I find it’s kind of disrespectful or even offensive to the people who are asked and the Thais in general. I’m glad that Tarn didn’t take offense by it.

@@i_heart_Ava.. Because the "Third Gender" AKA transsexual people are a pretty common thing in Thailand, and although I'm far from the most PC sort? I agree that it's often couched in a rude manner disguised as being "funny" by foreigners, and I dislike that as well. I won't go screaming at people about it, but I do find it tasteless to be asking such a personal question unless you're dating someone, myself.

Agree. I found them many times in her vids and others. Can even tell where most of them are from (and have no wonder because some even threatened to kill a Thai gay couple along with their relatives early this year without a cause related to them at all. Even Microsoft DCI (Digital Civility Index) pointed their netizen are the rudest of their region and the 29th of 32 countries fr the level of politeness. (more funny is that they got angry so they attacked and demanded Microsoft to shut that survey website) Search for the news for yourself if you need) Those who ask might think it's cool. Tell you -- it's not at all. Quite rude. Instead of judge the LGBTQ as freak or weirdo and make fun or bully them, if you look over their gender preference and think of them as human who need love and acceptance like all including you, you will see that they are not difference. And to be honest, what's wrong if somebody with talented are LGBTQ? Does they gender preference worsen their talent? If it'S so, I would recommend those who asked not to listen to Freddy Mercury, Elton John, etc. or watch Ellen DeGeneres, Elliot Page, Zachary Quinto, etc. Some of the comments are from some faith/culture infamous for sexual discrimination. If I were them, I would try to show the world they are wrong, not to prove that they are right. You might not like LGBTQ. That's OK. But at least have manners. Their life is their right. Respect others harms none. Besides, what you do reflect your background -- how well you educated, how you were raised by your parents, etc. Please remember that.
Most Thai can find this question offensive, regardless of their gender or sexual orientation.

I've just searched for some Senri Kawaguchi videos and I'm speechless. She's amazing.
There's a really good Drumeo video featuring her if you haven't seen it yet.
Senri was the youngest ever (age 13) to be added to DrummerWorld's Top 500 Drummers OF ALL TIME, until she was succeeded by Yoyoka (Age 11). Akane of Band-Maid is also a top notch drummer (check out her drum solo at 2:07 in "Freedom"), as is Tarn of course. Not trying to compare. Check all of these young ladies out. THEY ARE (and others) ALL THE BEST IN THE WORLD! They will all leave you speechless. Oh, and JUNNA (a powerhouse beast!). She smashes the cymbals like Tarn. Yoyoka cracked two cymbals playing "Kill The King" and dubbed it "Kill The Cymbals". Akane's nickname is "Gorilla".

I understand why some people would ask that, i wondered that my self whether tarn is a girl or a boy. But in times like this, quite a lot of people that we thought were women turns out to be a man, even in places like where i come from where it's considered a taboo for a man dressing as a woman/transexual there is still considerably a lot of people who does that. We were just genuinely curious, because she looks a little less feminine, not that it's bad but it sometimes just raise a question due to the situation i mentioned earlier. Regardless of her gender i still think she's a talented drummer
I had a co-worker from Thailand that worked front desk at a time share with me. People used to get really mad at him (some more then others) when he spoke to them sometimes (O.k alot of sometimes) He would ask me sometimes "Why is everyone getting so mad at me?" LOL!! He was the nicest person in the world I don't think there was a mean bone in his body however, I would tell him "Well, sometimes, it sounds like you are barking orders at them" OMG good times

ชอบมากครับ เล่นเก่งมาก เมื่อก่อนผมก็เล่นดนตรีครับ พอผมป่วยเป็นซึมเศร้าความกระหายอยากเล่นก็เริ่มลดลงๆ จนไม่มีความรู้สึกอยากเล่น ต่อให้หยิบกีต้าร์ขึ้นมาจะเล่น แต่ก็เล่นได้ไม่เกิน30นาทีก็จะรู้สึกเบื่อ ทึกวันนี้ก็ยังรักษาตัวอยู่ เริ่มอยากกลับมาเล่น แต่กลายเป็นว่า ลืม!! ลืมทุกอย่าง แต่ดีที่ยังพอตีคอร์ดได้ สมาธิไม่ดีเหมือนเมื่อก่อน ตอนนี้รู้สึกเหมือนหัดเล่นใหม่ๆครับ อยากเล่นแต่ทำไม่ได้ ขอกำลังใจหน่อยครับ เกือบ 4 ปีแล้วที่ต้องรักษาโรคนี้ และเป็นระยะเวลาเท่าๆกันกับการที่ไม่ได้จับกีต้าร์เลย

My question is...I know you can speak English very clear and good so is there any specific reason why you rarely choose to speak that language in some Q&A segments? Regardless if answered or not I still appreciate your talent and much love and respect from America.
Maybe because most of the fans are Thais?
I'm sure that is the number one reason and I was unsure how to ask that question without it sounding disrespectful to her own culture and language. I still appreciate the energy and excitement she brings to drumming.
@@ronaldberry3063 nah it's not disrespectful at all since more than half of us are bad at English. Instead, we're really glad to see tons of foreign audiences giving attention to Thai people because we don't usually get that much recognition.

I’m Thai and I guess I understand why she feels more comfortable answering in Thai.
My English is of course not perfect, but definitely is much better than most Thais. I can watch movies in English, read news in English, etc. without much difficulty. However, my weakest point is speaking English and it’s because I rarely get a chance to practice it living in Thailand. I guess this is the same for many Thais including Tarn. At 4:14 she actually said she would answer in Thai because she’s not comfortable answering in English.

I only asked because when I first started following her I found a long interview she did in English about why she loves to play drums, her influences, and talking about how she teaches music and is venturing into learning other instruments. So the more I started to follow her TH-cam and Facebook channel and catch these Q&A's they were always in Thai . It's no biggie to me as long as I am able to read the subtitles because I don't know anything about your language so it would be pointless for me. I just really enjoy watching her play because I can see how she just closes her eyes and jams out. It comes so natural to her and she gets into it instead of just looking like a bored woman playing the drums.

Honestly I’ve always put her deep voice down to her language. If she spoke in English for a bit her voice would probably be a slightly bit higher pitch. She’s still gorgeous though
I often hear that people’s voice usually higher when speaking Thai.
It's opposite, Most people(include Foreign) will speak higher pitch when they speak Thai language.
