    It is no longer possible to set smtp related to gmail.
    Access settings for low-security apps no longer support the use of third-party apps or devices that require you to log in to your Google account using only your username and password as of May 2022.
    In this case, could you guide me on how to set it up?

    This is a good basic start. I found your API documentation. I think if you work some of the kinks out and tighten up the security a bit this would be an good solution for a small operation. Other integrations into other open-source products and this might change the game a bit.

    Everything works except fetching. Using Gmail IMAP....the email shows in the Gmail inbox, but no fetching into osTicket and no moving the message to the right folder in the inbox. Thoughts? Thanks!

      You probably need to enable fetching in your email settings in the Admin Panel.

    Hello Team,
    Everything works fine for me but not able to fetch email using IMAP/PPO. I have enabled both in the email setting one by one but still, it is not working. I am using Centos 7, osTicket Version 1.14 with PHP 7.1

      The same thing happens to me, everything ok, I can send emails, I followed all the steps in the video but I can't recover the emails either by IMAP or by POP, I'm using Ubuntu 18.04 with PHP 7.2, did you manage to solve it?

    I was able to send outgoing email from diagnostics but was not able to received my reply.
    i can see it on my gmail but not on osticket dashboard.

    Although I checked all the steps you define on the video, still the mail is not fetching. Let me say it created the folder 'osTickets' on the email, but is it not fetching and creating the ticket from the received emails. Is it a bug on the software? I have already done all the suggestions you gave on the other comments. Please help

      Hey i had the same issue. For future reference, it seems like this video is outdated. Official 1.15 docs say "IMPORTANT: Simply checking Admin Panel => Settings => Email Settings => Enable POP/IMAP email fetch will not cause osTicket to automatically poll a mailbox for new messages".
      In my case, fetching started working as soon as i enabled fetch on auto-cron in Email->Settings screen.

    I have set a gmail account as help desk, from which i sent email to another gmail account as you did, but when i checked for incoming emails and sent an email on the gmail account set as help desk i did not receive it in osTicket. I am using windows 10, php 7

      So, you have an email in your helpdesk inbox that is not being fetched? If so, go to Admin Panel | Emails and click the email you have configured. Make sure you have enabled fetching and click save changes to make sure you don't get any errors. You should also go to Admin Panel | Emails | Settings and make sure email fetching is enabled.

      @@osTicket_tutorials Its fetching now after i changed the protocol to POP. I had a query regarding imap protocol, the email i configured is @gmail and the address to which i am sending email is also @gmail. In the tutorial the address to which email is sent is @companyname.com but its GSuite(Meaning its gmail in the back). Tell me does it matter if the sender/end user is normal @gmail email would it still be welcomed to helpdesk folder of the email i have configured? Will all the emails sent to the email address i configured will be parked in helpdesk folder in gmail? Or does it have something to do with the company name as domain e.g xyz@companyname.com

    I am a little confused. I followed this video. Sending e-mail is working without issue. Also, the folder was created in gmail by OSTicket to move the tickets in. But when I send an e-mail to that address, tickets are not created, and the e-mails are not being moved to that folder. How can I troubleshoot this? Is there a step that I am missing?

      The first step you should take is to go to where you have configured that email and just click Save Changes to make sure you don't see any error messages. You should also make sure that you have email fetching enabled. You can check this in Admin Panel | Emails | Settings and you'll see the checkbox for Email Fetching. If it still doesn't work, I'd suggest sending us an email to support@osticket.com with screenshots of your setup so we can try to see what's wrong.

    Hi, I have been trying to configure email but every time getting some error. Initially, I thought that I have missed some setting on xampp. I uninstalled it and reinstall osticket using Windows IIS but the issues is still there. I have changed my Gmail setting too, But I am always getting an invalid SMTP setting" . Please help

    Is it possible to fetch emails to the specific departments by some sort of filtering?

      If you go to Admin Panel | Emails, and choose the email you need, you can choose which Department tickets should be assigned to. So, you don't need a filter or anything to do this.

    IMAP doesn't exist. PHP must be compiled with IMAP enabled - i got this issue

    Everything is working fine *but* when I tried to login IMAP gave an alert saying I need to login with oauth and it cut off a link. It's just abruptly cut off.
    Here is the full alert below the line

    hi , I am trying to connect my gmail account with os ticket
    I was enable less secure apps in my gmail acount and IMAP
    when i try to set up the smtp settings give me an error
    authentication failure [SMTP: Invalid response code received from server (code: 535, response: 5.7.8 Username and Password not accepted. Learn more at 5.7.8 support.google.com/mail/?p=BadCredentials s7sm5151077ljo.98 - gsmtp)]
    and I am sure that the password is correct

      php 7.2
      mysqlnd 5.0.12
      fedora 31 without ssl certificate
      its local work but need to aplay it to gmail

      Based on the error message, it looks like you need to make sure the username and password you typed are correct. Make sure you can get to the email's inbox using the credentials you're putting into osTicket.
