I found a couple of Handover brush cases (with a Handover cloth label) that are also available with the Jackson's label, but a couple of £ more expensive. Identical brush cases! I think Handover "white labels" products for Jackson's. By the way, many renowned German brush makers (Da Vinci, KUM, Kolibri, all of the located near Nuremberg) make brushes (BTW always hand made!) for other brands, sometimes changing the configuration adapting to the brand's needs. I'd be interested to learn who makes them in 🇩🇪.
I saw a size 40 at Blick (different brand, Silver, but a 40 is a 40) and just had to buy it because of how comically large it was! It's great for base washes and if you want to paint huge.
Thanks for this very through review of a not-worth-it brush. I purchased a Handover long script quill in a small size (painting on handle has faded) meant for use for car detailing, etc., and its been fun to play with as a rigger, but its build quality has a lot to be desired as well. It’s a different fiber but just as disappointing. It’s ok, tho, because we have so many other great brushes to work with. 😊
Lmfao!! I was SO Shocked and confused when I saw that freaky ”pattern” I even started questioning if it exists some special kind of brush that I never heard off before and it took you so long before you mentioned it LMAO, you sounded so calm it made me doubt myself even more!! They invented a new brush, i think they should fall it a SPIRIT BRUSH - because it got SPIRIT! 😂 or ghost brush, sometimes it is there sometimes it goes *POOF* (disappears) 😂 Kinda funny
The Jackson’s Artica looks suspiciously like the Escoda Perla; I suspect that they are the same. The Artica has three crimps in the ferrule, which, to my knowledge, only Escoda does.
Thank you for this review and I will not buy this. I am a beginner watercolor painter which is a challenge in its self so I don’t need to make my adventure any harder LOL.
