great video! here in Brazil we use sugar cane based ethanol. Besides have other alternative sources like sweet potatoes. I`m working in a plant project that uses this feedstock, it`s a promissing plant!

Ethanol makes up 10% of 98% of all gasoline in the United States. Ethanol is 80% corn and corn costs rn (july 2021) $5.75 per bushel which is 56 pounds of corn. it takes 26.1 pounds of corn to make one gallon of ethonal. Side note One acre of land can yield 7110 pounds of corn or 328 gallons of ethonal which cost about 140 gallons on average to operate (this is all on a per year basis). 10% ethanol blends also use 3-4% more gas per mile as opposed to solely gas and produce similarly high levels of air pollution. So If gas is 10% ethanol then it takes .1 gallons of ethanol to make one gallon of modern gasoline. So going back to the earlier number (56-26.1)/56= .598 x $5.75= $3.4385 aka the cost of corn per gallon of ethanol (this is without additional transportation, logistics, and other variable costs). So $3.485 x .1 = $.3485 so fucking corn alone accounts for atleast a 34 cent hike is the price of gas and there’s still 20% of ethanol that’s not corn idk what the fuck it is some vegetable or moss shit fuck whatever it is it cost more money. So basically my point is we put fucking corn in gas for little to no environmental benefit but at great cost. Bottom line is gas is expensive because we put corn in it? Maybe

Making ethanol is a great alternative to get a more sustainable and environmentally friendly practice going. Corn unfortunately requires a lot of pesticides and herbicides, unlike hemp.

It's just a bit hilarious. Understand that not everyone can act, it's a tough skill. Focus on the content - I did learn something from this.
