This will go down as his magnum opus. Give it a few years. To come out with something like this when you are under the microscope all the fucking time. This is him coming on terms with his mother's death that has had him off the hook since her death. The meaning and his healing through god and representation of his struggle to come on terms with it all is sublime. A fantastic masterpiece that will be appreciated more later in time just like all the best albums in history have been.
I hate super long albums but I was pretty impressed with how good it actually turned out. There are some great moments but there are also a hand full of songs that aren’t necessarily bad but just didn’t quite need to be there. If he narrowed it down to the best 12-15 songs max, it would have been even better. Overall, it’s a really good project.
I'd rather he just cut out some of the empty space and keep all the songs except for tell the vision

Ye took the best aspects of gospel and threw it together with the best aspects of rap, and it worked so beautifully. whether you like it or not this is a one of a kind album, nothing sounds like DONDA
That's cap there so many songs that sound like other shit most of this album is filled with mumble rap and auto tune
This is huge cap, the album wasnt bad, but it was clearly unfinished, a lot of instrumentals let a lot to be desired and a lot of songs are carried by features like jay z and the weeknd.
@@catsouplover7745 It needed to be cut down a bit. 27 songs? DAMN. They could've put the 'part 2' tracks in a extended or deluxe version of the album. Closer to 10 or so songs, maybe some extras after - where MV's connect with some of the tracks.

I think it’s crazy that people don’t realise that the Weeknd is referencing his actual father holding on to him and not letting him drown when he was travelling from Ethiopia because Abel and his family were immigrants I think that’s crazy considering he never really talks about that time also the Dawn reference is 🔥I love the song

Knox Hill is by far the best. I've even seen some smaller youtubers that are legit. Ernest is only good for one type of music.

For one he is definitely very knowledgeable when it comes to music he is a musician himself. And the most important if he doesn't like something he is very respectful and moves on so yeah his breakdowns are majority positive. Most people don't want hear anyone trashing their favorite song or artist by anyone. Ernest hasn't figured that one out.

Love your vid homie! Dope insight! You're absolutely right about needing to take this in to appreciate more. In my humble opinion, easier to enjoy as an older adult. I'm 40 and I fuck with Donda heavy for the themes, content which I can listen to with my toddlers, and overall artistic value. I also appreciate party albums..but this is for some old heads trying to appreciate life.

Also in Pure Souls the 1 dollar to everyone and God's Plan which Ernest paused just before, that was also a go at Drake.
