Jade...a goddess in flip flops. I laughed so much at that one. lol! Lots of negativity for sure but yes, just the JaThea moments make up for it. I will watch whatever episodes and scenes you both want to share with us. Though yes, the domestic violence ones are really hard to bear to look at so totally understandable if you want to skip showing/watching them again. Oh, and glad your kitty made an appearance. Guess we'll just continue to skip the violent parts but again we'll watch all episodes even if it's just few seconds of JaThea as it wipes out all the negative scenes. 😅
Callie says hi too 😻😸 The only Callie related recording that we edit out is when we're screaming at her to stop whatever crazy thing that she's doing that could harm her. 😅 But if she makes an appearance on the camera we do keep it. 😂

"Mission failed" indeed. 🤪 This was the episode that I first really believed that Jade and Althea were in love; when they declared their love for each other in previous episodes, it felt a little staged to me. We also get the first moments of the Tanchingco brothers as humans where they previously felt more like plot devices to me. But I'm still with Joi on that clan - horrible family.
Are those families in the Philippines really about reputation above all else? I must say this looks really foreign (and old-fashioned) to me as a German who grew up in the 1980s.
The highlight of the episode is of course the heartbreaking break-up scene in front of Althea's apartment, where Jade is unable to go through with it. At the end, I was wondering whether Paul would really out her sister to their family; I guess I didn't know their characters that well just yet.
Yes, I will continue to watch with you, even through the hard episodes (of which I know some are upon us).

The Filipino-Chinese community really values honor and it's really how it is portrayed in TRMD. Well anyone is free to correct us on that but what we usually liken this to is the movie Mulan where family honor is something to be protected and can't be tarnished no matter what. It becomes a double whammy for a Filipino-Chinese as the Filipino part usually means that 90% of them is of Christian faith as well. It seems far-fetched but it's a reality to some as we know of stories of friends who are Filipino-Chinese.

I am still interested in watching it with you. It really is a lot of drama but it's still a really good love story between two people.
