I sacrifice atk for soft capped def pen and damage increase. Even with high atk i strugled to clear baran hard, what helped me clear was a lucky roll on legendary break blessing stone and only 31k atk. 10k power above baran.
element does actually matter on the core to activate the effect. for your top core you want the one for sung that has +5% attack on it. then attack% as the main state like you said.
@AaronPritchard-tg4zz in baran fight noonshadow+ulty+magn is a difference of clearing or not. I run it countless times with all possible builds and that extra atk is useless. I dropped my atk by 3k and maxed Crit dmg, dmg incr and def pen to actually clear at 31k atk.
@drazeal9507 I cleared baran hard mode with none of that. I used both wind ssr weapons. Double break, double hunters with break and min. First clear had 1 second left with 6x blessing. Now I clear same way but zero blessing and plenty of time left
I have 220k of power with My sung jin woo... Good curse artifacts and 30791 of attack stat and the other stats such as crit damage, crit % , defense penetration and damage increase already reach the cap that the "testers" said we only need... I dont have the skills at level Legendary for now and My Main weapons i have it with 5 stars only i need the other 5... And i don't have the Legendary cores only the purple ones SOOOOO I suppose... Once i get those things i Will get that 280k of power.... My sung jin woo don't need anything else with the artifacts i don't think he can get more power there.

You also need some luck with the blessings to defeat certain bosses.

Nah. 20% Crit damage on magnifying slash > 5% atk by far.
