Threw an intercooler on my n54 yesterday. Tuned it to stage 2+ cuz its not full bolt on. Now it slips on full throttle consistently. Needs upgraded clutch and flywheel. Getting tired of this shitbox man. Might burn it and get an n52.
As far as your serious opinion about the N52, I am with you. I too have the rare and highly prized one year only E90 325i. I also have a 2008 335i E92. I'm gonna keep the 335 for a couple more years, but I'm switching my insurance to the 325i this month. It does feel quicker to move the nose around, and the lightness BMW added really makes it handle very sweetly. My 335 has the cool M3 comp 19s and BCs and all that camber plate jazz, but the extra weight is undeniable. How much does that stupid arm that's supposed to bring the seatbelt to my shoulder but doesn't weigh? I wouldn't want it even if it worked. Reminds me of the "automatic" seatbelts in my old 89 RX7 that I unplugged the juice from and just put the two belts on myself-race car style. Here's the meat to my sandwich of words though-I have a 1990 E30 325i, and I think it would be pretty sweet with that N52 and 6spd in it. You know anyone who has done that? Besides that guy in Colorado who posts his track days and says nothing about how he did his car, I mean. Also-where you get your N52 tune? I'd like it I think. Anyhoo, N52 forever, N54 for 2-3 more years, and let's hope that tap water I put in the M20 before I parked it 15 years ago hasn't hurt anything, ya know? Good shit dude. Bye.
It is just headers and muffler delete, the rest is stock. Then it's on solid motor and transmission mounts which contribute largely to the interior sound
My 06 Z4 with the N52 decided to yeet itself and the Disa valve broke and got sucked into the intake runner and threw one of the valve springs off. Overall it was a decent engine, has a few issues. Getting a LS3 swap for her though.
Not a bmw engine..but anybody who’s never seen a inline v6 has clearly never seen a vr6 6 cylinders in a V, but 1 cylinder head…. If that’s not an in-line v6 I don’t know what else it could be…
