  • In this video, we delve into the debate surrounding the ideal engine size for scooters, focusing particularly on the 150cc range. As someone who has owned multiple scooters, I share my experiences and insights into why the 150cc engine size might just be the perfect balance between power, maneuverability, and fuel efficiency. Join me as we explore how Honda's mini bikes exemplify this sweet spot, offering enough pep to handle highway speeds while remaining compact and efficient, achieving an impressive 90 mpg. If you're considering a scooter purchase, this discussion is a must-watch to help you make an informed decision!

I've been stepping down a notch repeatedly and now have 2 Vespa 150cc. Curb hop daily. The new one gets about 91 avg mpg and the old one gets 99 avg mpg.
I never thought I'd ride a 150 and now don't want to be without one. And I ride mine almost daily....Maybe one day a month I'll miss. Scooter life is great!!!!

i didn't realize they got such good mpg because they were heavier. I rode a vespa 150 for a bit and it was very high quality. But its expected with the price.

I found your channel through a compilation where you saved that bird, and I was instantly intrigued when I suddenly heard you speak portuguese! Sou meia portuguesa, por isso adoro ouvir a nossa língua fora de Portugal 🔥 Don't mind if I misspelled anything. I can understand and speak more then write 😂

I own a '22 ADV 150. Max speed is about 67 mph. Mileage varies, but riding back rural roads delivers over 100 mpg. More highway miles drops to over 90 mpg. I agree that cross winds have a noticeable effect on the "bike", but certainly that oversized, insulated delivery box exacerbates the effects of wind. I find your business model interesting. I'll have to explore your videos to see if you elaborate on that, as I'm new you your channel. Thanks!

I call rare scooters orphan scooters. I have a Kymco Grand Vista/Dink 250. It was only $500.
Not that comfortable either but it did have a busted left damper I couldn't see until the seat bucket was out for a carb problem. Got decent poke though. It is a bit of a pig being bigger.
I'd love an ADV 160 or maybe an XR150L as our streets are an absolute disgrace.
One thing I hate about these mini/maxi scooters is no tray in front of your knees.
With my old Buddys I always stuffed those full of water bottles for the summer.
Chick Fil A blows chunks with their wait times and low pay outs. I'm only going to do DD there going forward and that's only because of the AR horse manure.
My next bike will def. be EFi. So damn tired of carbs. ABS would be perfect too.
I just noticed you're in the DC region - Metro Transit Shuttle - I didn't recognize your suburb though.
Ah. The Socialist Republic of Takoma Park. I'm rarely there. Right at the end you got d'town.

It's a shame you don't have the SH150i. 16 inch wheels is better than smaller wheels.
I also have a primavera with 11 inch wheels.
Being in the UK, I have the 125 version. I also do deliveries, my 2021 is at around 56700 miles.
I don't think I would choose the pcx, if that was my only choice of Honda, I would have the Nmax.
My SHi does around 125 mpg. UK gallon.
I tend to get 200 miles out of a tank.
I do JE, deliveroo and Uber eats.
Not so much uber as their pay is very low.

What are your thoughts on the Yamaha SMax 155? I just bought one with 9400 kms (I'm in Canada) I like the bike, but it is a bit heavy for me (I'm 75 and have had 4 other bikes in my life). The otherr issue is I am 5'61/2'and can just reach the ground with my toes...seat is very comfortable, tires are 1" smaller than the Honda. Would appreciate your thoughts. I subscribed. Cheers from Victoria, BC

Totally agree about the 150cc being the perfect size bike…and the PCX being the best scooter out there.

i wan to change my bike for a big scooter. im watching silver wing 600, burgman 650, and gilera gp 800 🤔 the gp is the most i like, but i fear for isues. the burgman i like the posibility of use manual change look good 👍 but i fear for prblem too. the silver wing is the last option but look like have no problem for used bike, look like the most sicure mecanich ☺️ sorry my english ☺️🤙 what do you thing ✌️🤙

    • @Scootphoria
      @Scootphoria 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

B650 is great but after you get it, you will only use the manual gear change when you first get it. You will realize you don't want or need it.
Silver Wing will go 17,000 U.S. miles between belt changes which is awesome. Both will get between 50-60 U.S. mpg. Both will travel well on highway speeds.
The Silver Wing is easier to work on. The B650 has the belt as no service. It breaks and you are stuck unless you want to disassemble the whole bike to replace it..

I liked my silverwing. Now as you know i have the tmax. The tmax is more fun and more upright seating position. The silverwing seating position was too lougelike for me, and i prefered a more neutral sitting position. You should look at the middle weights such as the yamaha xmax and honda forza. They might be capable of what you want.
