“Arise...the rain is over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth, the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land.” - Song of Solomon
It’s 11:30 at night. Heard a bird chirping. Literally right next to me in my bedroom. Looked up what it means biblically. Found this verse. ^ then I looked up turtle dove to see if it’s the bird I heard. Mind you there’s not a bird around me but I randomly heard it clear as day. And turns out the sound. The verse. And the bird all match up. God is good.
Where are you based? In England they are very very rare…so many get shot by hunters in Malta when they are flying over for Spring. Such a shame and what a beautiful bird.
@@1azrealdeal yep incredibly rare- just saw my first few in over 5 years. The reserve is amazing. Has loads of nightingales, cuckoo’s and we counted around 4-5 male turtle doves. Sadly you have to go to very specific locations to even have a chance at spotting them in the UK.
I see some people confusing dove and turtledove in the comments section.Turtledoves are not doves, they are a little smaller and more afraid of humans than doves and pigeons.
Turtle doves are doves… doves and pigeons are in the same family. The turtle dove is a type of dove- characterised as a smaller, slimmer bird with more performative flight compared to the larger pigeons which have a more uniform flight.
The turtle dove is also found in gilgit baltistan of pakistan for 6months in spring season &migrats in the end of septembr every year to unknown destination of the world.

Such a peaceful creature the dove.
Actually, no. They'll tear each other to pieces if you get two males together.
These doves are so gorgeous
I often see dove in my dreams. I love dove💞
Thank you for sharing my love.
How gorgeous. I’m mesmerized. Thank you for uploading this! ❤
Superb turtle dove/bird song video.. even a cuckoo getting in on the act! Excellent work.. thanks for posting it..
And a Hawfinch!
@@georgeewart52 sadly it seems that one day the turtle dove might be a rarer sight then the Hawfinch in the UK…
I love the casual Hawfinch photobomb.
I’m assuming this is as taken in Central Europe as they have videos of bee-eaters so I’m assuming they are probably not as rare over there.
Old Testament birds.
They look nice.
I love that sound 😘😍
Veri nice your vidios ,... 👍
Very lovely once again. It's a shame so many get shot in Europe.
Save dove save love.
It's barbaric. I'll never understand how some people can just casually destroy nature like that.
It's because they taste good.
@@theneedle6785 that’s definitely not why… it’s because some people in the med have a screw loose.
Saw one today purring in a tree. Such a gorgeous sight!
Che colori !!!! Bravissimo👏👏👏
I'm seeing these beautiful doves everywhere am I the only that is noticing this?
I even see them in my dreams.

These are way better birds than annoying territorial sparrows...
Great video-making work! Tnks!
At 2:58 , You can see it's chest pump when it hums (Chirps or sings as some other people prefer)
Angels from heaven thats why we should not shoot them or eat them
Yes they are birds of paradise. They denote love. Save dove save love.
