@@Rangband1 yep! I can either do that or just buy a couple temp sensors and run a 4-wire thermostat cable over there and tie in both. I tried to actually split the signal for the other thermostat I have in the hall but it didn’t like that at all. Not designed to have it split.
We use quite a bit. I've looked into those gassifier units. Seems like they're 2-3 times the cost of a conventional boiler and they're extremely picky with the wood you use. Love the idea of them, just not sure if I can justify that cost.
Do you know if there is a spending threshold for getting the discount? I've spent ~$7000 with them and don't see any membership pricing even when logged in.
I don't believe there's any limit. As soon as you create an account it should show discounts like you saw in the video. I would suggest emailing or giving them a call. There might be something on your account that isn't configured properly. They should be able to fix it right away. Let me know how it goes!
@@simon359 sure, you could use the one on the shunt and the view the data in the app. I don’t think you would have as much control over it, but you should still be able to see the temp.
So why do you think you had to put in an offset for the temp sensor? I assume those are RTD's and they should be really accurate. That wood fired boiler is nice, I bet it saves a lot of money in the winter.
@@dirtroadsailing6418 I put an offset in to try and get the temp to be as close as possible to the actual boiler temp outside, not the temp of the water line in the house. The boiler does save a lot! I don’t have to buy propane for the furnace or use electricity for my water heater.
@@davidb.5544 Yes it still uses electricity to run the circulation pump and the solenoid when the damper door is open. When both the solenoid and pump are on, it uses around 120W. When just the circ pump is running, it's approx 90w.
Happy thanksgiving Adam. How much did that boiler cost you if you don't mind me asking.I was thinking about getting one of them since I have enough trees to make it worth while. Thanks MikeG
Thanks Mike! Same to you! I wana say I ended up spending between $4-5000 once everything was all said and done. Not too bad in the grand scheme of things. I bought mine from EZBoiler here in MI. They repurpose old propane tanks in order to keep the cost down. Since you have access to trees, I would highly recommend it. Our electric usage goes down significantly in the winter because the boiler handles the heat and hot water for us.
@@mikeg2321 I keep thinking that I should probably include my boiler in a few videos just because it does help remove reliance from the grid. I wish I had my channel up and running years ago when I installed the boiler!
@AdamDeLayDIY yes it's some good content if you want to give everyone the company you bought it from and how the install went and how much wood it uses on average. We all like to save money and most of us love freedom 😊👍

Go ahead and dig a hole to that furnace again lol. That's cool work for sure
@@rodneyhunt haha! Thanks!
I've kicked around the idea of a pellet boiler, should we ever add more living space to our property. Good to see ideas for a boiler.
Thank you :- )

You could easily extend that to where the hot water pipes come into the house.

How many cords you go through a year? May be worth looking into a gasifier eventually if you’re eating up alot of cords

Can I use one of those temperature sensors on my battery bank? I also have my battery bank connected to a Victron shunt.
I don’t have the GX

Why you have hot water pipes above the Victron inverters ?
They're not directly over the inverters. Sometimes you have limited space to work with when you put the inverters in your home.
