Good road test, as usual. I've had mine over a year, and I think it's just brilliant. Bought as a second bike mainly to get through winter, it is a superb town scoot. It's so smooth, if feels like you are gliding along. Brakes and handling are excellent, and I'm a heavy bloke. My only nit-pic is I found the mirrors showed half of my arms as well as the road behind. I've also toured on it, and it has been great fun. It'll leave most cars at the lights too! Great stuff! Ride safe, mate.
@@exeterrider The early scoots with this name had a very small screen, like a broad fly screen, this indicates that it was made for the warmer and dryer climates such as Spain portugal, Italy southern france etc.where there is a larger market for such scooters. In fact all such scooter are far more popular on the Continent than motorcycles. I think its a fashion thing. One can't wear normal clothes on a motorcycle but one sees it all the time on a scooter [ dangerous tho that is ] Its brill at round town work and economical but with our weather in the UK a screen becomes a necessary option and a screen that protects against bad weather will cost in terms of power, speed and economy. It's a catch 22 situation ,one either wants weather protection or suffer the consequences.it will still do 70 mph plus with a screen on. Anyway who wants to do 95 mph plus on our roads I know that I don't.
Really enjoyed your review of the Honda Forza 300, (4 years after the ride)? Thoughts & comments were very thorough, well organized & appropriate for any potential buyer! Wishing you the very best. Rola (Oregon / USA).
Just to add. The positives are great storage, wide comfy seat, so smooth and good economy. Negatives are horrible buffeting on motorway, im 5ft 11 and the wind blast was not good at all, mirrors not wide enough with very poor visabilty altho this is good for filteting and horn to indicator placement is bad.
I'm also 5'11 but I sit in a more relaxed position and with the screen up (I wear an open face helmet and no goggles) it has so far kept everything out of my eyes, even at night! I'm with you on the mirrors though, just an extra inch would make a huge difference. Horn position is bad, should be where the info button is but these are minor niggles compared at the overall enjoyment it gives us.
Thank you for the review. I bought the Honda Forza 125 cc then progressed to the 300cc. If a new buyer is expecting a noticable power difference between the two you will be disappointed. However, great storage which I increased by purchasing Givi top box/tank bag. Average mpg for me is just under 80 mpg. I will be touring on it.
Great review ER. I test drove (hired) one for 4 days over 1,200kms on the back roads and mountains in Thailand, loved every second. A tiny bit under powered on the steep mountain inclines, but not a major issue. I had it up to 130kms/hr on the highway, more than enough to keep up with traffic and better them. Under seat storage is phenomenal, I carried a large back pack filled to the seams and still room for a jacket and bits. Thinking I needed more power I've just hired / tested a Honda X-ADV 750, great ride but heavy and hot between the legs where the engine is, also lacking in the storage department, including no glove box. Having driven a PCX for 6 years, I fancied a change, hence the interest in the X-ADV, but from a practical point of view, I think the Forza takes the biscuit as a good / comfortable all rounder, pottering, touring and the highway dash. I don't think you mentioned the large glove box with charger point. Cheers, Chris.
exeter rider Yes, it has wonderful countryside, coastlines and islands, lovely people and great food. But,,, it can get very hot, especially if you don the full riding protective gear! Hence my comment about the heat off the X-ADV engine. Now I understand why Thais ignore traffic lights....
Good review. I've had mine for nearly 3 years and it's mainly used as a winter workhorse. It's nippy round town, 60mph all day, and I've toured on it a few times and it's been great fun. (My favourite scoot was the Burgman 650, but the ageing process made it too heavy to back up in car parks etc). I find it hard to criticise the Forza for what it is. My only gripe is I get through tyres every 3000 miles or so. But I'm fortunate enough to always have a motorcycle in my garage too. Take care, ride safe.
Greetings from Pattaya, Thailand. I was thinking of upgrading from my Honda Click (which some tour all over Thailand on) to an ADV 150 or something similar, but this or the Xmax 300 is obviously so much better. At 60, I appreciate comfort, and so does my pillion rider. Thanks for the vid!
Really enjoyed your review - I've had several SH300's but feel tempted by the Forza next - or an Xmax . By the way, I've always owned bikes but wouldn't be without my scooter now - real fun to ride and more versatile in many ways
I have the previous Forza 300 and love it. Honda are now releasing a new 350 for 2021. They've made the screen 40mm bigger but I need a test ride to see if it has as much legroom as my year model. Nice review, cheers.
We have racked up 6000km both touring and in the heavy Bangkok traffic and I love it. Absolutely perfect, comfy and goes well. We have a big Shad box with a backrest on + small rack for the tent and it carries two of us and all the camping gear without any issues. If it were just riding in Bangkok, I'd have bought a PCX150 though, the only slight niggle is the lightness of the steering on full lock sneaking around the cars in stood traffic and the stupid place they put the document holder which nicks an inch from the height of the luggage capacity in the middle of the underseat. Absolutely love with it! We did Koh Samui in 10 hours (750km) and it runs 31km per litre with two of us and luggage. 10.5 litre tank. We didn't have any aching backsides and were fresh as a daisy upon arrival. We have zero wobble, even at 140 but heard reports of some people that do, sorted by rebalancing the front wheel. Effortless, fun riding and feels solid on the fast bends. Half the price of an ugly Burgman and much more practical.
I wrote mine off banking too low on a tight corner. I think the skirt touched the ground tipping the the wheels off the road. I busted my ankle, hip and prolapaed a disc. Im still in a state and told I need the vertibrae fusing. Be careful and dont expect them to stck to the road. I learned he hard way
That’s interesting to hear. I ride mine like I stole it. Racing bikes through the twisties... well, basically trying to keep up with the bike in front. Not great on the straights but I rarely slow down for the corners giving me the opportunity to catch up. I do ride for about 10 minutes to warm the tyres up, but I might look into changing them as I think half the fun of this scooter is it’s ability around corners... always trying to get respect from the much faster bikes haha. I have much bigger and faster bikes but this is such a hoot! Thank you very much for writing the above and I hope you are recovering well.
Very informative. Thinking of swapping my NC750 X DCT for the new Forza 350 that's just come out. Arthritic knees, metal hip and age are making position on most motorbikes uncomfortable now on longer journeys and getting on and off tall bikes is an issue. Test rode the 350 and was really impressed. Belt drive also has its attraction over chain maintenence.
@@exeterrider Yes I think so. The NC has been great over the past couple of years ( I've put 20k miles on it), but I'm not finding it comfortable over long distances mainly due to hip and knee issues. I don't carry a pillion very often and think the new 350 would be ideal as it will easily maintain 70 mph on the motorway and allows you to change foot/leg position. Also offers great storage for longer tours and won't have to crawl around adjusting the chain! I've been told that they even go pretty well with a pillion - but that's not really an issue for me as wife only hops on for the odd short trip. Also interested in the Xmax and the Burgman 400 but GT in Plymouth haven't got any demo scoots at the moment. Meant to be test riding the c400GT at Ocean Plymouth , when weather improves a bit, hopefully one day next week.
I think it's a fabulous bike I am one of those people that doesn't want to shift gears. I want to just turn the handle and go period and this bike has plenty of pep it has plenty of stop it's the bike for me. I'm hoping to get one come income tax time 2020 or something like that period it really does turn me on this bike. Thank you again for showing it to us
The Forza has character, single cylinder power delivery, so relaxing, seat is comfortable, should be good for 200 mile rides, my Forza is due in a few days, one half-hour test ride om the demonstrator convinced me to buy one, I have been riding for 50 years, I used to have an RG500, I felt the same "this right for me" with the Forza as the RG
Honda missed the boat again with short Leg room !. Why not have blocks in plastic. or any material to remove from the foot area if you want 10 cm more to stretch out. You unbolt the blocks or take away in 5 cm increments. EZ then any tall person over 5.6 or 150 cm can ride comfortable !
Nice looking scooter as well. My daily is an Xmax 125 which is super practical but heavy to put onto the centre stand compared to this! Just passed the first part of my A2 yesterday morning so getting ready for my road lessons. Bikes here I come in 2020!
@@exeterrider Mine is the 2017 version so not keyless but a great engine. As you mentioned though, crash suspension at speed if the road surface gets really rough. Not sure for the bike. I ride every day and need some practicality so probably something like a Versys 650, Tracer 700 or Honda 500x. But I could also get a 300 or 400cc scooter as my daily, and a smaller bike for weekend fun. Any thoughts?
@@exeterrider Yes, I like the Versys. A friend recommended the Benelli TRK 500 also. A bit left field but cheaper and fully specced? And of course the Honda NC 750 X!!
@@simonthomas5367 is the trk is well priced and high spec. I'm a fan but the only thing I can say is the dealer you buy from needs to be really helpful and eager to put things right if something goes wrong. They seem reliable to my and I was tempted at one point to get one. The nc is a good bike.
Fantastic review. I own this scooter here in Australia and I can tell you it does everything well. This is my sixth bike embarrassingly but I tell you that because I use it probably more than the others because of practicality and it’s surprisingly fun. Plenty of storage. You can go somewhere and store your helmet, jacket and gloves under the seat. Have your wallet, phone and keys in the storage bin up front. The first thing I did was replace the short screen. It will go on the freeway no problem here, and you can have fun in the twisties.
I've been looking at this scooter for a while for the practicality and a great computer for getting around on. Storage space is a big plus. Id most likely get a rear box too though. For what I need a bike for this scooter ticks all the boxes for me and do me for many years ahead. Really good review. Thanks so much for sharing. Looking forward to getting one.
@@exeterrider Not on any sour note but the space underneath the seats is definately big enough to take two open face helmets,. possibly two full face ones, as with many other scooters that sell well on the continent, especially Italy. However it wont take a flip top which I ride with . So if one wants a secure compartment for one then one needs a back box. ok.
@@judgedredd49 that's good to know. I don't have a flip top helmet but I prefer them as choice. There looks plenty of room under the seat for most people but the box would benefit me for the extra convenience. I currently ride a vfr 750. I'm not going to get the same power but its not what I want one for. I've previously enjoyed scooters for A to B use and with what the forzas has to offer me is perfect as a workhorse and computer. It's the practicality of it thats a huge plus for me and good fuel consumption. I've just got to get one now!
@@wurzel1873 Wurz need I say get your leg over man and as soon as you can. Take it for a spin for at least an hour or maybe more, have a brew, look it all over and providing the mirrors are ok for you to see perfectly well behind you and it's what you want in terms of transport then go ahead and buy one. I bought an older version cos the mirrors are extendable but not on the new models those with electrics in them. Take care how you ride and always ride safely.
Thanks v much for the review, forza 300 looks like the bees knees. At six feet three i'm glad you gave the seat position demo as it could be a bit tight for me. I have an sh125 that came with top box and screen, and it's a reasonable fit for me. Will consider the forza, although a 2020 sh has just been released, with a euro 5 compliant engine additional under seat storage new electronic dash layout etc. I'd have to get a sit on the forza before committing to a purchase.
Thanks for the comment John. Yes it may be a bit tight for you to be honest. The SH will suit you better. Although not as stylish the SH is everything you want in a scoot. Thanks E. R👍🍻
@@exeterrider I've heard so many things like that yea! I want to start learning in the next few months when I'm 16 but my parents (mum) is very against any of our family ever getting any vehicle other than a car so I'm not sure how I'll be able to ride which sucks, though I still research and admire bikes every day
I like the start-stop on mine. not so much for the fuel savings coz it's frugal enough like you said. but it's really much more comfortable waiting at the lights that way. no noise, no vibration, really peaceful
I had an 07 plate SH300i and boy did that thing fly along. Recently bought a new SH125i and that thing is quick by 125 standards. Think the next time I change my geared bike ill look at a 300 Forza, my first bike was a 125 Honda Pantheon and have fond memories of the feet forward riding position.
@@jonathandeeley6276 The sh 300i engine based on a Honda motocrosser engine it's a peach and vastly underrated in the sh. The Forza a fair bit heavier so lacks that initial acceleration ,but makes up for it in looks and carrying capacity . Big fan of scooters ,me and I ride a Triumph at present.

I am lucky enough to own the 300 Forza and the NC750 X and I love both of these machines even tho they are different in their own ways. Rode the Forza to London and back from Devon with no issues what so ever. I just have two minor issues however with the Forza, one is the screen is just too short even on its full extent. The other is you can not get two full face helmets under the seat due to a silly bracket attached underneath which I think is supposed to hold the owners manual. I got round this by fitting a top box, even so a lovely scooter 🥰
exeter rider I tend to alternate between the two as I commute around 15 miles a day. I upgraded from the NC700 to the 750X two years ago as I have family in Bristol and London so do a fair few miles visiting. The NC is perfect for that due to it’s crazy MPG. However I started to get hip issues early in the year and was struggling to get on the bike so went to Bridge to try a step through, was offered the Forza and it was love at first sight. It was my intention to trade in the NC to cover the cost but could not bring myself to it much to the wife’s disgust 😂 Anyway hip better now and as I said I really enjoy them both. Yes under the seat there is a plastic bracket right in the middle which looses you around two inches in height and makes it almost impossible to get two helmets in.
Nice review again my friend, xmax 300 next please as I've just popped my scooter cherry on one & averaging 85+mpg with my paddleboard on the side (welcome to come & have a look/ride), nearly went for the Forza. I find these very flickable / comical to ride & don't miss the tiger 800. Shame our egos stop them from being as popular here in blighty.
Thats interesting to know your getting 85 Steve. Id like to try a X-max but getting hold of one is tricky. And yes - scooters would suit many people who don't even give them a chance. Where are you based to again? Thanks for watching! E.R
Love your video. PS have subscribed. Me and my wife are both bikers, I have the Honda nc750x dct and Love it. She has a Kawasaki z650. But she used to have a Honda Pcx loved it but said it was lacking on power on the open roads. So looking at buying this for my wife to ride because of the storage, she is to short to ride my nc750x. Hopefully she will be able to reach the ground OK. Stay Safe.
It's great to have you along thank you. Yeap the NC is a nice bike. I have ridden most bikes and I had a z650 for a day. Very fun bikes - it bought the looney out in me lol. Thanks for becoming part of my channel👍🍻🏍️
This may be too late of a reply but could be informative for others. Regarding the ride height the only thing you do when stopping is slide forward on the ball of the seat. The weight is very low so when compared to a motorbike it feels much lighter. I’d say equivalent to 125kg. I have a few bikes. It’s probably on par with my monkey bike to manoeuvre around the garage. But the size of my Vstrom 1000. It is high for anyone 5f 8 and below but as I said you just scoot forward on the seat when stopping. Excellent scooter... so much fun and can definitely keep up with motorbikes.
The competition is the Yamaha X-MAX 300/400, the Kymco CruiSym 300, Kymco S400i, Piaggio Beverly 300, BMW C400X/GT but not the T-MAX. T-MAX is comparable with a Kymco AK550, another great bike by the way. You should give it a try.
@@exeterrider If you have the opportunity to get your hands on a AK550 it would be great. Saw it in person, I have the buyers remose for Purchasing the Forza 300, not because it's not a good bike, it handles brilliant and does exactly what you said, however, for 2K EUR more I would have gotten twice the power, double disc brakes and a proper suspension setup. I was hoping Honda would release the Neo CB650R last autumn in Milan with a DCT transmission but they didn't. Now I have limited options. I wish manufacturers or someone from their PR department would watch these videos too and have available bikes for test drive. Good luck and stay safe.
Hola a México! Fui a Cancún en 2005, lo pasé muy bien. Tienes un clima tan agradable. Solo llueve aquí lol. Gracias por mirar y es genial saber que me estoy comunicando contigo. todo lo mejor para el exeterrider 2021
Traction control is not so much about power as it is about what's on the road, anything that stops it hitting the floor on a greasy roundabout is all good in my book.
been a biker all my life... i got meself a 400cc piaggio after riding scoot on greek holiday ... got bored of it, was a bit heavy and handling was questionable.... but i fancy a lighter modern 300... i miss the simplicity, unbeatable for a town commute.. my ,missus loved the huge rear seat and being up high looking at everything... we can chat better on rides in the pocket of air you sit in behind the screen etc.. and i dont feel the need to wear heavy motorbike gear all the time on a scoot... probably because i ride them a bit slower... im 55 yrs old now ive done all the biking scene to death.... i feel a re visit to maxi scoot ownership....
Agree with most of your comments - I would say a boring bike but so efficient in all ways, safe, fuel-efficient, good storing capacities, easy to drive, BUT ugly-looking, a bit heavy in cornering, not so stable on wet roads, not-convincing emergency braking - a good service horse with no fun. I sold it back after 1,900km to buy a Yamaha.
I never drove 1 of these before but I was thinking about getting 1 to save on money so I don't have to drive my car everywhere. Is the maintenance on this cheaper than a normal car? Also, how many long does a scooter last for? Like how many miles. Usually for good cars you'll start running into maintenance issues after 70,000-100,000 miles. Do scooters last longer?
Bane that's a Heck of a profile pic you have there. Scooters normally lasts around the same amount of mileage as cars. servicing wise Is cheaper and much easier to do yourself if your intermediate with spanners. Parking is free nearly everywhere and it's a nice way of getting around. Have you got a full licence or do you need to do a cbt (UK only)
Thank you for that review. I would never have condsidered a scooter like that. I do not like the shape of the seat with the lumbar support on it. I would prefer a flat seat so you can move your bum forward or back on the seat. And of course, in Thailand where I live, you can easily carry 4 people if it was a flat bench seat.
John Anderson. No problem, 6 up I reckon, 2 small velcroed bums on pillion, a short youth on the petrol tank and a baby in a chest sling, then another short one in the seat compartment...... :-)
Guy your right, I made a booboo! I have just edited that part out and will take TH-cam a few hours to update it. I appreciate you saying- bit embarrassing to be honest but we all make them! Thanks E.R
Great review bud, thanks. Do you still have your Burgie 650? I have had Burgie’s for some years now and love them, though the older I get, and I am OLD now!, the more I wonder whether it’s worth trading ‘her’ in for a 300cc bike again - I had the Forza 300 old style and I THINK this new one may be too tall for me - I’m 5ft 6.5’ (don’t know my inside leg) but I think when we’re able, I may try this one again so thanks again for the UK review.
Appreciate your comment Toria. I sold my burger 650 in 2008. I don't think I would trade a big burger for this one because they are great but the 300 a good bike also. Appreciate you watching thanks.
Sorry Matthew, I haven't but would like to try one. I think they may not be the best looking scooters but they are technically speaking one of the best. I'll see if I can get my hands on one 🍻👍
Appreciate the review! Any thought comparison to the X-MAX 300 for a 6’2” dude (who had lower back surgery 3 months ago). Looking for comfort ;-). Thx man!
Thankyou! At your height and considering the scooters seating postion and your lower back surgery these scooters are harsher on the rear suspension compared to a conventional motorcycle. it's not a very good mix. I haven't ridden the x max 300 but I hear they are a bit thirsty on fuel and they are alot more bulky looking. My gut feeling is you would be better looking into the burgman 400 perhaps?
what would you say to ppl who think that scooters are dangerous because their engine is in the back, and therefore it's more difficult to swerve or avoid stuff like you would do on a regular motorcycle?
Was really liking the 750 especially in the denim blue color and as usual Honda decides not to ship it to the US. 300 is good too just wish they would stop the selective crap on where to ship it. Whoever is making poor decisions like that should be fired it’s very short sighted on their part. May wait there are rumors of a 350 or 300 adv coming my way. Another tragedy they won’t import the X ADV
@@magpiemale not a easy one. For me The x max would be out, the Burgman is good.... Very good but becoming dated. I think Forza would take it for me, I must admit the burger is also a very good choice.

Thanks for watching them Lee, the x max is quite heavy on fuel so watch out for that. I would also consider the burgman 400 which is a good scoot too and will be able to give you the option of bigger trips. I had a burgman 650 years ago and it was a great tourer but more than what you need. To be honest if your only doing 5 miles a day I would stick with a 125 if its mainly riding through town stuff you do. Thanks for watching my videos. Appreciate it👍
It's a pleasure to watch your videos especially in English!! Must say been looking at the burgman aswel, if my little pcx125 went a little quicker I would I probably stay with it but only does 62 64 max plus if I pass my A2 I'll need that little extra oomph especially on motorway, thanks for replying back to me stay safe.🛵
@@leeyates520 yeap I know what you mean. Ive owned two 125s and as much as I like them you do feel you need that extra power above 50. Stay in contact I'll be intrested in what you get next. Sometimes it's a nice change to be able to change gears etc, you would soon get used to it as I did and it is nice not having the "over run" you get from a scooter. Just a thought. Good luck with your test. I wish you all the luck with it👍🍺

Not in the slightest. The possiable issue there is that it is really smooth so you don't get the thrill of opening it up like you will on a cb300r, bmw 310r etc. It goes ok👍🍻🏍️
No it just does "what it says on the tin" It will suit alot of people including the practical minded and commuter's . As you say for fun factor it's OK in the way you can have fun on any 2 wheeled bike but some more than others.
@@exeterrider Horses for courses I suppose. I've got the same bike as you, NC750, but mine's the S version. Had a MK2 for five years and part-exed it for the latest MK4 - noticeably better all round - seat, dash, lights, exhaust etc. But most significant is the rev limiter's been raised to 7500. It's still got all the great strong torque characteristics (especially from very low in the rev range) but now you can rev it out more, getting 10 or 12 mph extra out of every gear.
Dude. I have the 2019 model ( built 2018/same shape as your one) in Australia, I’t doesn’t have stop start feature like the pcx150. Does it have it in UK........? It is a great all rounder bike. Not as nimble and insanely learnable as per the PCX (2019) that I had, but I could go out of perth in it as it struggles over 100kpmh, and if there’s a hill she’s down to 75/80kmph. So I traded the PCX for this model.
Hi mate, no it dosent have start stop feature. I made a mistake and now can't edit it out! Lol. Yes the 300 is quite capable of anything you chuck at it. Ride safe.
Far too costly for a city commuter where the pcx150 is more than enough. Also, I wish a bit more time had been taken to demonstrate the under the seat storage volume as the assertion that a full face helmet could be accommodated in the rear as well as the front position was not in anyway supported by the quick demonstrated positioning of the helmet in either position - leaving one to wonder just what exactly the real storage capabilities are for materials other than simply 2 helmets- assuming they actually do fit. Similarly, there seems to be no options for other small but very useful accoutremounts such as the ability to accommodate a secure phone mount for maps etc and video cameras able to see around the windshield. Rather strange omissions, especially given the ubiquitousness of the use of phones for such purposes in Asia....
Sorry but there is a big problem with the mirrors and that may make it one of the most dangerous machines on the road. Its possibly ok for standard persons of say 5' 9 " tall and not of any great bulk but I am over 6ft tall and weigh in at 17 stone so pretty broad and not even pretty.,, I found that with the short stalks on the mirrors i was only seeing my arms and elbows and no matter what I did I could not alter the rear view of either mirror to my satisfaction. I have had dozens of bikes and scooters in my past but the amount of vision that I had with this one only was dangerous to me and to other road users. The older Forza had the mirrors fitted on the handlebars and if they were on too short a stalk one could buy a lengthener. However these new mirrors are attached to the bodywork and have electrics going through them so no extensions or longer stalks are available. So whilst i love the bike it's biggest drawback to me is a safety issue a lack of safety due to no rear view of traffic.
I must add that I liked the bike so much I have just purchased a 2013 one but the advantage is its got additions to the mirror stalks and now I can see tailgators where I couldn't see anything behind me at all with the latest model. It's no doubt a popular bike and sells well so I can imagine that for many a riders they don't have the same unfortunate problem that I had so its certainly won't be as dangerous as stated to them..Its certainly a bike to be considered and enjoyed.
hello, nice review. I only have 2 more questions. I also saw your review of the Vespa 300 hpe. And I doubt between these 2 scooters. The prices are almost the same. Which would you choose?
@@exeterrider dat is zeker 😂.......By the way, I have already done a test drive on the Vespa. And that was excellent. I will soon also take a test drive on the Forza 👍
1990 Hire one first and do a good run. As you know there are no meaningful test drives from dealers in Thailand. The X-ADV is quite heavy and blooming hot from the engine between the legs in this hot country. Otherwise a great bike with fantastic DCT auto and manual options. A bit of storage but no comparison with the Forza, and no glove box. Loved the styling and ride, but not as practical as the Forza. I'm struggling with the choice also, but my last trip on the X-ADV, I think, convinced me it's not the one, also the price at almost £11,000 at the current exchange rate is hard to swallow. For me, I reckon a strategic hire in the area you want to tour would be a practical solution to the touring aspect. It would take me 6 days each way to get from Krabi to Chiang Mai for instance, for the Mae Hong Son loop tour, at say 2-3,000 THB/day in petrol, hotels and food, would go a long way towards the flight and a bike hire. Also less hassle hiring in other countries such as Vietnam, Cambodia, etc.
exeter rider yeah, I did sit on every biggish scooter at the NEC bike show and very much liked the Kymco big scooter. Surprisingly first glance quality build and finish. Subscribed. !!!
Haha! I tried to do a review on a burgman I once had but when I played it back I realised I kept saying "yea" or "yes" when I wasnt sure what to say so didn't bother again! But no decent review thanks I'm definitely looking to replace my current scoot (an old honda fes250) with one these when I can find a decent winter bargain, all the best mate.
David Shaw I always enjoy the non rehearsed review with plenty of er and erms. It feels honest from a every day person. If you are here for the review on the scooter you don’t really pay attention to it.
@@florme6494 thanks mate, yes I'm no professional and don't try to be. Believe me I do cringe when I edited these vids but I don't bear myself up about it. I am getting better all the time with your support. Thanks
Thank you for showing your riding position on the bike. I wish more reviewers would do that.
Thanks Barry for mentioning. I often wonder if I'm doing the right thing showing seat postion so I will keep doing that now 👍
Good road test, as usual.
Great bike for winter ! The way the bodywork keeps you away from the elements in winter is fantastic. Thanks for watching it. E.R
i dont get why people call these inner city commuters. it does 75+ thats more than capable for most roads. id say its more of a sports scooter.
Yes I was surprised how well it did at high speeds. Its just the screen that rians high speed work, but I'm sure that can be sorted via the interweb.
@@exeterrider just get a good helmet you will not notice screen height if not get a car
Really enjoyed your review of the Honda Forza 300, (4 years after the ride)? Thoughts & comments were very thorough, well organized & appropriate for any potential buyer! Wishing you the very best. Rola (Oregon / USA).
Glad it was helpful Thanks you......I have more coming up on this bike in 2 months time : )
@@exeterrider Will be looking, (I’m subscribed)! Best, R👍🏻
@@rolacook222 Brill Thanks : )
@@exeterrider My pleasure! R👍🏻
Thanks John my pleasure. I couldn't believe how good it was on faster roads. Quite a strong motor in that one.
Hi John would you recommend the 125 over the 300?
That would have been lovely riding over there. Your right storage is fantastic.
exeter rider
Yes, it has wonderful countryside, coastlines and islands, lovely people and great food.
Thanks mate. Yes scooters do eat tires don't they. As a winter hack it's ideal. 👍😉
I'm really surprised that you're going through rubber that quickly! What type of tires are you running.
Excellent review! One of if not the best reviewer out there! Covered all my questions and then some. Thank you
Thanks for watching! Appreciate that ,Thankyou
Really enjoyed your review - I've had several SH300's but feel tempted by the Forza next - or an Xmax . By the way, I've always owned bikes but wouldn't be without my scooter now - real fun to ride and more versatile in many ways
Yeap I agree. To be honest the sh300 tecnicly speaking is proberly the best scooter out there in recent years.
I have the previous Forza
300 and love it. Honda are now releasing a new 350 for 2021. They've made the screen 40mm bigger but I need a test ride to see if it has as much legroom as my year model. Nice review, cheers.
Thanks Splodge, Yes I have heard about the 350 and infact a 750. 2021 could be interesting!
You have certinly ridden in some nice places. As a light tourer for those places it's ideal. I was very surprised how well it handled highway speeds.
I wrote mine off banking too low on a tight corner. I think the skirt touched the ground tipping the the wheels off the road. I busted my ankle, hip and prolapaed a disc. Im still in a state and told I need the vertibrae fusing. Be careful and dont expect them to stck to the road. I learned he hard way
Good advice there. I must admit looking back on my ride out did seem a little low to the ground and unforgiving of you had to get a big lean on.
I have 2017 forza 300 , bought it last summer in 2021 with less than a 1000 miles for $2700 and I love it , it so comfortable on trips
Surprised me how good it was on the highway for a 300cc. Good scoot for sure. 👍🍻
Yeap it could be a good choice. 👍🍻
Ocean is a great shop. I really like it there. I had a 650 burgman. Really good scoots they are although lumpy. Sh300 are awesome too👍
I think it's a fabulous bike I am one of those people that doesn't want to shift gears. I want to just turn the handle and go period and this bike has plenty of pep it has plenty of stop it's the bike for me. I'm hoping to get one come income tax time 2020 or something like that period it really does turn me on this bike. Thank you again for showing it to us
No problem, they are great bikes. I hope you get yours soon 👍🏍️🍻
Awesome. Enjoy👌😊
I'm from the US, great video! I love that you are a Honda fan! Cheers!!!!
Thanks, yeap I sure am! 😊👍🍻
Congrats Simon....2 questions? how do you find the Tmax? also what will be your next bike now you are A2 ?
@@exeterrider Mine is the 2017 version so not keyless but a great engine. As you mentioned though, crash suspension at speed if the road surface gets really rough. Not sure for the bike. I ride every day and need some practicality so probably something like a Versys 650, Tracer 700 or Honda 500x. But I could also get a 300 or 400cc scooter as my daily, and a smaller bike for weekend fun. Any thoughts?
@@simonthomas5367 Im not a big fan of the 500x to be honest. 650 verseys is a good choice or tracer.

@@exeterrider Not on any sour note but the space underneath the seats is definately big enough to take two open face helmets,. possibly two full face ones, as with many other scooters that sell well on the continent, especially Italy. However it wont take a flip top which I ride with . So if one wants a secure compartment for one then one needs a back box. ok.

Intresting about the 2 helmets Terry. I must admit it looked tight getting 2 in. Thanks for your comment. E. R👍
Out of intrest what one do you generally reach for when going out?
exeter rider I tend to alternate between the two as I commute around 15 miles a day.
It was my intention to trade in the NC to cover the cost but could not bring myself to it much to the wife’s disgust 😂
Anyway hip better now and as I said I really enjoy them both. Yes under the seat there is a plastic bracket right in the middle which looses you around two inches in height and makes it almost impossible to get two helmets in.
@@terrygander639 thanks for the reply👍😉
That’s interesting, I can fit 2 full face helmets in. Just remove the divider. Hmmm
Do the tucked in racing position behind the screen, and pretend you at the Isle of Man :)

Have you got a full licence or do you need to do a cbt (UK only)
There doesn't seem to be a place to mount a phone for maps/gps visibility or a camera on the console or handlebars as there is with the PCX150.
sdushdiu.
The padded trim in between the handle bars is removable for a phone mount.
Ha yes it's only built for 2. Thanks for watching it 😁

Guy your right, I made a booboo! I have just edited that part out and will take TH-cam a few hours to update it. I appreciate you saying- bit embarrassing to be honest but we all make them! Thanks E.R
The weird thing is I think it's on 125's which economical don't really need stop-start but they don't put it on 300, but hey ho
Honda Forza 125 150 250 300 350 is a very Gud 👍
Hi I enjoy your reviews, have you done one of the Honda SH300
Thanks
Sorry Matthew, I haven't but would like to try one. I think they may not be the best looking scooters but they are technically speaking one of the best. I'll see if I can get my hands on one 🍻👍
Good review. Which one would you choose between Forza and the Xmax 300?
Not ridden the xmax, but heard its good. They are equal to each other really. Pros and cons to both tbh👍🍻
@@exeterrider thanks for the reply. I am sure I am not the only one hesitating between this two. Stay safe.
@@andorszen and you mate, thanks for watching 🍻😊
Seems OK but I'm sold on 400Burger.
No substitute for cubic inches.
Tfs & ride safe 🤜🤛
And you buddy!
The icebear pmz300 is the same bike and is $2800.
Icebear? I've never heard of that brand?
Had an 18 plate fantastic sweet engine but very cramped leg room and awful rear suspension very crashy....hope the 350 is better
My gut feeling is you would be better looking into the burgman 400 perhaps?
exeter rider thx man! The local dealer actually has a 2018 BURGMAN 400 as well. Waiting for call back on X-MAX. Appreciate the insight!
Anytime, let me know how it lands out and good luck with your new back👍🍻
what would you say to ppl who think that scooters are dangerous because their engine is in the back, and therefore it's more difficult to swerve or avoid stuff like you would do on a regular motorcycle?
Na, I disagree, all bikes handled utterly differently mid or rear engined. It's how they go about it that counts and balencing figures.
How does this compare with the Burgman 650
Totally different, the 650 burnes is more of a tourer, but the for a 300 is a commuter👍🍻
is the 2020 model still have the battery buried out front ; that is NOT easily accessible ?
Yes but much better than first model
Love it 😍
Thanks, and it's great to have you on board🏍️🍻👍
Do you think some one with inside leg of 28” can ride it comfortably? Thx
Hi Ali, Yes I think it should be OK and it will be easier than many other bikes.
Yes easy I'm 32 inside leg and find it ok i ride with feet forward no problem
Was really liking the 750 especially in the denim blue color and as usual Honda decides not to ship it to the US. 300 is good too just wish they would stop the selective crap on where to ship it. Whoever is making poor decisions like that should be fired it’s very short sighted on their part. May wait there are rumors of a 350 or 300 adv coming my way. Another tragedy they won’t import the X ADV
I'm surprised you don't get the ADV. It's not big in the UK but massive in Europe. It is a strange selection process.
readiing the honda stats they say over 300 mile to a tank ? will it be ok two up up steep inclines ? occasionaly
300 ON A TANK.....!!! UMM I wouldn't have thought so- cut that in half I would say. Yeap pillion and inclines should be ok. E.R
As for the mirrors so glad they fold as getting it into my rear garden comes in handy... between this and burgman 400 and xmax 300
@@magpiemale not a easy one. For me The x max would be out, the Burgman is good.... Very good but becoming dated. I think Forza would take it for me, I must admit the burger is also a very good choice.
@@exeterrider picked up my forza 300 bought the new one rather than the used one seemingly honda don't do low APR on used bikes. I rode it from milton keynes to northampton - brackley for a new bike I got 70 something mpg but i guess this will improve with more miles...coming from a 1000cc bike took some getting used to but I reel my expectations back knowing why I bought it.. in the wind I feel the scooter gets side to side movement compared to the bigger bike I bought the dark blue colour too still getting used to it bit different ride style n corner technique
Thinking of getting rid of my 2022 yamaha tmax tech max 560. Just as I'm getting 130 miles to a tank
You will get better economy from a Honda for sure, but in most scooters this sizes you will find they all need filling around this mark.
@@exeterrider
Brilliant some people say there getting 200 miles?
On the honda forza 300.
Really good
Past my CBT April 19 looking at doing my A2 in August September time hopefully might just stay on automatic as I only do 5 miles each way I must say I love it and try and get out as much as possible looking at forza or Xmax300 any advice apart from trying each one love your vids by the way
Thanks for watching them Lee, the x max is quite heavy on fuel so watch out for that.
With me also starting out on scooters I would advise not discounting motorbikes too. Sometimes it's a nice change to be able to change gears etc, you would soon get used to it as I did and it is nice not having the "over run" you get from a scooter. Just a thought. Good luck with your test. I wish you all the luck with it👍🍺
Cheers Exeter's rider I'll let you know I might just try the manual I must admit I do look at manual and think ooh I like the look at that, will it be forza 300 xmas burgman 400 or KTM 390 Duke Honda CBR 300 or 500 R, when it happens I'll let you know🤞
Lots of storage ! oh how I could do with that on my pair of bikes ...
less front box at the steering than the 2017 model.
did you find it lacking in power at all? i've seen a few people say they thought it was under powered a little
Not in the slightest. The possiable issue there is that it is really smooth so you don't get the thrill of opening it up like you will on a cb300r, bmw 310r etc. It goes ok👍🍻🏍️
@@exeterrider I'm waiting for the forza 350,
How many miles to a full tank?
I wouldnt know now this was filmed years ago now. Sorry
Good, practical second bike, but not enough grunt or fun as an only motorcycle.
Ride safe.
exeter rider
No worries mate. Keep up the good work👍
@@snozzybosch7503 thanks, as long as people keep watching I'll keep making 🍻🍻
exeter rider
You make a good quality/thorough video about something your passionate about and that’s great. 👍😁
This motor until now didn't come in Philippines why?
Who knows. We miss out on alot of bikes in the UK aswell.
Very nice, em 300cc scooters!
Dear exeter rider can you mount a GPS bracket on this?
Hi , a handlebar mounted one to my knowledge yes but not in the screen area. Cheers
Top scooter !!
Probably one of the best scooters in it's class. Thanks for watching.
a more handsome machine than the xmax 300
Yeap, I think so too. Much slicker.
Fair enough mate 👍🍻
I must add that I liked the bike so much I have just purchased a 2013 one but the advantage is its got additions to the mirror stalks and now I can see tailgators where I couldn't see anything behind me at all with the latest model. It's no doubt a popular bike and sells well so I can imagine that for many a riders they don't have the same unfortunate problem that I had so its certainly won't be as dangerous as stated to them..Its certainly a bike to be considered and enjoyed.
I’m giving Honda motorcycles an excellent service rating!😅
😉👍
where to bolt on the phone holder ? Windsheld brackets would be great !
Yes I agree.
'practability'
hello, nice review. I only have 2 more questions. I also saw your review of the Vespa 300 hpe. And I doubt between these 2 scooters. The prices are almost the same. Which would you choose?
And is the Forza as easy to maneuver as the Vespa?
It wasn't me who done the vespa 🤔😂👍🍻
@@exeterrider Oh I thought because your coat looked like it. Didn't take the time to know for sure 😃
Lol, I'm better looking I expect 😂👍
@@exeterrider dat is zeker 😂.......By the way, I have already done a test drive on the Vespa. And that was excellent. I will soon also take a test drive on the Forza 👍
When you were buying your NC, did you consider the X-ADV 750, exeter?
Yes but had scooters before and wanted a motorcycle looking bike
@@exeterrider I am torn between the two for use in Thailand.
@@1990-t1j are the roads OK? The adv might be better on rougher stuff
1990
Hire one first and do a good run.
Great review, would only consider this as a second bike for local riding.
Would consider a larger scooter as only bike, ie Suzuki Bergman 650.
Thanks Andrew. I liked my burgy 650 but this one is surprising versatile. Thanks for watching
exeter rider yeah, I did sit on every biggish scooter at the NEC bike show and very much liked the Kymco big scooter. Surprisingly first glance quality build and finish.

I've got this wee scooter and it's excellent. However I'd really like Honda to release an updated Silverwing for 2021. I'd consider buying one.
Yes I think that would be good aswell. 650 perhaps. If they got it right it could still aswell as the burgman 650 world wide👍
Honda has announced that the forza family will be getting bigger with the release of an expected 750 so that could be up your street!

Fair review, but everytime you say er or erm on it you should send a pound to a decent charity (I counted over a hundred ers and erms!)
Yes I know. I'm still a rookie at this but I'm getting there. It's not easy. Thanks for watching the vid, errm 😉👍
