The prize money is the same as it was a decade ago so really good businesses will look for venture funding elsewhere. If they made the prize half a million you would get much better candidates going on.

Avi flaking his way through the interviews and coming out of them thinking he did ok would've been amazing
I would have liked to have seen him being interviewed, but I’m actually glad he’s gone. He was so cringey to watch.

Avi was the designated funny man for that year which is why he lasted so long despite being incompetent. He’s the equivalent to Virdi from this year’s season.
I would say more nasty than brutal. The air stewardess punt at the end is nasty and the contestants have been calling you Karen all year and haven’t said anything till now just to be intimidating. Bit odd
I'd say not nasty but honest, as the candidates were like pond life.

Agree, Linda leans more towards bitchy & snooty rather than scary. However I do admire her putting these airheads in thier places!

They were so bad they didn't even make one of those 'The Final Five' programmes where you hear more about the contestants

I think Karen Brady did worse than that. She made Dani and Victoria cry in the interview. Linda Plant didn’t make anyone cry and made Victoria happy at the end of it.
To be fair to Karren, apart from the snooty ‘it’s baroness Brady to you’ comment, she was brutal but everything she said and the facts she presented were totally fair
I get that the business plans weren't great but they went a bit too far.
Dani and Victoria are so cute and it is really sad to see them cry

That is their model. I work in the industry.
You work 15 hours for free to pay your ‘rent’ and then you have access to their client base and facilities to do personal training.
However, there is no guarantee you will ever get clients. Just sums up working in fitness. Not glam

This year's interviews were just plain nasty. Left a bad taste in the mouth. Especially Karren's behaviour. Very poor example to set to the kids, I hope she's ashamed of herself.

Thought they were OTT but it has to be said, the standard of candidate here was outrageously poor. Can you really have sympathy for 'business people' who can't even answer the most basic questions on their proposed business?
Hnn but the short listing methodology is invalid...some of those earlier candidates got weeded out because they didnt cook something in time or whatever .they could have had a superb business plan that was everything these people were looking for but they're gone..I hope this is just tv and not genuine...?!

@@JoelJoel321 The only thing I thought was really bad was when she corrected them on her name/title. As for not having the correct figures or in some case any figures, in their business plan, I think they were rightly torn apart.
I still don’t understand how people were complaints about the interviewers, saying they were harsh. They were harsh because the contestants were shockingly bad. Marni, Dani and Rochelle should’ve all been sacked weeks ago. This show is just about finding fame now.

I agree with you. I can understand if it is once or twice they had an all female semi final or one bloke and four female semi final. But not if it has happened for quite a lot of series’s. I think Lord Sugar wanted to sack the boys and keep the girls as much as possible which is quite a trait for an old man to do.
Every year I wonder: from all the people that want to take part, are these the best candidates? Judging their business plans, why were some invited in the first place. And, pure personally, the final female contestants looked more like contestants for a wardrobe, makeup and botox competition
I agree about the flipping botox, they looked like they'd been stung by bees.
Maybe they see the apprentice as a stepping stone to a career in the media or to promote their personal brands?
If they used real business people it would be boring telly. Ordinary looking people making lots of cash !!

Absolutely brilliant and hilarious in equal measure, candidates were almost illiterate, innumerate and generally quite thick. Cannon fodder for the likes of Plant, Littner and the others who are all as sharp as a tack.
There were fired candidates that actually had business experience. Would've liked to see Mark or Joseph in the final five. Some of these people were just lucky to be on the winning team. Marnie had the best business out of the 5.
They should have more than one person interviewing them at a time. No one has one on one interviews any more.
This season hasn’t been a patch on last year’s season.
They said last seasons was the all-time worst too.

Linda is always, whats the point of an interview if you won't let the applicant respond without yelling over them.
contestants were bad this year. should find some real business people. none of them know basic maths, branding or have any common sense. interviewers had nothing to go from and were grasping at straws.
There are lots of family cafes/bars in the UK. Its hard to do well but they do exist.
I’d of definitely gone with her. It was the most obvious choice.

The interviews were awful. I cringed the whole time. Yes the candidates were pretty dumb (oh they were... really were), but whats worse is that they took this opportunity to bully them! I mean, cmon, they knew who they were puttin on the show, they probably saw their business plans too! It was pure nastiness. Interview? Nobody got to answer a damn question without interruption. Put me off, don't think I'll be tuning in again. The contestants were awful and it was used against them. Bullying little sheets 🤨

The candidates this year were very poor, but the behaviour of the some the interviewers was quite questionable, especially Baroness Brady, it felt like she was being mean for the sake of good television.

I personally would not want to be interviewed by these people. They are cruel and destructive. I know it's part of the process on The Apprentice and it's a great watch. My favourite part of the show is the boardroom where Lord Sugar has the final word.

I think the interviews are the best part of the show. I love watching Linda Plant and Claud best. It is up to the contestants to be better prepared, they know they will be grilled. They never know the costing for their businesses, how do they expect Lord Sugar to invest his own money in them.

I can't believe candidates throughout the last few seasons of The Apprentice have become more clueless as ever with what they're trying to achieve. I'm sure they have ambitions and the potential to become successful businesspeople, but they definitely aren't really certain about what they truly want in the long run. Even if we get more clueless candidates this year, I'll still watch purely for the entertainment factor of this show.

Omg all she had to say was that her USP was the mermaid AESTHETIC. Obviously mermaids aren't real, but saying that her USP is the mermaid AESTHETIC would've made tons more sense.

Marnie should've left week one, Dani should've left week 8, Rochelle should've left everytime she lost. Megan and Victoria were the only decent candidates left, and Victoria's business plan was terrible so I thought Megan would be a clear winner 😅

For years I avoided this show, quite happily, but one evening last year, I dozed in my chair, instead of going to bed, and woke to be met with the late night repeat of the earlier episode. Being too idle to move, I watched some young men and women attempt to make a visit to a slate mine, in the rain, seem worth the ticket price. There was a zip-line involvement, I think.
I've been to that mine, and it's an interesting place but it didn't cost me the price these poor sods were being charged, so there must have been more to it. Anyway, I dipped in and out of the rest of the series, to see if my instinctive reactions to the applicants was right, bearing in mind that the series was a long way in by then. They were right, not that that's a comfort.
This series, again, I picked it up three episodes ago, and if anything, I thought that the applicants were worse, and if I was looking for someone to sponsor and guide, not one of those that I saw would have lasted to the end of the first day. Still, what do I know! My working life was menial, factories and offices, production lines and clerical work. Important to the companies but not material for long-running TV series', headed by multi-millionaires with very wealthy sidekicks, so I have no qualifications to judge.
Full disclosure - I cannot abide Karren Brady. I've never liked her, she's dead behind the eyes. Her parting shot to one of young women, that only her friends call her by her name, was especially nasty.
I thought Tim was a pleasant man, I have no idea who he is or what he did to get a place by Alan Sugar's side. Claude Littner seems likeable, but that woman, Linda - what a thoroughly unpleasant person! Who is she? What does she do?
And the applicants! Not one with any individuality! Why can't they accept their own faces as perfectly pleasant, with no need to muck around with their mouths? Identi-kit outfits, smart and suitable for the office but again, no personality.
I didn't see enough of the men to form any opinion, apart from the one whose instructions were ignored by the groups making the skin product. I stopped feeling any sympathy for him when he dumped his team during the presentation.
I've taken up enough of your time on here, but still have so many questions! So one last comment: all the young adults clamouring and back-stabbing to work with Alan Sugar - who really does know what he's talking about, have created successful careers and lives by their own hard work, and well done to them. Why do they need to kow-tow to unpleasant women like the Baroness, who is a thoroughly bad influence on young girls, and the Linda-person, ditto?

The show isn't even worth watching anymore. People that have business plans and dont budget for staff or stock or miscalculate rent by 300k and dont know turnover or profit.

I only started watching The Apprentice this year and quickly became hooked on it . After watching the contestants, I was surprised at how dumb they were at the tasks. I could do better and I'm not a businessperson. After seeing their final interviews, I wouldn't invest in any of them. I thought this show only casts really accomplished and intelligent people. The answer to Linda's question on how does pick n mix business relates to being flight attendant was so ludicrous and embarrassing...😂
