- Striking coal miners were arrested for shutting down the Warrior Met Coal mine this week. A group of 300 miners and United Mine Workers of America President Cecil Roberts blocked the mine to stop scabs from getting in and out. Kim Kelly was there to cover it.

These rallies are fake as hell, every one of them. The climax moment is the ceremonial arrest that takes place - all of it is part of the soundstage script to create the illusion that the rights and interests of the workers are first and foremost, and that Cecil will “die” for them all if needed… which is what the arrests serve as a metaphor of
The fact of the matter is that these rallies are geared towards one interest - that the people within the UMWA at the top remain there, and that no one votes them out of their positions
Take a close look. You will see Bren voluntarily being cuffed and spending the night in jail. He'll, I never got that kind of treatment going to jail. Go figure
Watching these UMWA rallies is both my comedy show, but also a dose of second and third hand cringe… which has a comedy element to it as well 😂

This here is a union president that meant serious business when his Mongolian government went behind everyone’s backs selling all their coal to China; thus, putting nearly every miner in Mongolia out of a job
There was no staging this stunt showing him take one for the team for real, and not the theatric ceremonial arrests…
