You could always get your kindle to read books to you. It’s not ideal because it’s a computer generated voice but it allows me to keep reading a book. I know the kindle fire will read to you.
I recently hauled Miracle Creek at a used book store - I’m super intrigued by that one! Ahh I just picked Just for the Summer for my Book of the Month pick - so glad you are enjoying it - I can’t wait for that one.

Not sure if you’ll see this but…. @ 28:46 you start talking about why you read what you read. I can’t express enough how this is EXACTLY how I feel. I read more contemporary fiction, literature, and urban books because I like to connect with the book and feel the emotions. I do feel that it’s my version of escapism because IT’S NOT ME, but it’s heartfelt and enjoyable. I don’t read full on romance books because a HEA in every books isn’t realistic to me so it’s not enjoyable. I do love romance within a story, but it has to be realistic. I’m so tired of the romance girlies asking the hurtful question “ are yall okay?” to everyone that likes to read books that gives you real emotions. I don’t see the point in reading “for the vibes” or just to see them have a HEA no matter what was written before then. Idk, but I found your channel today going down the rabbit hole of booktuber searching. Thank you for sharing that with us because nobody else gets it and I felt seen. New subbie here. ❤
It sounds like you might like urban romance Or dark romance. Serious issues, not always a happy ending. Also, I had to giggle at your assessment of Part of Your World bc I think it was totally believable. Often those that are book smart have no common sense/street smart. You're lucky if you have both lol. One of my all-time favorite quotes is, "sometimes the smartest people have the most to learn". Congrats on completing your TBR. That's quite the feat! Yay for not having to hand-wash dishes. Also, I love that you're enjoying Just for the Summer. I gave it 6 stars 😉
Oh urban or dark romances?! Do you have any recs for those? I get that book smart people usually don't have common sense, but as a doctor, I feel like part of your job is problem solving - which she was terrible at!
The way you said "Do I have to read Fourth Wing" had me laughing..it was good if you enjoy Fantasy. I know its not your book taste, but pretty spicy 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ If you liked The Beautiful and the Wild i just finished Strange Sally Diamond and it sounds like you might enjoy, It had the whole someone being locked up and hiding away story line with some twist. It's right around 300 pages I think so quick read.
