    What a perfect situation, where a thumb throttle would make so much more sense!

    I sank. Fully loaded GS, with worn 705s. Bad choice of road. Fortunately had cell reception and a buddy with a 4x4 an hour away. Thanks for the advice Clinton!

    Problem is my arms get really tired so much that i cannot hold the handlebars no more. Does not seem to happen to anyone els. Why is this, as they say lean back on the handle bars

    Good tips. Now do it non stop for 300km straight then we talk about your throttle and wiggling again...also worthwhile mentioning is the clutch, especially on the older gs models, let go of it and do the rest ONLY with the throttle...don't start clutching like a schoolboy unless you enjoy changing it often. Cheers

      The secret to 300km's of it is to do it a lot, much like anything challenging in life

    are you slipping the clutch while blipping the throttle, i found it difficult to just using the throttle blips

    Hi guys, question about steering damper setup, in this type of road set up the steering damper harder/tighter its worse? or better?
    also what about the steering damper setup on gravel road with sand?

  • @biofractal78

    I have a question. On my commute, there is a road near the beach, and the wind pushes significant amount of sand on the road. I'm talking maybe 6-8" tall. This morning that almost took me down. I don't know if I show gun it and try to keep the front end light or slow down. I opted to slow down and keep a light grip on the handlebars. I ride a GSA with annakee wild tires. The bars turned left as I hit the sand patch. I had to put down my feet for stability. What is the right approach to this? Thanks I love your videos.

      I would not gun it personally. I would try to scrub off speed before entering that section, then gentle acceleration through the sand, standing for balance. The dodgy bit with your scenario is where it is patchy - sudden tarmac sections and then sand etc. Definitely do not gun it on that stuff...slow and steady does the trick...

    What tyre pressure are you using for front and rear on those knobby tyres?

    • @clintonsmout4563
      @clintonsmout4563 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      yuri sousa hello we reduce our tire pressures to 25 psi for off road riding

    • @TheDesertsweeper
      @TheDesertsweeper 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      For really soft sand you need to go a lot lower than 25psi - I have gone as low as 10 but its risky. I mostly go to 14psi in the desert

    Wouldn't riding on under inflated tire bend the valve stem? That's been my observation

    • @starstencahl8985
      @starstencahl8985 ปีที่แล้ว

      GS run tubeless tires, so the valve is only connected to the rim. Only issue might be the tire hopping off the bead or the rim spinning without the tire if you go too low
