Looking at completing a similar set up on the gatepost and brackets for rails. Love the set up, did you make that? If so, where’s the best place to get those posts?

A lot of major steel suppliers can source these posts, then we've weld on those brackets separately

Why not double your cable around the post?

      Hi Dusty
You could run the wire twice around the post, but I don't believe there is any additional benefit. We have found that the weak point is at the bend in the knot and this won't change with additional wraps around the post.
We explore the breaking point of different wires and knots in our other video 'Testing the Breaking Force of Polyethylene Droppers'
      Cheers Steve

Hi Steve, can this knot work on a square 150 x 150 post?

      Hey John.
Yes, the termination knot will work quite well on 150 x 150. Just resist the urge to push the knot in too tightly against the post. We have found that the sharper the bend (with high tensile wire) in the through wire the weaker the knot. So, if you can tie the knot out 50mm/2" from the post, the wire will handle more tension. Hard to explain in words. Probably should do a video...
      Cheers Steve

@@WaltersFencing Thanks Steve, I have a bunch of 150 SHS posts I want to use so I'll give it a go. Much appreciated.

It’s called a collar and tie knot.
