Bivol did what he was supposed to beating the smaller fighter moving up but he hasn't even unified his only division despite being the same age as Canelo. If he beats Beterbiev and unifies in multiple more divisions then he can compare his resume to Canelo's but I doubt he'd ever take those risks.

you don't know what you are talking about. Bivol is high level in his method, but Beterbiev adapts, finds angles, resets his feet immediately and does things that Bivol does not do. Beterbiev is suffocating, like Golovkin but with more skill and variety.

And Beterbiev has more variety, he also is elusive while he is attacking as he closes your optimum range and side steps straight attacks and as soon as he is off balance he resets immediately. Bivol is quite formulaic and Beterbiev will likely discover his pattern quickly and go to work on it. Bivol has a chance but Beterbiev has the better chance.

This man basically called Canelo his stepping stone. He's right. Beterbiev is a bigger fish to fry and an actual chance to win something. Canelo is nothing in Bivol's eyes unless he puts that 168 title on the line with him. This man is above the "payday." Massive respect to Bivol.
Above the payday? Get real. For a long time, Bivol said the money being offered to fight Beterbiev just wasn't enough. And then the Saudis stepped in. There are no professionals who are above the payday. They all turned pro to make money.

Artur is a bit frustrated, he's been pushing for this fight but Bivol's team felt the time wasn't right. Perhaps they were waiting for Artur to age and slow down a bit. Regardless I still think Artur will be too much for Bivol.

Bivol has class, WOrld class but Beterbiev has more to his game than Bivol does...but most are too uneducated to see all the offensive and defensive fine skills and tactics that Beterbiev adopts in the ring. Age could be only hindering factor though.
People underestimate Beterbiev's skills. They think he's only a bully with power but they don't see the traps he sets for his opponents. There's no way Bivol is not getting tagged in this fight, then we'll see what his chin can take. I think Beterbiev targets the body for the first 6 rounds then goes upstairs to finish it in round 10. If Bivol can win this on points then I raise my hat off to him, he will have deserved it !!
Indeed Beterbiev has layers and dimensions to his game that Bivol doesn't have, despite Bivol certainly being world class, systematic, fluid with great distance control and rhythm and tempo... But Beterbiev adapts, suffocates, finds angles and is working on many things at once... Most people don't understand what they are watching. Beterbiev is efficient, varied and tactical.

The thing that makes Bivol extremely dangerous is his stoicism & calmness. That Dagestani guy will most likely lose his patience even though he exhibits calmness & stoicism compared to other fighters. Bivol is literally a shaolin monk level calm, focus & disciplined. Breaking him would need extreme patience & skill.

Beterbiev looks every bit as good as he always had. In fact, he seems to keep getting better technically. Having said that, Bivol would have beaten him if they fought at any point between 2018 and now.

I really like both Bivol and Beterbiev, if either was fighting anyone else I would certainly be cheering for them. In this matchup however i’ll be sitting on the fence, I do think however Bivol has got the better boxing skills and maybe an edge on the fight. Beterbiev can end the fight with one punch, it’ll be an interesting match.

I can't blame Bivol for disregarding Canelo. He's already beat him convincingly and at this point Canelo is a distant third, at least. Bivol/Beterbiev fight will be a strange match of styles although should be a much better fight than Bivol/Canelo. Beterbiev like Canelo is also a inside fighter although IMO protects himself better. At 3:03 min., interviewer says, "I'm sure you don't want to give too much away ..." Give what away??!! I love Bivol but cannot see him beating Beterbiev. Beterbiev has exquisite timing, that is, when he twists on the punch and the placement of the punches. How can he (Bivol) exchange with a guy who has just as good timing? I cannot see Bivol winning unless Artur suffers an injury. Bivol won't be able to slip 70 percent of the punches which is the only way he can win. Both have superior timing.
they both have good timing and good accuracy, Bivol is fluid and systematic...but Beterbiev has more layers and dimensions to what he does in the ring, he is doing many things to suffocate you and offset you, and he adapts with variety, he finds the angles and has good footwork and puts himself at optimal distance on the advance. They are each other's best test by far, but Beterbiev isn't just heavy handed and he has many ways to win, if his age is not too much now.

Bivol looks stressed
Bivol should forget about Canelo and concentrate on Artur Beterbiev. There might even be a rematch. It's actually a waste of time right now even entertaining that fight. After the rematch with Artur. Bivol should think about going up to cruiserweight once he wins the undisputed title at light heavyweight. He has said he'd go down to super middleweight for the rematch with Canelo. I think that would make far more sense provided he can comfortably make the weight. That fight would have more of a history making feel to it than fighting again at light heavyweight. That fight at super middleweight would definitely smash ppv sales I think. Dimitri looks like he has the body frame to very easily be able to come down to that weight as he is at a good age where he can do it. Then he could go up to the cruiserweight division and bypass the light heavyweight division that he has already fought in. This going up and down in the weight divisions I don't really like though to be honest. I prefer if one is going to go up then go up but then stay in that division that they feel comfortable in or if they go down don't go back up again. A classic case was Roy Jones when he was fighting at light middle weight went up to middle, supermiddle, light heavyweight then heavyweight. The mistake he made was going back down to light heavyweight even though he won back the light heavyweight title. The switch to comeback down in weight ruined him and he was not the same after that. He should have stayed at heavyweight and fought the likes of Lennox lewis, who was around at the time and Mike Tyson and got 2 potentially really good paydays and then retire.
