Thanks for the great illustration. My 40G Lowes 240v WH quit for no reason. I replaced both elements and both thermostats. Wiring is correct, but the sob still won't work!!!
Thank you! Hmmm. Have you verified that you have power coming to the water heater? Also did you notice excessive scale buildup when you pulled the elements out? I'm just throwing ideas out there, because I'm not sure what you have tried.
I’m confused by the electric of this system. Why are there two hots and why isn’t there a neutral? How do the elements not just always stay on if they’ve always got 120V going to them?
