Thanks for the video! Very clear and specific. One question: When the video cut out, you skipped over how you taped over the sensor. What kind of tape did you use?
Glad the video helps. The same Adhesive Red Tape. Just to prevent the sensor touching the screen.

Was very helpful. Instead of using a heat gun or hair dryer, we put it on the dash of the car in the sun for a half hour to heat it up. Even broken, the old digitizer screen came off relatively easy.

What kind/Brand gloves are you wearing? They seem to do great with dexterity.

Great video thanks. Since changing the screen there seems to be a problem with my lcd screen. It turns on but it's very hard to see. Could I have done something wrong, it worked before. I used insulation tape to cover the sensor as you cut off at that point. Could it be that?
Did you remove the plastic protector from the inside side of the screen?
Maybe inside plastic protector is not remove ?

Question, what manufacture you would suggest to get after market screen for iPad mini 3? I also though about buying a water damage iPad mini 3 for $15 just for the screen but I don’t know if I can use a water damage iPad parts . What would you suggest?
That ipad mini 3 will completely not work because water has gotten inside the battery and inside the ipad. So it will not work completely. Dont buy it
How do you know if the LCD is ok? Is there any way to tell before you take it apart? I'm having a problem with the sensor like you said. My son dropped it for the final time tonight and now it's doing things on its own.

You can purchase by pre-cut and shaped adhesive strips made specifically for the iPad mini. You can find the same kind of specifically shaped adhesive strips for many different devices. If what your looking for isn't available for your device, then use the tape augbested in this video.

Those magnets are for ipad case auto sleep your lcd.

Yes. the top glass is called screen digitizer. You can replace them with black/white, does not matter. Just only for look. Hope this helps !

Battery is not easy to replace. I do not recommend to replace battery, it can easily catch fire.

No, after you put the new glass you can heat it again so the glue can stick again

Side ipad frame is bent ? Try to re-bent the frame before replacing new screen.

Yes you can. Just have to heat a little longer.
I needed a new lcd and screen digitizer. I tested them and they were both working (before putting on the battery plate), then when I put everything together, the lcd screen wouldn't turn on properly and it flickers and has a crack line on the left side of the screen. What did I do wrong? Thanks!
If they are working before putting the battery plate, make sure the battery plate screws are not too tight. I'm guessing something is pushing the LCD screen either from the digitizer (top) or battery plate (bottom). Hope this helps.

I tried turning it on before putting on the battery plate, but it's still not turning on properly and flickering with a line down the right hand side. I was so careful with it, I just don't understand how it could have broken.

Hi. Did you power off the iPad before start removing cracked screen ? If not, you can remove the battery connector and try again.
UberGeeks, I did. Unfortunately I think I damaged the LCD in the process. I plugged it into my computer and it recognized it, but I stupidly didn’t back it up first or turn off the passcode before I started, so now it’s useless. Thanks for the great tutorial though, you were very clear and helpful.

Put the power botton and the main botton..hold bove bottons like 10 to 20 seconds. It's going to work.the Ipad make a restart.
Beacause the same problem that you have, I had too. I make this answer to my cousin because he is a technician and its work.
Why did you remove the adhesive at the end, I thought the point was to use it as the glue?
I did not remove the adhesive tape.
It is a double sided adhesive tape. At the end, I peel off the adhesive wrapper, so that other side of the glue will tape the glass.

i got my screen fixed by a guy at a mall and a month later the screen started touching by its self and then the whole screen came off so i gotta repair now by my self
The ghost touching is due to sensor on the back of digitizer being touched. You can use tape to cover that up. Good luck
I did not turned the iPad off... Is this a big problem. This is because the screen did not work well i could not turn it off. When I try to test it did not work ...Anyone Some help for me?
If you can't turn off the iPad. You can disconnect the battery
Just don't do what I did and damage the little connector teeth when detaching the screen and led! Doh! Not so simple to replace :)
