There is something about survival games in general that made you feel relaxed while playing it, i've done this kind of thing in The Forest as well by building large base right on the coastline, i'll just sit on the bench whiile listening to sounds of the wind and waves

If you are looking for the most epic wood base ever in zomboid, there is a ranger base fenced off on every side in the middle of the woods. It is right next to riverside on the top left side of the map ;)
its a great start spot especially if you spawn at the trailers though once you get a car its a pain in the ass to get to instead of walking direct through the woods

The base is inherently, visually a bit of a "mess" I mean it's a bunch of wooden planks damaged cars and some buses that (given the atmosphere and feeling of the base and just PZ in general) appear entirely busted up being recycled from being dysfunctional are unused transportation methods to now serving as essentially stationary shipping container homes. The grass has become overgrown, the only roofed structure is simply to protect the owner's seemingly prized vehicle being worked on. I dunno man something about seeing little bits and bobbles scattered across a living space as if it was a house broken into, lived in and then left alone very messy-like BUT knowing in the back of my mind that it's all actually on PURPOSE. That right there makes my brain go brrrrt in a very happy way. Summary: 10/10 I now want to start a whole new PZ run for this

Hey not sure if you weren't aware, but you should probably use some gravel bags on those grassy roads. It allows you to travel easier in a vehicle while traveling on gravel than on simple grass or dirt.

I am curious though in what difficulty you have for the game ? I know there is the hardcore thing going on but I just want to know what is the best way to start to just get familiar of it, and building up your survivor and base.
FPS check bro. I have this problem, I didn't install much of mods yet I'm having less than 20fps at base. I don't know how to fix it anymore, been trying a lot of things yet nothing worked at all. I'm using a gaming laptop with i7 11th gen, RTX 3060 and 16gb ram.
Rain wash, exercise V2, reading is not boring, ultimate backpack, they know, propane torch fix, vehicle parts repair, immersive solar arrays, bushcraft gear, mod options, material weight reduction, Craft helper, rv interior, water dispenser, minimal display bars, book learning, sleep on it, weapon condition indicator and some extra cars witch i like... That's the mod i use

Non of difficult setup are easy when You got bad luck... Start with bulider lvl, when its too easy go higher ... Step by step, no rush
