The University of Calcutta, also known as Calcutta University was established in 1857 and is one of the first multidisciplinary and Western-style foundations in Asia. Calcutta University is a public state University that is accredited with a Grade ‘A’ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The University of Kolkata, through various departments, offers over 150 courses at both UG and PG levels in the fields of Arts, Commerce, Science, Management, Technology, and many more. Kolkata University also offers PhD, certificate, and diploma courses.
Other than this, CU University offers Merit-based, Need-Based, and other scholarships to eligible students. CU Kolkata has a state-of-the-art infrastructure with multiple facilities. The University of Calcutta has collaborated with various companies and organisations. Calcutta University is spread across approximately 2.7 acre of land. The University of Kolkata offers BTech and BSc as flagship courses.
