It took a long time but I think I maxed out my summoner and since it kills so fast that you don't even need Corpse Explosion, I call it the AFK necromancer. Let's see the numbers. I summon level 53 skeletons and mages with 55 mastery with some pre buff gear and then switch to faith with level 15 fanaticism. Pair that up with level 20 concentration from iron golem, level 23 might from mercenary, level 12 conviction from infinity and level 5 heart of the wolverine from wisp projector. This amounts to 800% ED, 160% AR, 33% IAS, -83% Enemy Defense, -85% Enemy Elemental Resistance and -100% Enemy Physical Resistance. After all, I'm left with 17 skeleton warriors, where each one does 6.2k after amp damage and add up to reach the insane amount of 100k dps. Add 17 mages who, although not as impressive, add another 10k dps. The iron golem itself does another 6k dps thanks to the weapon and all the buffs. And then, finally, the merc alone adds another 91k dps without counting 75% CB and 15% DS . Adding it all up, this build easily can reach 200k dps without CE. Ball, Dclones and Ubbers just melt in seconds. Thorns aura from bramble is not really needed as most bosses don't even get many physical hits and they mostly spam spells so kill speed is faster with duress, fortitude, or what I chose, chains of honor that adds a nice +2 skills (better might aura), good resistances (to fight uber mefisto's conviction aura), 200% ED against demons (all bosses) and 8% life leech (for that extra survailability).
So I have many questions and ideas to boost this builds clear speed even faster. Obviously CE will be used but for the research purposes let's forget it for now. How about an act 3 fire merc? While running around he will Enchant the skellys giving them more AR and DPS, also throw a Bramble armor on him for thorns because why not, more damage to monsters. I would use a flickering flame for -fire to help with merc damage and a + 3 to fire skill sword or whatever, just to help a bit more. Now what I'm thinking is the Fire Golem, what if this thing is also used to gain this "holy fire" effect. I know it's not huge damage but instead of amp damage, what if we use lower resists, because the more damage the faster clear speed 🤷♂️. What I would like to know is if Lower Rez curse would do the same as Amp Damage for CE? Corpse Exp has fire damage right? So Lower res should work and it bonuses the fire golem effect.What are your thoughts on this? I do agree, Beast is best in slot for this build.
Ive seen other vids saying that Edge on switch with a Bramble Armor on a Thorn Aura Merc is the best for Summon builds because Thorn scales better into the late game. Idk anymore
Reading the comments and I thought of something. Act 2 Might merc with Pride, Bramble armor, Beast main hand, thats 3 aruas all for damage and ar. Then insight iron golem, its cheap and would work wonders. Hmmmm 🤔
Nice vid. I think if you try want to min / max this build you use an act 2 might merc with infinity. Then you use a pride iron golem. Use arm of king leoric to summon your army then switch to beast. Now if you are playing solo online or on players 1, any of the weapons or variations you highlighted will work. I think the point of every necro build is how quickly can you get that first kill to start using corpse explosion.
Hey thanks! Sup dude. I'm actually making a video soon on which Aura is best for the A2 merc. Believe it or not... it isn't might! Definitely surprised me tbh. Infinity is dopeeee with the merc. It helped my clear speed a lot. Problem is if you switch to beast after summoning your army then a all of the extra ones that can be summoned by the wand will unsummon. You have to be wielding it in order for them to stay :/
@@BTHDreamer that’s right I did forget about the minions dying off when you switch. But the ones that remain should still have the initial stats from the bonus skills on leoric right?

some time ago i found an arm of king leoric(however you spell it), and it was a huge boost in the power of my necro. i only play offline, so i cant really trade....all i can do is find and craft.
I honestly thought it was common knowledge that Beast was the best weapon to use on a Summon necro. After another mentioned min-maxing on summoning then swapping. Beast has been used even in retail D2 for the longestttt & then you need the Summons frommmm... IIRC Act 5 Worldstone the Frenzy ones.
Best weapon for Summon necro thats easy its rancid potions as long as you throw them you prevent non psn immune monsters from regenerating and they regenerate huge amounts of HP in fast time in hell and on higher player count. Rancid potions have a huge area of effect and unlike psn nova cannot be blocked by monsters in front so you psn all monsters in front, back, sides also psn damage is bugged if you use minions so your nova will barley do any damage at all.
I think I'm actually going to make an insight iron golem eventually. But for now using the clay golem until then. Faith a1 merc could be legit. But, right now with thorns and infinity it's absolutely slaying.
@jasensantos209 hi pla fun video tbh did you by chance se macro bio bois video on this topic he might clear up some questions you have. btw best set up for the merc is infinity brambles while beeing a might aura merc, some lifestealhat with some res cham or um rune and the best golem to max out you output on bosse is the fire golem since he takes the aggro and take 6x more dmg and reflects more dmg to the boss. mage skellingtons are very bad and especialy thos freezing ones no beuno.

I really like harmony alot. I know its not "damage" oriented but it helps your minions get on target faster.

Hey that is a good question to ask! Believe it or not, thorns is a better option than might for the merc. Gives a much faster clear speed.
