I've just been given an essay assignment so won't have as much time to edit as I usually do, though I am hoping to be able to make some Jingle Jam videos!
6:19 I must profoundly apologise for my use of JingleCatGPT in my submission. It was entirely unprofessional to sully this respected artform in such a manner and as a journalist I should have known better. I can only hope to be forgiven as I learn from this experience going forward. - Morgan Penis-Boné *no cats were generated in the making of this video
Haven’t watched jingle cats in 2 years and I totally forgot how insane and funny they are! This was amazing thanks for posting it, i started watching the yogscast 10+ years ago with wow and Minecraft videos but now that im out of college i unfortunately have such little time 😢
😁 Glad they got to see mine....felt like I hit Lewis hard with the "doing it for the kids" 😂😅 and EVERYONE told me to make them kiss at the end and I chose not to.....maybe next year ...
Ok ped and boba's was very accurate to things i imagine them doing but there was a bit more cat ass than I expected. I could've imagined a bit but on twitch I didn't think she'd have that much 😂
@@RedSntDK thank god, I always kinda wrongly assumed he was a raging alchoholic behind the scenes. Seen many people slowly go that colour over the years.
It's a shame they don't reserve as much time as it takes to go through 'em all. But the 7 minute long jingle cats video that Overlite did could've been used for like 5 shorter ones. PS: Love Overlite
I don't know why the subreddit was so full of hate for AI, it's a tool just like any other software that people use to make Jingle Cats. Using an AI voice generator to sound like Tom doing the mystery quest intro was a good use of it for example
IMO it’s simple. A. AI scrapes data from other people’s work to generate its own. Very very few if any datasets used in AI have been ethically collected. Did Tom consent to them scraping his voice from things to make that intro? What if someone uses that replicated voice to say shit he doesn’t agree with? B. The whole point of Jingle Cats is putting some earnest effort into something that’s a bit shit. People put a lot of time and effort in and using AI to generate a thing instead of having a punt yourself makes people feel cheated. C. It’s awful for the environment. AI uses so much energy and the spike in its use means governments are making more investments into quick ‘cheap’ energy solutions, aka fossil fuels. It’s a lil hypocritical to be running a charity stream with 2 climate change charities, and then put a positive spotlight on something that’s actively contributing to the very thing they’re trying to avoid.
I think a lot of people have no issues with it being used somewhat as a tool, such as your example. But for a lot of people who worked hard to make a video and then didn't get featured, only to see AI content featured? I'd be quite upset.
@@jakebaugh3130it's a touchy subject as you could argue it's no different from people who use copyrighted music in these videos as well they are also stealing art and changing it slightly the only difference is one is done by AI and the other is a person. They are both wrong but it's what you are ok with I guess.
@@jakebaugh3130 A: In that case, I think the appropriate response would be to air your grievances at the companies that make the AI. Your example with Tom isn't that convincing as we're talking about it in the context of Jingle Cats. It's not like they make any money or anything; one of them used lyrics that Simon wrote, is that also something to be concerned about? B: This is a good point, however you're basically angry at Daf for not vetting them properly (as I don't think all submissions that use AI should be banned if they're done well) and Daf works hard enough going through them all already. C: I didn't think about this and agree 100%, although I do wonder how much energy was used by some people doing 3D rendering for days straight
@@IrishIHadAPotato I agree, but there should be no expectation of being featured. There have been plenty of other years where a low-effort submission gets featured that doesn't use AI. I just think that people are lashing out at AI specifically

Good luck bestie
This better be a yogscast related essay!
Kidding, good luck on your essay! Priorities!
Same, trying to catch as much jingle jam as possible in the breaks!
Super appreciate compilations like these. Thank you!
I'll do your essay mate, keep the important work 😅

Says the man who plays with ESDF because his W key broke.

The Boba one was soo funny XD (for those who know... which is everyone :)
"not all christmasses are merry"
did not expect high art for this jingle jam, mawma xD
Thanks for featuring pretty much the whole of my submission
I do love the idea that some rogue yogs member secretly watched a bunch of risqué TH-cam videos on the stream computer.

25:39 Is that the Nine Locks? I live there! Don't recall seeing anybody dancing in Christmas hats...
Sean's vid got to the actual music portion and Lewis was just so done with us. 😆

He's ironically allergic to cats and forgot to take his antihistamines

Daf needs to stop putting hannah boingus so low on the list tho, her videos always rock

Those cats raised $509K for charity
