iso) then you want to Download a Tool called Rufus(you can also use other Tools but thats the in i think is the best.) Then you want to Open Rufus, select the USB Drive, and then select the File you downloaden. Then you want to click on Start. !!be aware that it will dekete all the Data on the USB Stick!!. Then after its done, Power Off your PC and restart it again. It should automaticly recognise the USB Drive and Boot from there. If it doesnt, Go into the BIOS and select it aß the Boot Drive. Then it will Guide you through the Installation. !!When you Install it make Sure you choose the right Drive. Choose the other internal or external one i talked about earlyier, or choose your Main internal one(recommend )to deleted all Files on it and Install linux there(Not recomended)!! Then it will have installed the Linux distro there. then restart your PC If it doesnt automaticly and Boot from the Drive which you installed Linux, on and there you have Linux. If you installed it on another Drive, you can choose that one to Run Linux, or choose your old Drive to Run Windows (If you didnt deleted IT).
