Hrey Nathan, would be great to see this for a sub 3. Where do we need to be at the start of a 21 week block, where do we need to be at 10 weeks to go, where do we need to be 5 weeks out etc. This would help tremendously knowing what indicators would be expected at each of these points, and if we would need to recalibrate our goals. Love your channel. Thanks buddy.
Very inspirational, even for all runners out there that are after it. I've got two questions about my marathon training. I'm at the end of week 8 of your 3:10 marathon training plan. I've got a vacation next week with lots of walking/hiking. I'm thinking about still hitting the runs that are scheduled. What is your take on the load of the hiking besides the training? Two weeks out of my marathon I'm switching my last long run for a 5k race (aiming for a sub 20 min). Should I still put the last long run somewhere else, like three days later?
The long run 3 days later works fine richard...hiking will be fine instead of easy runs scheduled on the easy days but I would aim for the harder track/road sessions for sure. Keep up the great work!
@@rundreamachieve Thanks Nathan. Will follow your advice! I like the training plan so far. Many quality speed workouts for athletes that want to drop the hammer on race day.
Thanks for the video! So you think training a lot at your 10k and 5k paces defiinetely helps for the marathon? It is not about running a lot of miles at your marathon pace?
I live in Sacramento California and next year hope to run my first marathon at CIM at the age of 44 by then. I was reading the rules and they say they discourage headphones but it's not against the rules at the same time. I've only ever run with music. Should I still try to wear them, or learn to run without it. I'll have more questions leading up to next year, but this is the first, thank you in advance!
I trained all the time with music but NEVER in a race, When it came time to race I was locked in and zoned out. No music on race day, of course, prior to start is fine but not IN the race. Hope that helps. Wishing you great success at CIM, that is where I ran my PR back in 2007.

Keep up the great work Richard. I know you can get that sub 2:55.

Both are critical for marathon success Nicolas, not just 5K/10k training paces. Keep up the superior work out there man.
