I’ve been collecting rickenbacker basses for a years and this band caught my attention cause of the DOOM BROOM. It cursed my eyes so much that I bowed to its bastardized glory… and now I want a doom broom rick.
I am very new to the band, found em through KEXP and I think I like them with Alan a bit more as well. But overall I don't think you feel his abscence in a bad way and I really, really dig this album as an entry point for me and my friends so far. I have gone through most of their stuff and the journey just keeps on giving. But I always come back to the ATW album sooner than later. Best thing I have heard from them was Death of Coyote Woman from the other live session. That just might be the best song I have heard in many years.
bro when he counts to 20 ???? coolest thing that's ever happened to me in my entire life
I wish he would have counted all the way to 86 😢
My5 yr old daughter and I lose our minds singing this part out in the truck
When the bartender asks how many shots you want, repeat those lyrics

Love these guys, but dang can you feel Alan's absence.
Yeah he added an atmosphere to their music that kinda isn't here so much. Still sounds cool but this album was a stepdown from their last one for me.
