The greatest tribute to dance music that I know of, hands down! Thank you Pete Tong, Heritage orchestra, the singers and the crowd. The emotional energy you all generated that night, must have been of impressive magnitude. I saw a genuine expression of the human experience, a celebration, and it brought me tears of joy. Well done
This is quite simply one of the best Proms ever, no argument. It also shows that no one does it better than the BBC. And finally it proves why Britain is so great. One of the best two or three nights of my life. I am so, so lucky.
This shared Joy: 1. Joy of listeners from the brilliant work of the orchestra 2. Joy of the orchestra with good fun that they give to listeners 3. Joy of TH-cam viewers from the satisfaction of the orchestra, the audience and the opportunity to listen to brilliant songs
There is something so magical about orchestral music 🙌 Faithless - Insomnia is once of the greatest tracks of all time.....to hear it orchestrally is just on another level 🎵
This is a perfect example of what music exactly is. Don't talk about genre, whether it is progressive/electro/hard/vocal/doom/house/trance/rock/classical...just listen to it as it is - an art. An art which rises emotions. An art which could be played and interpreted in a dozens of ways.
No genre's @ all, If a tune hits your heart, doesn't matter if it's House, Techno, Disco, Breaks or Progressive House or Pop music. Soulwax/2 Many DJ,s do what they are into, all of the above & more. & It works well. Just Enjoy your music. No more silly name,s/ge
Brilliance!!! Like to mention INSOMNIA, as a Faithless lover, took me to another level.. incredibly orchestrated and magically performed.. what a trance!!?!! - Well done all for the immense effort gone into this master show.
This show should be touring thru out the whole world, in every country where house music has known for its hype, in the last 30 years. What a energetic euphoric madness, unbelievable, so good.
Mark, the Heritage Orchestra do your this show on a regular basis. I know it was in Manchester a couple of years ago. You just have to keep Searching for Your Dates unfortunately.
It tours the UK every year, ending at the O2 in London. Have been for the last 2 years & will go again. Playlist is always changing and Jules is always adding new arrangements. Normally, they also do a summer outdoor mini tour to racecourses around the UK though this is woven around Pete Tong's commitments on Ibiza. (last year it was at Blue Marlin...)
Absolutely! In every essence I agree! Music and art like this is life changing. It stays and shapes us for ever. We need this!! Please make it happen!!
Cafe Del Mar is the pinnacle of this amazing show. This Took me back through the last 20 years of my life the music I cherish as a soundtrack to emotional roller coaster of memories some good some bad but if I could do it all again I wouldn't change a thing
I can scarcely imagine the rush that must be going through the orchestra when playing this. I imagine as a classical musician, you don't really anticipate crowds going wild during one of your performances; and seeing such a positive energetic crowd having a wonderful time to music hard to find anywhere else in the world; must be a rush like no other. You can see the orchestra and the crowd having a great time. 😁
I have never seen anything else this beautiful, glorious and powerful ❤️ i feel this at the bottom of my heart ❤️🌹 i can feel it i can feel it oooohhhhh 🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵
I was actually in the audience back in 2015 and the concert felt like I was back clubbing. The concert was mind blowing and never realised how iconic this concert would become.
Yep, I was there too. First moment I heard that this was going to happen I knew I had to be there. Wonderful experience. Remember feeling like we we'd all come together for a brief, sweet spiritual reunion.
I don’t think anyone did…especially seeing Pete Tong so nervous at the beginning. It was unique-I’ve never heard of a Prom broadcast so widely across the BBC live before. I’ve been to the O2 gigs without fail every year since 2018 & just love the magic Pete, Jules & HerO add to some banging tunes! I can’t get enough of it!!
Soooooo Good! Made me cry! Ahh good times, good memories, wish wish wish I had known about this, lucky people who were there. So much talent in one stunning room XX
An incredible mixture of disco music and classical orchestra! Pete and Jules are just magicians, they turned out to be an awesome show!!! Невероятное смешение дискотечной музыки и классического оркестра! Пит и Джулс просто волшебники, у них получилось просто афигенное шоу!!!
I'm in the the US. In Florida and let's be clear. The UK License fee would be worth every penny just for this marvel. I hope BBC proms do another one of these this year. Best live tracks ever. Well done!
Wow, nice surprise to find this here, little did I suspect, how emotional I'd become hearing the music - Radio 1 you've hit a cord within me, which I must say back to you, thank you.
This is incredible! How could i miss this! Well done to all involved - Pete Tong, Jules Buckley, The Heritage Orchestra, Ella Eyre, John Newman and the AMAZING the back up singers! BRAVO!!!!!!!!
Congratulations to everyone who made this amazing concert , is one the best ideas I've seen in a while , every song played by the full orchestra and sung by vocalist along with Pete Tong is my hair stands on end , and hopefully it the beginning of many more concerts with bands playing electronic music , love music , live music :)
I've had this Pete Tong Classic House CD for years and is a great driving record. Only found this video a couple of days' ago though, and seeing the utter joy from the audience and the orchestra is just fabulous.
I wonder if each and every one of those musicians understand and appreciate that every single day there is someone such as me that is absolutely astounded and taken back a couple of decades just by watching a video on TH-cam. It is mind blowing. Thankyou very much.
i am literaly bawling my eyes out ....... the tears are just flowing ..... how can something be so beautiful? how did I miss this? *willneverforgiveself*
This is just the finest performance and I watch it whenever I need to feel lifted and energised. Such a talented bunch. I loved hearing this live when Pete Tong and Jules Buckley went on tour! Such a fantastic night
this recording is iconic. come back to this time and time again ,,,, for SO many reasons. loveheartlove. pete tong and jules buckley you guys are the shit! ( i play this in my record store all the time!)
Absolutely brilliant concert. Awesome, magnificent, epic, wonderful, mind-blowing, unique... running out of superlatives here. Shame kids couldn't have been there. And it was all uniquely British. Good old BBC. When 'Nightmare' came into the mix, a tingle ran down my spine and the hairs on the back of my neck stood up. 'Cafe del Mar' was up next. Most fav EDM track and one just made for orchestral rendition. The bass introducing it, the synth swirling afterwards, and then the strings of a brilliant 60-piece orchestra come in pianissimo first and then soar as bows are played faster and their brilliant sound rises towards crescendo and the lasers fan the auditorium and the moving lights scan the audience and everybody's dancing and you just feel good about the world. :-) :-) :-)
Its all fantastic, but I love It when that lovely blond lady with the short Hair playing the violin smiles when the crowd cheers she look like's she really appreciates the crowd. :)
While in hospital critically last year in H. D . Unit l listened to Adele Hello every night helped me to pull through now listen to pete tong and Heritage Orchestra thanks to you both.
I'm a 45 year old guy and remember every song and the emotion generated by mixing classic original dance records with classical music is unbelievable. It brings tears....Hope Radio 1 do it again in 2020!!
Ive been listening to this album on Spotify for a while.... Hour drive to work in the morning listening to this full volume puts a massive smile on my face... I've always thought "you tube must have a video of just one of the tracks" so I searched and found the whole album... In my head listening to the music I've always thought how awesome, amazing it would be to watch these talented musicians perform. I've not been let down... Somehow I get so emotional.....this is not me !!!! I show no emotion....!!!... BBC please please give us another show... Fleking awesome
Before everything was (obviously) shut down for the pandemic this whole group became a yearly touring company with shows around December and January; there’s full recordings of a couple of their performances up on TH-cam, if you haven’t found those yet. imo they’ve really stepped up their game since the (already-impressive) Ibiza Prom.
the blend of old and newer in such a classic setting is bliss. I couldn't of imagined something like this happening 20 years ago. Headphones on full rattling what's left of my brain.
Very rarely does a whole set of music send shivers down your spine, but this is incredible! Props to Radio 1 for this, cannot wait for the one in December!
Cafe del Mar for me is The iconic and classic Ibiza tune and the performance of that here is magical, the rousing of the crowd as the music is building and building makes it feel so magical

Goosebumps - I’m nearly 41 going on 19. I’m transported back to Ibiza in 99. No care in the world, loving life and not a care in the world. After that time, addiction took hold, should be not here anymore..... but I fought back. I’m still adoring life, my family, the music and most importantly of all.... me
The woman with blonde hair playing the violin at 56:30mins is absolutely loving life!! It must have been amazing to be there when this was performed but to actually be talented enough to take part in it must be something else....I swear if I win the lotto I’ll pay these guys whatever to re-create this concert again,it brings a massive smile to the face to just be able watch this here on TH-cam!! Thank you 😀😀😀👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I love every one of those tracks for the memories I made during those years . The orchestral treatment is fantastic . You can sit there as a grown man and still get lost in your memories of youth
This phenomena of orchestra and dance music is definitely a fusion of the 2000s. Almost like the two forms was made for each other. Perfect fusion of soft tones and drama from the classically trained and the electro just raises it to another level. So beautiful I reckon Bach and Beethoven would approve.
The whole this is a masterpiece. Watching this was a true pleasure. Thank you, Mr. Pete Tong. I respect all your contribution for music, proving that electronic music is not equal with primitive music. Proving that Apex Twin or Faithless were also music geniuses, like others in other kinds of music. And, it was a great, great pleasure to watch Ella Eyre in that kind of performance. Chapeau bas, young lady, you have pure talent! Just wish I was there....
2023 and still effen amazing. this is THE best Proms of all of them. my heart and nostalgia melts with these glorious sounds. i'm alone here in this now i bet, but don't care as this will be a rest-of-the-lifetime soundtrack.

Either you like it, or you don't. Such a quality broadcast with exceptional talent and vision. Break down the barriers of classification of music and be free - to me I love it! Music bringing out the euphoria within inside!

This beautiful performance reminds me of the time I won an (online) all-expense paid trip to Ibiza back in 2000, courtesy of Ministry of Sound. 16 years later, listening to the creative power generated by this talented group give me goosebumps. Leave it to a bunch of Brits to melt the house down at the Royal Albert Hall; wish we had the same talent/spirit here in the States. "Take that Mozart!" ~Pete Tong

Привет из Москвы!!!
❤❤❤
Hey thanks legend 👍
Amazing. I had tears in my eyes :) Greetings from Poland.
W tym roku też są te imprezy w UK ;)
What an event - feel so very proud to be part of this community - favourites are Smoke Belch II, Insomnia, Strings of life and Cafe del Mar - lets dance forever!!!
Well done
Shockingly good. When the BBC does a concert, it DOES a concert........ AMAZING.
The bbc gets it tight nowadays, but i agree they know how to put on a show!! 🎉😂
After 1000 of years of music, that's the result!! that's the peak of it all!!! thank you...
This is quite simply one of the best Proms ever, no argument. It also shows that no one does it better than the BBC. And finally it proves why Britain is so great. One of the best two or three nights of my life. I am so, so lucky.
This shared Joy:
1. Joy of listeners from the brilliant work of the orchestra
2. Joy of the orchestra with good fun that they give to listeners
An art which could be played and interpreted in a dozens of ways.
well said! you seem to appreciate music alot .Try LSD on your best music !
No genre's @ all,
If a tune hits your heart, doesn't matter if it's House, Techno, Disco, Breaks or Progressive House or Pop music.
Soulwax/2 Many DJ,s do what they are into, all of the above & more. & It works well.
Just Enjoy your music.

well said !!!
BBC, you have to do this again maybe to celebrate 25 years of Ibiza!!this was the best concert ever!!!!
Brilliance!!! Like to mention INSOMNIA, as a Faithless lover, took me to another level.. incredibly orchestrated and magically performed.. what a trance!!?!! - Well done all for the immense effort gone into this master show.
This show should be touring thru out the whole world,
in every country where house music has known for its hype,
in the last 30 years.
Need to come visit Alicante, Spain please!!!
They played in Ireland at electric picnic festival
Coady Purchase I thought exactly the same thing mate. Been there through the ups and downs.
There but for the grace of god go I...........
Omg, I'm sat here crying at how absolutely immense this is!!!!
isn't it tho? .... still...
I started crying at 8:56, just intense emotion from this talent and splendor
I can relate to that
When all this is over, they need to do this again!
Same 😢 because its awesome music ❤
I can watch this over and over again. Simply brilliant.
Snap x I re watch all the time x the best music to clean and tidy up too x then celebratory dance x
I envy you!!!!!!
Get a life you loser
Sure you were!! Bobby the bullshitter here.
Feels!! Wow, my body and brain are fighting. My body wants to dance and my brain wants to just sit back, listen, admire and cry. So freaking good.
I'm in the the US. In Florida and let's be clear. The UK License fee would be worth every penny just for this marvel. I hope BBC proms do another one of these this year. Best live tracks ever. Well done!
M The BBC Proms are one of only a dozen things the BBC Licence Fee is worth it for
I think hear it twenty times or more, is still great and makes lot of fun during work, sport whatever
Wow, nice surprise to find this here, little did I suspect, how emotional I'd become hearing the music - Radio 1 you've hit a cord within me, which I must say back to you, thank you.
Andrew Coulson I couldn't agree more and sentiment sincerely shared!
This is incredible! How could i miss this! Well done to all involved - Pete Tong, Jules Buckley, The Heritage Orchestra, Ella Eyre, John Newman and the AMAZING the back up singers! BRAVO!!!!!!!!
Isabelle Brant. My favourite TH-cam vid it’s superb
the years pass by and always come back to this concert
Congratulations to everyone who made this amazing concert , is one the best ideas I've seen in a while , every song played by the full orchestra and sung by vocalist along with Pete Tong is my hair stands on end , and hopefully it the beginning of many more concerts with bands playing electronic music , love music , live music :)
total agreement my friend, evolution is what the BBC need not axing
This classic Ibiza dance music BBC prom should be televised every year - the Heritage Orchestra are just brilliant.
I've had this Pete Tong Classic House CD for years and is a great driving record. Only found this video a couple of days' ago though, and seeing the utter joy from the audience and the orchestra is just fabulous.
This is my favourite TH-cam video.... by far.
I've just played it at my new years party and everyone went wild!
Outstanding.
Me too and its November now.
Some of the musicians look overwhelmed by the effect their music has on the crowd. Absolutely superb!
I wonder if each and every one of those musicians understand and appreciate that every single day there is someone such as me that is absolutely astounded and taken back a couple of decades just by watching a video on TH-cam. It is mind blowing. Thankyou very much.
Now this is what you call REAL music... Thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish... Great instrumentals and vocals - Thanks BBC!
i am literaly bawling my eyes out ....... the tears are just flowing ..... how can something be so beautiful? how did I miss this? *willneverforgiveself*
Yup an hour and a half of sheer emotion.
Tamara Vranješ oh me too . the sound of the orchestra on music from my youth they're amazing .. goosebumps and tears
Best performance in the Music History!
Omg! All these yrs later this is still so amazing!!! I still listen at 53! Wish i was there! So amazing!!! My go to feel good music!!!❤️❤️❤️
62 and still think its the best show/concert ever
You old loser
Micheal Jones
Yup, I clocked that. It'll have been the biggest cheer she'll have ever got playing, I bet!
I bet she had goosebumps.
Micheal Jones I know, I’m utterly in love 😍 with her
Back when House music was a movement and a way of life. Youngsters today will never have what we had.
Yep your right. Trance back then was something else.
It will be better than this once humans are free from the corruption
I'm 46 and that was OUR time. Joy and fun, dancing all night long! Superb concert!
I miss the 90's so much :( Im 42 today.
Truth Spoken for real!! I'm so happy I got to live that experience ❤❤❤
Omg this is amaaazing. Goosebumps, tears and whatever more. Incredible.
i feel the same ,,, but why the tears? ( which i have too). combination of raw amazing talent, happiness and amazing music perhaps?
This is sooo awesome. If there's ever a club like this, I'll probably never see the daylight again..
+JESSMO You're right: I would go to such a place every damn time it's open!
😂
There used to be a club, Trade, the best party ever unfortunately no longer around
The tickets for 2019 gig in O2 Arena in London are on sale if not sold out already... Just saying.
Epic! I've never seen so many orchestral musicians smiling while playing 😊
Insomnia was insane!
Because they are not playing dead man’s music.
Get a life!
That did not age well @@Angie-in8wc
While in hospital critically last year in H. D . Unit l listened to Adele Hello every night helped me to pull through now listen to pete tong and Heritage Orchestra thanks to you both.
Was u looking tondie listening to hello lol cuz after 5678654.332 times it played on radio i was
I'm a 45 year old guy and remember every song and the emotion generated by mixing classic original dance records with classical music is unbelievable. It brings tears....Hope Radio 1 do it again in 2020!!
This was an incredible set !! Dance music with a full orchestra !!! Wow. Just wow !!😊😊😊
How do you find the album
Just search Pete Tong and the heritage orchestra, it should bring up a couple of albums
Before everything was (obviously) shut down for the pandemic this whole group became a yearly touring company with shows around December and January; there’s full recordings of a couple of their performances up on TH-cam, if you haven’t found those yet. imo they’ve really stepped up their game since the (already-impressive) Ibiza Prom.
totally sublime, amazing musicianship and the backing singers are wonderful, what a fun night that must have been, well done all
the blend of old and newer in such a classic setting is bliss.
You got it spot on !

This is brilliant!! This should definitely become a regular thing worldwide :)
I know this is a year later mate - and not sure if you will get/see an alert, but you can currently get tickets for their tour in UK, USA, Aus: petetong-ibizaclassics.com/
I'm going to the tour next month at the O2
And now it is!
OMFG, I'm no longer 40, I'm back in my 20s!!! BRILLIANT ^_^
Still, by far, the greatest gig I've never been to. For six years, the perfect soundtrack to a variety of household chores, including painting, dishwasher stacking and sorting through old photos. Thank fook for the BBC. And Peter Ting. And Energy 52 at 1:09:46 is just sublime.
Wow, this is the most upbeat yet chilling session iv encountered. Thank you Radio 1😎
Oh wow, how have I only just found this? This just fired up my Friday afternoon like I was in my 20's again. Love it, do it again.
This is nothing short of EPIC!!! I've been listening to this whilst stuck at home during COVID-19 lock-down and every tune is raising (what's left of) my hair on end! The smiling faces . . . . just . . . well - ya know . .
Just look at the orchestra musicians, they are soo happy!
Absolutely amazing! Eat that BT and your laptop symphony! Pete Tong is a King of Dance!
Goosebumps - I’m nearly 41 going on 19. I’m transported back to Ibiza in 99. No care in the world, loving life and not a care in the world.
After that time, addiction took hold, should be not here anymore..... but I fought back. I’m still adoring life, my family, the music and most importantly of all.... me
Get a life you old sad man!
I'm proud of you man !! You are an inspiration to others !!!😊
This is life changing! absolutely amazing and makes me so happy, some real, raw talent we have here! ❤
I have watched this so many times, Pete tong adds just that extra touch
Richard Blackwoo
The woman with blonde hair playing the violin at 56:30mins is absolutely loving life!! It must have been amazing to be there when this was performed but to actually be talented enough to take part in it must be something else....I swear if I win the lotto I’ll pay these guys whatever to re-create this concert again,it brings a massive smile to the face to just be able watch this here on TH-cam!! Thank you 😀😀😀👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
win the lotto . dont even play it , prob get wiped out if a human wins it
How can you tell when all you can see is the back of her head you loser!
I love every one of those tracks for the memories I made during those years . The orchestral treatment is fantastic . You can sit there as a grown man and still get lost in your memories of youth
Sensational the back up singers are incredible xx
I'm living for the backing singers who are just vibing the whole way through the gig
Love them, and their talent & energy too. 😁
Same here x absolutely stunning voices x the lady in the purple top reminds me of the comedian, Judi Love x
This phenomena of orchestra and dance music is definitely a fusion of the 2000s. Almost like the two forms was made for each other. Perfect fusion of soft tones and drama from the classically trained and the electro just raises it to another level. So beautiful I reckon Bach and Beethoven would approve.
I no what you mean no truer words said exelent all day long
roll over
What are you talking about?
@@Bobbythebullshitter The benefits of making gravy from meat juices and not granules.
Many thanks to whoever though of doing, and went to through planning and actually making it. Thanks to everyone involved!
I can't express how enjoyable this was to watch!
Pete Tong :)
WOW what an amazing performance. Thank you to the BBC and youtube. Many compliments to all the musicians in this performance, everyone was miraculous.
Even a few years later, this is just as special as the first time I heard it. Truly sensational, would love to see something similar live.
Either you like it, or you don't. Such a quality broadcast with exceptional talent and vision. Break down the barriers of classification of music and be free - to me I love it! Music bringing out the euphoria within inside!
The lady on violin, with a blonde crop, rocks my world. She is so into playing... I love it!
☮️💚🏡🎶
Totally agree she's fully emersed in the experience
Pervert.
The combination of nostalgia and euphoria. Simply incredible. Literally sends shivers down my spine.
Mate! Know how you feel there,
Took me right back but hearing it beautifully composed by an orchestra was magnificent,
For anyone didn't feel a thing from this! Do you even have a soul?
It sure hit me in the feels, But in a wonderful way
You've never lived you sad loser
Love it! Mix of classic and electronic music something marvellous!!!! Please BBC continue this idea!
I came across this over the 2022 Christmas break - sadly Maxi Jazz RIP. Great concert - took me back a few decades......Thanks for uploading.
There have not been many days when I have not viewed this brilliant concert. Never get bored of it and it sounds fresh every time. Can't wait till Nov30 at the NEC
I planned to put this on in the background but was so mesmerized by the skill and coordination of the orchestra and Pete Tong that I watched it all! I would love to watch this in person post covid!
