I created all the 4 notes chords on each of them on a sheet of paper as soon after he show me all the scales, ....by the way the chords are formed by stacking 3rds over 3rds ,the every 2nd note as you say is not the way to explain it, but it can just be an observation after the correct delivery of the information . Join that to the "how to build any scale" rules and you have the secret of western music that not teacher or schools ever openly reveals, and that is why many musicians live under the spell all their musical life.(and TH-cam is not really helping!)

Great introduction to Harmonic minor! This makes me really exited to compose. I really dig the idea of keeping the chord progression ”hidden”, as in you dont know whether it is natural or harmonic minor. Offers alot of freedom in terms of improvising

...Last week (after 12 years of dabbling) I learned what the harmonic minor was (a regular minor scale with a raised major 7th) now I'm reasonably confident I can write an entire song in harmonic minor/natural minor and then solo over it...
